I wake up two hours later, the girls still naked on top of me, so I go intangible slowly, letting them drift to the bed, then find my belt and morph an outfit. I slip out of the room and lock the door, off for another meal of blood. I quickly get above the building tops and move out a few miles, hunting in the alleyways for gangsters. It doesn’t take me long to find my next meal, in a gangster flipping knives at a target. Reminded of the taste of sapient blood, I nearly overeat again.
‘I don’t know how long it’ll take before I’ll get used to this, if ever.’ I tell Alastor, and he chuckles. Once sated, I leave the body slumped against a wall and look around, feeling for magic traces. It takes a moment, but I notice that they are spread out almost in a pattern over the world, with various random points moving around. One I know is Lillith, but the rest must be in some sort of organization. I shrug and fly back to the inn, then slip back into bed with the girls. Lillith wakes up this time, and snuggles into my shoulder. “You ok?” She whispers sleepily. “How was it?”
“Yup, just needed food. It was really good.” She blinks and smiles sleepily at me in the darkness of our room.
“That’s good. So, it's better then? Than animals, I mean?” She asks curiously, still not fully awake it seems.
“It is better, much richer, better flavors, smoother texture.” I tell her slowly, not wanting to freak her out, but she just nods.
“Good.” She says, then snuggles up and kisses my neck. I return the kiss, and as she dozes off, I load my simulation, I picked it up back on Earth. ‘Conway’s Game of Life,’ it was called there, a simple set of rules governing it, yet creating highly complex structures. With five known classes of structures, and a proposed sixth, it’s a relatively fun simulation for someone with a load of computing power, you can even get the simulation to act as a computer, and run the simulation, in the simulation. I’m not quite to that point yet, but I know the basics of computing essentials, and can build from there. I run it for another couple hours until Lillith wakes up again.
Lilith wakes up, and snuggles herself into me. It surprises me a bit how tightly she can fit herself to my body. I hold her as she slowly opens her eyes.
“I had a dream about you last night.” She whispers.
“Oh?” I ask.
“I think we were training, or, or something. You shot fire at me.” She whispers. She doesn’t sound afraid, exactly, but…
“Okay,” I squeeze her. “I love you darling.” She smiles adoringly at me, or maybe it’s just my wish, because she then hesitates.
“You, you wouldn’t attack me, right?” She asks shyly.
“Only for training, and those rules would be laid out previously.” I smile confidently at her, and she nods.
“Thanks, I guess I just needed to hear it.” She pauses. “So, what are we going to do today?” She asks after a minute. I shrug at the same time I feel Twila moving against my back.
“Well, I suppose we could start by having breakfast this morning.” I wink. Lillith smiles sheepishly.
“Yeah, we were a little distracted yesterday…” Twila wakes up faster this morning, but it still takes a few minutes before she sits up. I smile at her.
“Good morning sleepy.” She sticks her tongue out at me, then she wiggles around me to look at Lillith.
“Did you two sleep well?” She asks when she can see both of us.
“As well as I can, when I only sleep two hours a night.” I say as Lillith shrugs, then stands up and stretches, reaching above her head, then bending over and touching the floor gracefully. My eyes trail over her body, enjoying the view a lot. She notices and her cheeks flush, then she picks up her morphing belt.
“Well, I am kinda hungry…” She says as she morphs her clothes.
“Let’s have breakfast then.” I climb out of bed and grab my belt, slightly changing the clothes this time. Twila sighs, watching the two of us, then reluctantly climbs out of bed and begins dressing herself. I step over to her and gently run my hands over her shoulders before assisting her in lacing up her corset. Once she is dressed, she turns and looks at us.
“Let’s go have food.”
Lillith nods and opens the door, which I close and lock behind us. I lead the way to the bar downstairs, as neither of the girls seem willing to lead. We get breakfast and sit at a table out of the way. “So, what do we want to do today?” I ask the girls.
“Well, I’d kinda like to buy one of those jeweled bugs everyone has, I, it’s just really interesting,” Lillith says hesitantly.
I nod, “It’s an interesting blend of arcanomancy and necromancy, as far as the magic signals they give off. Did you happen to catch how much they were?”
Lillith shrugs, “About three large pieces of gold, I think. The fancier ones, anyways.”
I hand her 4 of the pieces, “Go ahead and get something that you like.” She ducks her head, smiling.
“Thank you.” She says. She turns to Twila, and while I can’t hear what they say to each other, Twila starts smiling.
“You should go by yourself, Lillith. It’ll be good for you to actually have to talk to people.” Twila says teasingly.
Lillith shrugs, looking extremely nervous, “I suppose, you will be here if I need you, right? You two can enjoy yourselves, just, don’t disappear, ok?”
I nod and tap my forehead, ‘I’ll be here if you need me.’
She smiles, then stands. “Umm, I guess I’ll go then…” She says, clutching her little purse. I lean in and kiss her. She smiles and kisses me back, then waves and walks out the door to the street. ‘So, I go down the street, then turn right, and it should be there, right?’ Lillith asks in my head. She sounds anxious, but like she’s putting on a brave face

‘Be a bit further down after you turn right, you’ll run into it.’ I say.
‘Ok. Just wanted to make sure I could hear you and that I knew where I was going.’ Lillith sends back.
‘Okay, have fun.’
I turn to Twila, “Back to the room?” I ask. She nods, wiggling excitedly. I lead the way back to the room, locking the door, then dropping my belt. Twila wiggles out of her dress as well, then turns her back to me.
“Would you mind?” She asks, motioning to her lacing. I smile and step up to her, and open the lacing, stroking her back as I do. She leans into my touch gratefully.
“How do you want to be touched?” I ask her.
“Open my legs and caress me, use your mouth on my body.” Twila says breathlessly as my hands drift down her. I pick her up and lay her on the bed, spreading her legs, and stroking her gently. She moans softly, “Thank you… More, please...” I start kissing the insides of her thighs, and squeeze her with my hands. She whimpers, her hands squeezing the sheets. I slip my tongue between her lower lips, and slide my hand up her thigh.
‘I’ve made it to the market, and I’m looking for a vendor.’ Lillith interrupts my thoughts.
‘Ok. Twila and I are experimenting, waiting for you.’ I send back, and I hear Lillith giggle mentally.
‘Experiments sound fascinating, enjoy.’
I slip a finger into Twila’s darker pussy, and taste her juices as she wriggles on my finger. I think I prefer Lillith’s taste, but Twila isn’t bad at all. I continue sucking, licking and fingering Twila until she cums. As she moans, her body arches off the bed. I clean up her wetness with gentle flickers of my tongue, then look up at her.
“Anything else?” I ask Twila, teasing her. She doesn’t seem to be able to respond quite yet.
‘Just got one, going for a walk with it to test it out. How is it going?’ I hear Lillith in my head. Thankfully, she sounds much less nervous, not quite confident, but certainly better than when she left.
‘Okay, have fun, it’s going well, you’ll definitely have a turn when you get back.’ I hear her mentally moan, and I smile at the image she sends of her naked beneath me. ‘Yep, we can do that if you’d like.’ I tease. ‘Could also do something like this…’ I send an image of my tongue on Twila’s clit, my fingers visibly in her. ‘This is what I was just doing.’
‘Ohhhh, I’d like that…’ She trails off, and I smile. A moment later she reaches out again ‘Trigger, there’s men, they, hel-’ Her messages go from sexy to frightened in an instant, and then she cuts off. I reach out, but it’s like she’s become blackness, there’s no connection for me to find.
I snap my head up and leap off the bed, accelerating to my belt, throwing it on and remorphing my clothes.
“Twila, Lillith’s in trouble, we need to go, now.” I snap as Twila stands up, looking at me worriedly. “Her message cut out mid transmission, and she was scared.” Twila nods, dressing quickly. I help, mainly to get her out of the room quicker. We get out of the room two minutes after Lillith went silent, sprinting out of the inn and down to the marketplace. I start panning for magic traces, and pick up a few nearby ones
“I have a few traces, we’ll have to check them out, I’m not good enough to pick Lillith out by her trace.” I tell Twila as we hurry along the street coming into the market. She nods. I pick the closest one, and beeline for it. I pass the trace, and whirl, then stop and realize it's an old man with a cane and decorative hat walking down towards the marketplace. I continue sprinting to the market, slowing down to normal human speeds even as my body is screaming at me to go faster, find her. I check all the traces present in the marketplace, Twila following behind me, breathless. Lillith isn’t there. I pan around, hunting for a trace moving away from here, but there isn’t any that seem to be in a hurry or moving as anything but a normal stroll. I sigh, and Twila catches up to me.
“Nothing. Guess it's time for the police, or whatever is on the world.” I say flatly. She nods, hanging her head and trying to catch her breath.
“How do we find something like that?” She asks after a moment. “I think I saw a station yesterday that uniformed men were working around, that could be promising?”
I nod, “That should do it.” I continue scanning, hoping against hope that I’ll find something out of the ordinary in the traces, but they all seem to be single people milling about. Twila takes my elbow and guides me to the station she saw. We enter, and are greeted by a professional receptionist.
“Hello, what is your problem or emergency?” She asks pleasantly.
“Missing person, my friend was kidnapped.” I state.
“Kidnapped, you say? Do you have a description of your friend and when you last saw them?”
“She was wearing a dark blue dress with pink, and the last I heard from her was a mental conversation we were having, it was ‘Trigger, there’s men, they, hel-’ and now I can’t connect to her any more.” I tell the lady and she types something onto her cash-machine looking thing before looking up at me.
“So which of you is psychic?” She asks. “You or your friend?”
“I am.” I say.
“Alright, what was she doing?” The lady asks us, typing a few things out on what is seeming more and more like a computer, just, clockwork style.
“She was purchasing a mech insect, at the marketplace.” Is that the right name for the bugs? It seems to fit.
“And her name?” The lady asks after a moment.
“Lillith, and if it helps, she is a magic caster.” The woman looks up at me at that, then quickly away. She seems to be uncomfortable with that, maybe it’s just that it’s rare here.
“Alright, then…” She says slowly. “I think that’s all the information we need, I’ll put out an alert, and we’ll check with our informants. Where can I get ahold of you if I find anything?”
I hesitate. I never learned the name of the place we’re staying. Twila speaks up.
“The Gearbox.” She says, and I sigh a bit in relief. ‘I saw the sign.’ She sends to me.
“I know it, good service, nice lady who works there. And your names please?” The lady requests.
“Trigger, and this is Twila.” I say. The lady nods and looks up at us.
“Alright then, we’ll be getting in touch with you when we find something, or by tomorrow morning if we haven’t found anything by that time, for more information from you about Lillith.”
“Thank you so much.” I say, and we turn to leave the station.
Once outside, I turn to Twila. “Let's get you back to the inn, I’ll hunt on foot for traces. If these chaps are after people with magic, you might be targeted too. Lock the door when I leave, maybe push the cot in front of it too, and signal me if anything happens.” I tell her. We hurry back to the inn, The Gearbox, I guess, and I hand Twila the key. I stand outside, waiting for her safe signal, and once I get it, start jogging, painfully slowly, around town, hunting, marking off traces. It’s like when I used to count ants as a boy, trying to keep track of all the pinpricks I can feel. It’s not many, but there’s more than I want to try to hunt through, except for the fact that it's Lillith I’m hunting for, and I’d do anything to find her again.
