Chapter 324

Noelle couldn't snap out of it. Maybe it was because of the address, "sister-in-law", or maybe because of his name.

-Nathan Freeman.

So... he was Gerald's illegitimate son? How could he be here?

Countless thoughts flooded Noelle's mind until Grant came over and said, "Mr. Nathan, what are you doing here?"

Mr. Nathan...

Noelle's suspicions were confirmed, but her thoughts became even more jumbled up. At this point, why did the Freeman family bring Nathan back? Was there a change in the internal circle of Amity Group? Before Noelle could find an answer, Grant had already take Nathan away..

Before leaving, Nathan smiled at Noelle.

Noelle furrowed her brows even tighter. She stood there for a moment longer before realizing she still hadn't

called Hendrix.

→ Hendrix picked up quickly, but as soon as she heard his voice, Noelle suddenly didn't know what to say.

He seemed impatient. "What's the matter?"

"I'm at Freeman Manor."

Noelle was familiar with his tone. If things went as usual, he would hang up the phone in the next moment. So, she hurriedly spoke before he could hang up, "Grandma said we should come over for dinner together. If you're free... you can come."noveldrama

Hendrix didn't respond.

Then, Noelle added, "There's a guest here, so you should be mentally prepared."

To Hendrix, her reminder seemed a bit strange. Perhaps it was his imagination, but Noelle's words seemed to carry a hint of... tenderness.

Hendrix hadn't received such an emotional response from her in a long time. Suddenly, the anger that had been stirring in him for an entire day and night was somewhat soothed, even putting a pause on his plan to deal with Dylan.

As for the "guest" she mentioned, Hendrix didn't really pay attention to it. After a while, he finally stood up from his desk and walked out.

Dan looked at him in surprise. "Mr. Freeman, where are you going?"

Hendrix raised an eyebrow, and Dan quickly realized that his question was inappropriate. He hurriedly explained, "Mr. Mueller had scheduled dinner with you tonight. So, I thought you might...

"Cancel it," Hendrix said without a second thought as he entered the elevator.

After the summer solstice, the nights had been getting darker earlier. It was only around 6:00 pm, yet the streetlights had been turned on. The air still carried the heat that hadn't dissipated from the day.

Hendrix held the steering wheel with one hand, while his other hand pulled off his tie. After turning a few streets, Freeman Manor finally came into view.

Grant was already waiting at the door. As soon as he saw Hendrix's car, he approached him. "Mr. Hendrix, you're back"

at Grant."

Hendrix paused in getting out of the car, then turned to look did you just call me?"

Grant, already a little nervous, had thought that such confrontations would only happen between Hendrix and Ophelia. He never imagined that Hendrix would catch him on something as simple as an address. "Mr. Hendrix, please go inside," Grant said quietly.

Hendrix stared at him for a moment, then suddenly smiled his lips curling upward.

It was a smile, indeed. But to others, it carried a coldness that lingered, almost unsettling.

Inside the living room, everything seemed warm and pleasant. Ophelia sat in her grand chair, while Beatrice sat on a nearby single chair, her head lowered as she sipped her coffee.
