17. To become an old man

Capital city was really different than Jerven. It was bigger but people living there weren't as rich. There were many reasons for that. The biggest one was that Jerven was a really developed city, where a lot of trading happened. But there was one more important reason for that. Rich didn't care about the poor.

Well, it's normal everywhere, but here it was really visible. You could go from the most beautiful property to house that was barely standing in less than ten minutes.

We were now in poor neighborhood because we just entered the city. If I wanted to get to the mage's guild I needed to get to the rich district.

"I know you are excited, but we need to rest for now. You will go there tomorrow." Morgana said as we entered the inn. It was really normal, but compared to the old one in Jerven, this one looked very poor.

There was not many people and a lot of them were looking really suspicious.

"Don't worry about them master. I could kill them without problem." Vyliana said something scary again. Well, she attracted a lot of attention. It must be normal looking at her clothes and body.

"Yeah, you can count on us." my good friend Arthur said.

He won't be killing anyone, which is cool.

"Stay here, I will book some rooms." Morgana said and went to the owner of the inn.

It seemed really familiar. Her going, doing everything for me, and I was just waiting. It seemed so familiar that I remembered something.

"Arthur, I remember that you stared at me really hard when we first met. At first I thought that you were someone suspicious but you are just a very nice guy after all." I said what I was thinking.

It was hard for me to understand Arthur. I don't really know why he went with us. I mean, he must had really wanted to go on an adventure, but still it seemed weird for me.

"W-Well, i-it was something, I mean, you know..." Arthur said shyly.

Do you consider that a normal reply?

"I'm back. We have three seperated rooms." Morgana said and gave Vyliana and Arthur one key each.

Something doesn't add up here. Where is my room?

"What do you think you are doing?!" Vyliana said with anger.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Yeah you understand me. Tell her. Tell her that I want to have my own room too.

"I wanted to sleep with master too!"

You really are a demon.

After some more talking we went to our rooms. I had to sleep with Morgana but I didn't felt as embarrassed as I was before. But it's not because I became a girl or something.

"Wanted to sleep with me one more time?" I asked jokingly.

"No. I just don't want you to run." she said and looked at me.

I thought about this. If I really don't want them to know the truth I can just go the mage's guild alone and never come back. It seemed better for me but it looked like Morgana didn't liked it.

"You really seem to care much." I said and she smiled.

"I do."

The night started to appear as we were talking. After spending so many days outside you just want to sleep in a normal bed. But I couldn't sleep.

I wanted to check. I wanted to check if I can become normal.

That's why I made sure that Morgana was sleeping deeply and I sneaked out. When I went outside I was greeted by a really dark night. I was in a poor district so there was nothing that could light up my path.

After some time when my eyes became accustomed to the darkness I could barely see shapes of houses. They looked poor. But it was somewhat magical.

Then, after maybe twenty minutes I was in a better neighborhood. You could see shops there and good houses. There were even lamps that were powered by magic.

More poeple were walking in those areas because it was safer. When I was walking before I couldn't spot even one person.

As I was walking I saw what I was looking for. In a place I remembered. Mages guild. It was a big building with a sign that had an eye on it. Once, in this place I signed up to become a guild member. I was maybe twenty years old then, and shortly after they threw me out because I was doing "stupid" research. Because I wanted to do something no one could.

I didn't waited any longer and I went inside.

"It's good that guilds are open 24 hours." I said and looked around.

I was in a big, dark hall. The place looked classic, and well maintained. You could see many shelves with books that were from different fields of science.

"Looks like a library, not a hall." I said to myself.

It wasn't like this before. When I was young this place used to look more normal. Well, it wasn't my problem now. I needed to find someone who wasn't sleeping now.

It shouldn't be problem. Mages are freaks, that spend most of their free time doing some stupid research. Well, it's ironic that I am the one saying it, but this is the truth.

"Someone is there?" I heard woman's voice. It was coming from one of the shelves.

Done. Found one.

I'll just wait for her to come to me. Then I will explain to her what happened and she will help me. Oh, I can't wait to see their faces when I tell them that I succeeded.

As I was thinking about that I could see her approaching me from darkness. She was getting close so I could see her clothing. She was wearing the robes of a master mage. They were white and long. She was someone who commands the guild. I didn't thought that I will meet someone that important so fast.

After that I could see her face, and it wasn't bad. She looked like she was really old but her posture was good and she looked strong.

There was just something really weird about her eyes. Something nostalgic. Under her long white hair I could see that they were in different colors. One of them was green and the other one orange.

I've met someone like this before.

"Why are you here?" she asked and I remembered.

I remembered it all.

"Little Rosie!" I shouted and she looked at me surprised.
