But now, Hendrix was no longer used to sleeping alone. In fact, he couldn't fall asleep unless he was holding Noelle in his arms.
Sometimes, in the middle of the night, she would push his arm away and move to the other side of the bed. After waking up in panic, Hendrix would immediately pull her back and lock her firmly in his embrace. Only then would he feel at ease again.
Yet, that night, Hendrix didn't wake up once. Six hours of uninterrupted sleep left him feeling completely satisfied.
Noelle was still nestled in his arms. She looked peaceful in her sleep, with her long lashes resting softly and her lips pressed together.
Hendrix gently brushed away the strands of hair clinging to her face. He then leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, trailing downward as he went.
By the time Noelle woke up, it was already too late. Hendrix was already holding onto her calf, and when he noticed she was awake, he gave her a smile before leaning down to kiss her.
Noelle immediately turned her face away.
Hendrix knew what she was avoiding and merely chuckled softly. Instead of forcing her, he kissed her gently on her earlobe. Just as the intimacy on the bed was about to escalate, the doorbell suddenly rang from downstairs.
Hendrix had already laid off all of the previous household staff, which meant if they didn't go down to open the door, the doorbell would keep ringing.
Hendrix's expression darkened immediately, but he seemed reluctant to give in. He was still holding onto Noelle, unwilling to let go.
Noelle couldn't help but nudge him. "Why aren't you getting up?
Hendrix stared at her for a moment, but the relentless doorbell rang like urgent summons, one chime after another. Even if he wanted to stay, he had no choice but to get out of bed.
After picking up a robe from his floor and casually draping over himself, he walked to the intercom by the door.noveldrama
"Who is it?" he asked in an icy voice.
"Mr. Freeman, Mrs. Freeman sent me to bring you and Ms. Noelle to breakfast."
Hendrix immediately frowned. He had no idea what Beatrice was up to-sending someone to show up at his door early in the morning to insist on having breakfast together,
But since they were already at the door, Hendrix could only swallow his anger. "We'll be there in a bit." "Yes, Mr. Freeman. Shall we wait outside?"
Their attitude made it clear they weren't leaving without them.
Hendrix didn't respond, simply ending the intercom call abruptly.
Noelle had already overheard the conversation and was now heading toward the bathroom. Hendrix
followed after her. Just as she had finished squeezing toothpaste onto her toothbrush, he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist."

"You'll have to make it up to me tonight," he said.
