Roderick Sets in West 1

----------------------------------------

"Wake up!" Roderick heard a voice passing through his eardrums. But the sound did not get past his sleep. Exhausted, Roderick body had no intention of waking him up.

I hope you are not Headless again. Or someone like him.

"I know you are awake." The sound was louder than ever.

For some time there was no sound disturbing his sound sleep. Instead, he heard some glasses colliding together softly. The tone of glasses touching one another served him as bed - time music.

"Get up now!" the angry man said. Roderick felt liquid filling his ears. The liquid reached his face and to his nostrils.

Shit! Roderick gasped and woke up.

Sunlight was gleaming through the window on his table, straight on the liquor bottle. From the same window he heard some horses neighing and saw some women walking in fancy west clothes. He realized nothing was fancy in it when men with cowboy hats and twisted mustaches gazed at him from their drinking tables.

"You have gone nowhere?" the one with the weirdest mustache of them all came to him with a bottle in his hand. Roderick guessed it was the same liquor which had gone to his ears, "Don’t you have any shame?"

Roderick wiped droplets of beer from the tablecloth.

"Eww…you nasty drunkard. Now pay four hundred dollars for what you drank."

"Four hundred?" Roderick was hit by a heavy blow of surprise. Roderick had never touched any hard drink in his life. Now the angry owner was claiming he had turned into a drunkard who could empty shelves of a pub.

"Four hundred twenty dollars."

"Twenty more now?" Roderick rose and opened his arms.

"I had forgotten to mention the price of beer I threw on your ugly head to wake your ass up." Owner put the bottle on table, "Now empty your pocket and fill mine."

Where am I? This place looks like Texas from Huckleberry Finn era. Roderick stretched his neck to have more view from the window.

"Stop acting like a giraffe and be a gentle drinker." Owner said.

"I don’t have any money." Roderick said, not trying to look owner in his eyes, but he couldn’t avoid eye contacts from the people sitting around him. It looked like he had become a show piece for others.

"You sure?" Owner came near him.

"Yes, sure. I don’t –"

"Bouncers!" Owner yelled before Roderick could explain everything.

Three huge men came in from the door, managing their sleeves. All of them were twice the size of Roderick. Everyone looked as if they had been forever angry and the call from owner seemed to have raised the anger.

"Calm down, maybe we can negotiate." Roderick pulled the owner.

"Take your hands off my shirt, you broke shit."

With no warning, a bouncer caught him by back of his neck. The grip was tight and was becoming tighter.

Roderick turned around and jammed his pointy elbow on the bouncer's stomach. Then he felt his neck being free from the iron like fingers. Roderick didn’t stop there and threw a jab on his temple. It shattered his skull, and he fell on the floor with a loud noise.

Did I just kill him? He thought.
