‘I’m not sure how she’ll take the whole vampiric thing, but it’s good you told her.’ Alastor says,
‘Not sure, guess we’ll find out, I’m willing to put up with a bit of freaking out, that’s normal, but too much, and I’m out, there are other worlds out there.’
I watch the girls for a reaction to my comment on my race, curious as to what they think of it
Lillith blinks at me. And blinks again. I blink back. Her food machine makes a quiet ding, and she turns away from me. I look over at Twila and she shrugs.
“I figured you were.” She says. “But Lillith is still getting used to this whole ‘there are creatures besides humans’ thing. She refused to let me come out of my book for the first few hours she learned about me.”
“That is something to get used to, I’ve over a month to get used to Alastor, let alone drinking blood.” Lillith shudders a bit but quickly tries to hide it. She peeks over her shoulder at me, looking like she wants to say something, but doesn’t.
“It’s alright, I get the not liking blood thing, took a bit to get used to, fortunately, I only need less than a pint a day. I still haven’t tried any sapients, but Alastor says it should be better for me.”
Lillith blinks again, swallows hard, and sinks onto the couch with her food.
“Um, here’s your water.” She says a second later, holding out a plastic bottle to me. “And the bottle will sublimate in an hour, so don’t leave it sitting.” I accept the water with a nod, and she flinches away as our hands brush.

“Sorry.” She immediately apologizes. “I mean, I didn’t, umm, sorry.” She ducks her head.
‘She’s taking it better than we expected, anyways,’ I think to Alastor dryly.
“It’s no problem, Lillith, I have no intention of snacking on any planeswalkers or pact companions,” I say out loud. Lillith steals a surprised look at Twila that reads more like discomfort than fear.
“Alright,” She says after a moment. “I don’t really like admitting this, but I don’t know what I’m doing with any of this magic stuff. I have a house, and, well, I guess my food machine won’t do you much good. But if you're willing to try to work together, I’ll do my best, just please promise to not umm, suck our blood or hurt us.”
“I can promise both of those things, and I’ll try to limit my feeding to out-of-sight. In the meantime, what are you looking to do?”
“Ah, like, in the next few weeks? Figure myself out I guess. I mean, I just got a whole new body! And train. And stay safe. That’s pretty much it. You?” Lillith says, settling in to eat her food, slightly less nervous now that she’s made her offer.
“My priorities are similar, I have been mainly focusing on tracking in the last week, looking for others like us. Training will be best accomplished off Earth, especially as you are a magic user. Staying safe is something I can definitely help with.”
She squirms a bit but then nods.
“I was so excited to come back here, but, it’s really not safe, is it? Not for me, or for anyone I’m around… It’s just, it's home, yeah? But… not really anymore, is it?” Twila affectionately rubs Lillith’s shoulder.
“It's not anymore. I chose to stay to see if I could find anyone like me, but my magic is concealed.” I state.
‘Technically Earth was your home, as I recall, but that has been a very long time.’ Alastor comments.
