33. The end of this hell

“Rowan, don’t you think it’s disgraceful to hide behind a little girl?” a beautiful woman asked, when she came to the room. With a long red hair, similar to this of Vyliana, and a dark dress. She looked like my companion but with one big difference.

Everything about her was lady like. Vyliana was a beautiful girl, but she had a really playful personality. This woman was different.

“Don’t joke. You know it’s not a little girl.” Rowan said, as he looked at her from behind me.

Those words could sound brave, if you weren’t hiding behind me.

Wait. She knows I’m not a little girl?! What is he talking about?

“Oh, don’t worry about it. Remember when I met you, when you were with my daughter? I knew that something wasn’t right then.” this woman said, and smiled at me.

Yeah, I remember meeting her, but I didn’t knew that she would see through my disguise that easily.

“S-Sorry.” I said after a moment.

“Don’t worry about it William, I won’t tell anybody.” she said, and then looked at her husband.

Wait, how did she…

I never met her before. I never went to their wedding.

“How long will you stay there? I hardly see you lately, and when you come back you won’t even talk to me.” she said, while looking a little sad.

Is Rowan that kind of man? I didn’t knew. He is playing with girls hearts like that?

“No! Don’t listen to her! Why are you moving away from me? Why are you looking at me like that William?!”

Why can’t I have a normal friend? Someone who can’t cast scary spells, and isn’t from hell. Only Arthur is normal.

Or is he?

After thinking about those stupid things, we talked for a long time. We mostly talked about them. I wanted to know how Rowan was doing lately, and his wife seemed like a really interesting person.

Well, if you could call her a person.

Maybe it isn’t that bad that that I met that many interesting people? Would my life be better, if I was a normal guy? I wouldn’t spend my whole life in a tower, that’s for sure. But what would I be doing now? Staying in an old house, playing with my grandchildren.

I can’t really picture it.

“What are you thinking about? You are ruining your cute face.” Rowan said, and smiled at me.

This idiot.

I don’t remember when, but I feel asleep while talking with them. It seems my body really is the same, as that of a little girl.

Just like that my stay in hell ended. It might seem boring, because it was more like staying in a castle, but I can’t be picky. The demon king kept his promise , and gave me a dragon’s heart. It was placed in a big, black jar.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

After that he left us for a moment, and told us to wait for him.

I was standing in the throne hall, with the thing that I needed. Now I will go back to the city, where I will cast the spell.

I thought about this for some time. What will they think when they will see my true face? Will they hate me? But there is nothing I can do.

Well, I could stay as a little girl forever.

“Why are you shivering?” Morgana asked me, when she looked at me.

We were all standing here, waiting for the demon king. Me, Morgana, Arthur and Vyliana. He said, that he wanted to see us off. It’s not like I could reject his offer.

“It wasn’t that bad as I thought it would be.” Arthur said, and smiled a little.

Well, maybe for you.

“Yeah! I’m happy that master met my parents.” Vyliana added, and grabbed me from behind.

I’m sorry Vyliana. I knew 50% of your parents already.

“Oh! I’m sorry I kept you waiting!” I heard familiar voice behind me. When I turned around I saw him. The demon king.

If you would see him in a human city, you would think that he is a normal person. He looked like a normal man, with short dark hair, small black eyes, but there was something weird about him. From time to time, when he spoke you would feel shivers.

Well, he was a demon king after all.

“That’s for you Vyliana! It’s from your mother. She asked me to give this to you.” he said, and handed Vyliana a bottle. It looked like a juice, but I can’t imagine a demon giving another one a bottle of juice.

It must be something scary, and I just don’t know about it.

“Well, I see that everyone is here. Let me tell you one thing - I like you all. Well, now that I told you this… goodbye!” demon king said, and casted a spell.

He really is a weird person.

Anyway, another teleportation spell? It seems to me, that I’ve been teleporting a lot lately. Well, maybe because I lived my whole life in a tower. I was hardly leaving it at all, so I might be just a weird man.

I thought about those stupid things, as I lost my consciousness.

When I woke up, I was in the capital city once again. It was a middle of the night, and we were near the mages guild.

I thought that maybe the demon king will send us to some other place.

I don’t know why.

Maybe I hoped for this?

“I t-think I will go inside. I have what I came for. You can wait for me if you want.” I said, as I looked at my comrades.

Should I tell them to go away? Should I disappear? I could do this, but they deserve better. Well, if you could call my older self something “better”.

“Don’t worry Iris, we will wait here for you.” Arthur said, and smiled at me.

“Yeah master, just go inside and don’t worry about us.”

“Okay.” I replied and started walking towards the guild with this weird black jar. Just when I was about to knock on the door, I felt someone pulling my hand.

“What?” I asked, when I turned around.

It was Morgana, and for some reason she was looking at me with concern in her eyes.

“Do you really want it?” she asked, and I could swear that she looked like she was about to cry.

It was weird for me. Too weird.

“Don’t worry about me. I will come back in a moment.” I said, and smiled.

I tried to sound cheerful, but I couldn’t. I don’t know what will happen when I will return as my older self. Will they hate me? I lied to them for this whole time.

Well, you can’t really call this lying. It’s not like they asked me “are you really an old man in little girl’s body?”...

No, this is just an excuse, and a stupid one to be precise.

When I thought about this, I knocked on the door. This time, I didn’t need to wait for much, and an older woman opened the door. It seemed that she was waiting for me.

“Hello Rosie.” I said, and she smiled at me. Her eyes were beautiful as always.

“Hello William.” she replied quietly, to make sure that others won’t hear us.
