>> Weekend came.
“Eh...?! You’ll attend a mixer tonight? Wow!”
Chesca chirped out loud as she heard my plans for tonight. Her eyes glimmered with enthusiasm while looking at me.
She’s at my room hanging out right now, like the old times. I used to have her here to hang out and sometimes, it’s vice versa.
“Yeah, my classmate invited me out.” I answered.
“That’s good; take a breather for a while sometimes. And there, may you should find someone who’s compatible with you.”
Chesca states glee over the matter. She’s a cheerful girl, but much livelier when it comes to her boyfriend.
“Though,” as the cheerful demeanor shows up on her face shown, I gave a tepid reply. “I don’t have an idea if this is good. If this would work out for me or not...”
“You think so...?”
Her mood suddenly crestfallen after my monologue.
“Well, that’s what I’m thinking. Those people are strangers and I can’t help but to be wary ‘bout them.”
“But it won’t help you out. I mean, yes... it’s true about meeting strangers will raise your guard up. But you should try to relax and be friendly to them.”
Her expression shows lenience, as I glare at it. Chesca tells this sincerity from her own experience and empathy to me.
“Also, it would be good if you find a suitable partner. You two may start as friends; you don’t need to deepen the relationship out of a sudden.”
“But what about you and Lance...? You two have started dating after meeting on the mixer, right...?”
Chesca got bewildered and shows a flushed expression after. “Lance and I are acquaintances before. I met him several times but hadn’t held any good conversation.”
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
She turns bashful in a sudden, like a maiden falling in love for the first time. I haven’t seen her having this kind of expression before.
“He’s earnest and kind. I wasn’t aware that he attended the mixer one of my friends organized. Then, we meet and had a conversation for the first time.”
She’s smiling while reminiscing the time they meet. That smile of hers is the thing I love the most. I used to see that smile, but now it’s too pure and genuine that I am afraid to taint it with my selfishness.
“I see that you liked him even before, huh...?”
“Yeah, I did admire him, and didn’t even realize that we’ll be end up as couple after he courted me.”
I see.
She’s now contented to that guy. I think there’s no space for me to interrupt their relationship anymore. No, I knew from the very beginning that I won’t stand out from him.
“I guess it’s best to give it a try.”
“Yeah, you should give it a try. And please tell me a story about what happened to your meet up, okay...?”
Such glamour she shows at me. I nod to her response and smile after. “Yeah, sure... I’ll tell you lots ‘bout it.”
Though, I still find this a little uncertain, it’s better to take the risk. I guess this will go right like it should be, right...?
* A Certain Rendezvous Point | 7:00 p.m.
>> “Sorry to keep you waiting!” as I stand over the entrance of the bar and restaurant, a familiar voice shouted with vigor from the distance.
Tilting sideways, Kristine sprints with glee towards my direction. She’s wearing a long skirt and denim jacket, as well as white tank top, enough to show her midriff.
On her shoulder is a shoulder leather black bag hanging. This is the first time I saw her in girlish casual attire; she’s always wearing jeans and shirt as her looks. And pair of bangle earrings hanging was swaying on the way she moves.
Beside her is another woman whose look timid.
My eyes meet hers, as she meets mine as well. She’s quite taller than any average girls; might be she’s a model. She has a long brunette hair, tied up with a braid beside; a pair of slit shape eyes glimmering on the view of the night.
She’s wearing a cream-colored turtle-neck as an outfit, and long skirt.
I felt a strange feeling; the moment I saw her, a spark suddenly heeded through.
“Ah, Kristine...”
“Hey, and I want you to meet my close friend. Ella.”
As Kristine meets me, she introduces the person she’s with.
“Hi.” I utter out. My lips tremble as she stands in front of me. What...? Why am I getting frantic? She’s beautiful; an alluring beauty I can’t helped but to stare.
“And, here’s my classmate Jessie.” Kristine speaks as she looks at the girl named Ella. “Hi, it’s nice to meet you.”
Ella stretched her arms and offers a hand shake at me. I somehow felt reluctant, but did reach her hand as well.
A jolt of electricity succumbs me. My eyes couldn’t avert off of hers. I got stunned by how beautiful she is. In the nightlife of this place, a ray of morning sunbeam descends up, and it astonished me.
“Seems you two are getting along well, but I feel bad to interrupt it. The others are waiting so let’s proceed.”
Cracking the silence, Kristine chided. I quickly let off Justin’s hand after and gazes at Kristine.
“You seemed attracted to her, huh...?”
Moving a step closer, Kristine whispers that word. I got jolted out of surprise as she said it. “Wha—what are you—"
“Don’t deny it; I got a feeling that you ‘sway’ that way...”
What...? How did she find out?
“Well, I guess it’s good. Finding the right person, no matter what gender it is, right?”
Grinning at me, Kristine winks out. I feel perplexed over the thought she said. Though, it wasn’t just show to my moves, but maybe, just the way how I look at Ella right now gave her the hitch to tell that I’m attracted to another girl.
This isn’t a good idea, but then the way how I take glimpse of Ella herself, I can’t deny that my feelings quiver out.
I want to enjoy the night tonight; at least, try to brush off the thought that this feeling of mine would suffice and settle to a nice guy.
