Chapter 327

Ophelia's mood was already bad, and hearing Noelle's laughter made her expression darken even further. "What are you laughing at?"noveldrama

"It's nothing. I'm just happy for you..." Noelle glanced at Hendrix.

He was also looking at her, seemingly waiting to see what kind of explanation she would come up with. When Hendrix heard Noelle's response, his eyebrows lifted slightly, followed by a chuckle. Unlike the earlier mockery and coldness, his smile now seemed more genuine, as though Noelle had really amused him.

But Noelle paid him no mind and continued speaking to Ophelia, "After all, you must be quite bored in this house. You should indeed feel happy for having such a filial grandson.

Once Noelle finished speaking, Ophelia did not respond.

She could certainly tell that Noelle hadn't been genuine in her words, but Noelle's words were crafted so smoothly that there was no obvious flaw. So even though Ophelia was angry, she could only swallow her feelings for the

moment.

Hendrix didn't pay attention to Noelle's words, either. He just looked at the person in front of him. "You're thinking too much. You're not qualified to compete with me."

From an outsider's perspective, it was undoubtedly a cold and mocking exchange between the couple aimed at Nathan

Nathan didn't know what to say in response. He just sat there with a stiff expression. Ophelia's tone also darkened. "Hendrix."

"I understand your

intention. Since this is your decision, I don't think I have the right to interfere. You can do as you wish. I have no objections. But don't expect me to fulfill any brotherly duties or guide him or anything like that.

"I've said it before. If you want what's best for him, let him live a humble life with his head down. Since he's now in front of me, don't blame me for whatever I'll do.'

Hendrix didn't wait for Ophelia's reaction. He simply grabbed Noelle's hand and left.

As soon as they stepped out of the dining room, they immediately heard something crashing to the floor behind them.

Then, Noelle heard Ophelia cursing, "Look at this! This is the son you've raised! Does he still respect his elders? Does he really think I'm dead?"

Noelle couldn't help but furrow her brows as she listened, instinctively slowing her steps.

Hendrix noticed it, and, of course, he could hear those words, too. But his expression remained unchanged.

In fact, after noticing Noelle's hesitation, he gave a firm tug and pulled her out of there. The two of them quickly

made it to the car.

Hendrix had put on an indifferent, dismissive facade in front of them earlier, acting as if Nathan meant nothing to

him.

But now, with just the two of them in the car, Noelle immediately noticed his hand gripping the steering wheel tightly. The veins bulging on the back of his hand made her heart skip a beat.

She didn't say anything, only turned her head to look out the window.

The mansion was still brightly lit, clearly unaffected by the events that had just transpired.

But Noelle quickly recalled Ophelia's last words. She hesitated for a moment before finally saying, "You

just left like that. Aren't you worried about Beatrice being put in a difficult position?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Hendrix chuckled. Then, be gritted his teeth and looked at her. "You and Mom really have a great relationship. The way you two care about each other even exceeds how much I care!"
