I walk inside and Twila is sitting back on her bed, swinging her legs.
“Good morning,” I greet her. She smirks.
“Wake up early to spend time with Trigger?” She asks. I groan.
“Not this again!” I exclaim. “I just don’t sleep til noon like you do!” She giggles. I plop next to her on the bed.
“So, what do you want for breakfast?” I ask.
“What did you have?”
“I had scrambled eggs.” I say. She wrinkles her nose.
“Let's go with not that.” She says. “How about… pancakes?” I grin.
“Sure.” I say, while sending that command to the replicator, which is sitting on the table now. A bit later the replicator dings and I poke Twila. “You can get it yourself.” I tell her. She sighs and stands up, collecting her pancakes with strawberries, whipped cream, and syrup on them, then sits back down next to me. She eats most of them, then looks up and smiles.
“You know, I’m rather surprised eggs were all you had for breakfast.” She says. “You were sitting right next to Trigger all morning. I’m sure he would have given you dessert if you asked.” I shriek and hide my head with my wings.
“Oh just finish your food and leave us alone!” I say louder than I meant to. She starts giggling uncontrollably.
“You’re an ‘us’ now?” She asks, unreasonably happy at that prospect. I lose it at that and start giggling too.
“No.” I say firmly, or as firmly as I can while giggling.
“Not yet at least.” She teases. I roll my eyes playfully and stand. She follows me, setting her plate on the table. When we walk outside, Trigger is holding a giant sword. It looks to be at least as tall as he is, and that’s saying something. He’s six foot easy.
“That’s a big sword.” I say before I think better of it.

“It is, but I can handle it.” He says distractedly, starting to work on some movements with it. Twila grins and nudges me.
“Oh, I believe it.” She says, and I roll my eyes but have to smile a bit. I watch as Trigger starts moving his sword around, and even though I know nothing about swordsmanship, his movements look smooth and... right, somehow. He looks back at me once he seems satisfied with it.
“I’ve had some practice and always wanted a sword like this.” I bite my lip to hold back my smile. It seems like every boys’ dream, to have a big sword to wave around and fight enemies with, especially if it is magic too. I nod.
‘You aren’t wrong, he’s always liked swords.’ I hear Alastor say. I tilt my head.
‘Can you hear me all the time now? Or did I just let my shielding down?’
‘No, but it’s written all over your face.’ I grin and nod.
‘Sorry.’ I say.
“What?” Trigger asks, “Is Alastor telling you some cracked-up tale about me?”
Twila nods. “Yup.”
He sighs, and swings the sword around, then focuses along the edge.
I take a seat out of his swing radius and watch him. Twila sits next to me and gives me a side hug. I put my wing around her back. Trigger sticks the sword in the soft sand and looks over at us. “Now that it’s built, I just have to figure out how to enchant it.” I nod and stand up.
“Anything I can do to help? Otherwise I think I want to work on some elemental stuff.” I say.
“Unless you know Arcanomancy, I’m not sure how much you can help with; Twila and Alastor, do either of you have any information on it?” I glance over at Twila as she nods.
“I have a few ideas,” she says. I brush the sand off my butt and offer Twila a hand up.
‘As do I.’ I hear Alastor say to us, and I nod.
“So, you guys can figure something out, I have no clue on any of this though, so, I’ll be over by the lake. Unless of course, you mess it up. I can help with that part.” I say, and smile shyly at Trigger. “I can heal people and I can do anti-magic stuff.”
He nods, “Thanks for letting me know.”
I walk down to the lake and wade in up to my knees. After a moment, I morph my wings back to the dragon-like ones I used while swimming and change to a two-piece swimsuit. I figure I’ll get soaked before I’m done, and might as well be prepared. I start moving the water around, seeing how large and fast I can get the water to move. I work on it for as long as I can before I get tired. My mind drifts back to the middle of the night, when Trigger woke up and touched my neck. I rather liked it, not that I'd admit it to him… not yet anyways. But his touch was really nice. I ask my AI if I can replay memories, and when it says I can, I ask it to replay the memory from the moment I woke up. I feel like I’m watching a movie, but with touch. It’s really cool. I realize I’ve completely stopped as I replay the memory, and get back to making waves, stealing glances at Trigger and Twila when I can. Trigger has stopped swinging the sword, and is now kneeling on the sand.
