I walked down the street and made a few turns until I got to the shopping district. I started looking for a store that sells armour right away. "I can't wait to get rid of this piece of trash. What kind of armour should I get? Full platemale? mhh nah, too hard to walk in not to mention the fact that i'll get cooked alive". I kept walking and saw a store that sold armour and weapons so I head in, pushing past the bustling crowd.
"Welcome sir! How may I help you toda-" a tall and slim man in a blue suit with a tie and short blond hair was talking but stopped mid-sentence as he saw me, his face quickly turning sour. I probably look like a piss poor beggar right now, but whatever. "Can you show me some decent leather armour? My budget is 2 silver" was what I said to the man who looked like he wanted nothing more than for me to disappear. "He looked at me suspiciously but then said "Right away sir" and lead me into the store before stopping at some leather armour with green lines running along its surface. "This is made with Morga cow leather and enchanted to resist weak acids with a set costing 1 silver and 6 copper". I shook my head no and he continued along showing me to a section of other leather armours. There was a gray looking leather set that looked like it was made of stone, some vibrant purple leather armour that looked rather odd, a brown leather set of armour that had nothing special about it other than it glowing blue every so often, as well as several other suits. He kept showing them, telling me the price and any special effects they had.
The first one was made from the leather of a Stone Boar and was very resilient to arrows and slashing attacks but was sort of heavy. The purple set was made of some type of venomous frogs skin and gave resistance to weak poisons. The third set was just plain leather and was enchanted to give you a small boost in speed. I didn't like any of them so I continued looking around. I eventually saw a black set of leather armour with red and green coloured lines in the shape of flames running across the chest and along the limbs. I thought it looked rather cool so I asked "What about this set?".
The salesman sighed and said "That is a set that costs 2 silver and 40 copper so I didn't mention it. It was made using the leather of a Shadow wolf and gives resistance to weak darkness related attacks. It was also enchanted to give resistance to fire and also has a passive that will heal you very slowly over time, but it will not heal major wounds and severed limbs". I was surprised that a piece of armour would have a passive effect at such a cheap price. Passive skills don't require mana or any active use, they work by themselves as long as the requirements for them are met so they are great to have, which is why any armour with one is usually more expensive.
"Why is a piece of armour that has a passive being sold for so cheap?" I eyed the salesman suspiciously because I didn't want some armour with a debuff or other nasty side effects. He looked at me sheepishly and said "It is armour that was found in a dungeon chest and supposedly nearly the whole party ended up dying when carrying it. The same thing happened with a few other parties so it was called cursed and was sold to us and now no one wants it". I looked at him for a good few seconds before saying anything. "Pff is that why it's so damn cheap? Some weaksauce parties took it and ended up dying when they bought the armour and now people are scared of it? That's just great! Hahaha!" I wiped my tears from laughing so hard and handed the man the 2 silver and 40 copper. "I'll buy the armour. Man this is just great, people are avoiding such a good piece of armour for no good reason, that's just perfect". I went to a changing room and put the armour on right away and tossed the old armour into my inventory.

I left the store feeling great. Who wouldn't after getting such a good deal. I kept walking through the market to see if anything else would catch my eye for a good while. Eventually, I got to a store that sold several potions and alchemist ingredients as well as various apparatus for potion making. I went and looked around and saw some cheap healing potions, mana potions as well as various other potions. I didn't think I would need any mana potions with me being able to drain mana, and the armour should heal any minor wounds, but just to be safe I decided to buy a few healing and mana potions. "I'll buy 2 lesser healing potions and 2 lesser mana potions" I said to the shopkeep. The potions ended up costing 5 copper for each lesser healing and lesser mana potion costing me a total of 20 copper. I checked my total cash left and saw it was at 60 copper. I had spent quite a lot today and decided it was enough for now. I still needed to pay for the inn and buy food.
Right, food! I needed to stock up on some travelling food because I was running dangerously low on my start set provided food. I went towards the section of the market with food and got to a store that sold fresh made loaves of bread and some cooked slices of meat. I bought quite a lot since the bread and meat were on sale, leaving me with 20 copper. "Goddamnit I'm poor again!" I said to myself as I walked down the street. I decided to head to the inn before I ended up going broke again. It was also starting to get dark so I sped up my pace.
I arrived at the Keeper's Paradise and went in. The inn looked like a rather nice place, with decent decorations and a homely atmosphere. I walked up to the counter and said "I would like to get a room please". A girl that looked around 16 or 17 walked over to me and said "Yes sir, one night's stay would cost 10 copper not including food. Food will cost extra and has to be ordered at the cafeteria section of the inn". She said that as she pointed off to a door where you could hear laughter and the loud chatter of people. I pulled out 10 copper and handed it to her. "I'll stay for 1 night for now, thanks." I said to her and received my room key. I went to the cafeteria and pushed open the doors, and saw Ronia and co sitting around eating dinner so I walked over and joined them at the table.
"Hey hows it going man. Nice outfit! It's a big upgrade from those rags you had on before, Haha!" Ray said as I approached the table and sat down. Ronia rapped him over the head and said "That's rude! Don't make fun of him cause of how he looked, even though he does look a lot better than before". That earned a laugh from me and Ray. I pulled some cut slices of meat that was as warm as I bought it. My inventory stops time so anything I put in comes out the same way as it went in. "Man having warm meat and soft bread is so much better than that hard bread from before" I said as I started to eat my dinner. Herald looked at me and said, "No matter how many times I see it, spacial magic is still as surprising as the first time I saw it". I just shrugged and kept eating.
We kept talking for a while and as we were finishing our dinner I said "I'm sort of running out of cash so how about we head to one of the 3 dungeons nearby to earn some cash? The more people the safer it is so how about it?" The others looked at me and Ronia said "Sure, we were going to head to the Golem Caverns tomorrow anyways so how about we head there?". I just nodded my head and said "Sure, seems good to me" so we got up and started heading to our rooms. I went into my room on the second floor and sat on the bed after putting my armour into my inventory. "Man golems are going to be a pain in the ass to deal with. They are made of stone and crap so my sword will be practically useless. I wish I bought a hammer or something at the market. But at least it'll be good money". I said to myself as I started trying to recall some spells from the game. "I'm going to need to recall as many spells as possible and recreate them before tomorrow, to be as prepared as possible. I really don't want to be stuck as a poor bastard". I then started to practice a spell I recalled using near the beginning of the game, and started to try and recreate it. It was going to be a long night for me I thought as I sighed and got to work.
