They headed for the volcanic tunnel after cracking the riddle. Volcano had been dormant since centuries. The last time it had exploded, the entire forest had converted into ashes. But the forest recovered and thrived after the explosion because of the fertile ashes.
The trio went inside a cave near the volcano. It resembled to a cave for a short while but later looked like a tunnel. Everything looked like a result of good architecture. They kept walking for more half an hour until they saw something shining.
"Treasure." Barry smiled and shared with Waylon.
Roderick was in no mood of celebration. The treasure was nothing to him. His eyes fell on Gretta who also had no relief on her face. She was feeling worried.
Roderick understood why she was. A ghost appeared infront of them out of nowhere. The ghost floated around them, then sat between them and the treasure.
"I am the guardian of the treasure." Ghost hissed.
"Let us go in." Waylon said.
Roderick was better off outside.
"Not this easy." Ghost said, "Ask me questions. If I can't answer any one of those, then I will let you people go in. And if you can't ask me a question and I can't answer, I will kill you all."
All of them got terrified hearing to the ghost's demand.
"Let me ask him." Roderick pushed his way through, "How can I kill Tafadzwa?"
"Use the forest ranger's gun." Ghost said.
"Ahm...." Roderick cleared his throat, "How can you get destroyed?"
Ghost's pupils expanded. Roderick could see him clenching fist, but he chose to step aside. The ghost stayed there even when they had reached to the treasure.
I was going to ask him the same. Waylon thought.
Waylon laughed infront of the treasure pile and leaped on it to fulfill his lifelong dream of swimming in richness. He instead went through the treasure and fell chin first on the hard floor.
Roderick stretched his hand to pick up a coin, but his hand passed through it.
"Holographic treasure." Roderick breathed.
Waylon rose, disappointed with his life.
"So you people came here?" Tafadzwa laughed from the tunnel, ignoring the ghost between them, "I thought you would be in the king's old dungeon right now."
"Roderick." Gretta elbowed him and whispered in his ear, "Tafadzwa can make things solid. Bring the ranger's gun here and we can kill him once he solidifies the treasure."
Tafadzwa gestured his men to keep walking ahead.
"Wait." Ghost came in their way.
"You can only go if you ask me a question I can't answer. If you can't then you all will die here."
Tafadzwa's henchmen gasped.
"How can I kill you?" one asked with a wide smirk.
"I am already dead." Ghost chuckled.
The man turned into dust when ghost pointed his finger at his direction.
"Next." Ghost said.
