Chapter 629

Chapter 629:

She stepped closer, inspecting the weapon before giving him a sidelong glance. Something felt off. She took the gun from his hands, checking its calibration with a slight adjustment. “There, that’s better. Your shots are more scattered, making it easier to miss.”

Kellan just shrugged. “Just warming up. It’s fine.”

“What, Mr. Lloyd? Planning to get serious now?” Allison tossed the gun aside.

Their eyes met, and in an instant, both burst into laughter. Then, without warning, Allison lunged, launching a flurry of punches. They moved in perfect sync, as if it was all choreographed.

Kellan dropped low, using her airborne momentum to spin beneath her, attempting to catch her off guard.

But she was one step ahead.

With a swift twist, she intercepted his arm mid-swing, trapping it in a firm grip.

“Mr. Lloyd, you should know better than to leave yourself open like that.”

She twisted his arm, pivoting gracefully, and brought her leg down in a smooth, controlled motion.

Their sparring intensified, and the floor beneath them crackled. It was a dangerous dance; one wrong move and you were done for.

“You’re relentless, Allison,” Kellan grunted, tightening his grip on her ankle.

In a single fluid motion, he pulled her toward him, his arms encircling her.

But she responded in kind, her body coiling like a viper as she twisted out of his hold, her legs wrapping around him in a vice-like grip.

With a sharp crack, she had him pinned.

Kellan winced as his wrist strained, but he couldn’t suppress the grin spreading across his face.

In just a split second, the fight was over.

Allison applied a chokehold, bringing him to the floor with a victorious smirk.

“Rule one: ruthless moves make for long reigns,” she whispered, her eyes dancing with satisfaction.

She released him and helped reset his dislocated arm with practiced care. “You lost.”

Kellan let out a reluctant chuckle, nodding as he rubbed his shoulder. “Losing to you was expected. After all, I’ve been your designated punching bag from day one.”

They locked eyes, both still catching their breath, the heat of their tussle simmering in the space between them.

Neither wanted to let the moment end.

Kellan slid a hand down her waist.

“Mr. Lloyd,” she murmured, “can you even move that arm?”

His answer was wordless — a soft but insistent tug that brought her closer still, until their noses brushed.
