"I also won't sell the medical literature in my junkyard to them anymore. You can have it for free if you want," Felix added.
Matthew was grateful for the offer and said, "I'll take it, but I insist on paying."
Back then, Nicholas had tasked him to collect all the medical literature and tokens from the Eight Medical Sects.
Now, he wanted to build a traditional medicine library and rearrange all of the information on traditional medicine for everyone to access.
Upon hearing that, Felix flushed red with irritation and said, "I won't give you the books if you're gonna pay! You should know this about me I'm a pretty stubborn man.
"Back when I first married my wife, I didn't have any money, but my father-in-law insisted on a wedding gift of 200 thousand dollars.
"I got my wife pregnant in a fit of frustration and began my business afterward. Then, when my father-in-law saw that my wife was about to give birth, he came begging with gifts for me to marry his daughter." Matthew became speechless once he listened to this story. It made no sense-what did marrying his wife have to do with their current situation?
However, he understood Felix's intentions and said, "Alright then. I'll graciously accept your offer and take the books as you wish."noveldrama
After Matthew had finished speaking, he couldn't help but laugh at himself. He had become a person who took advantage of others, yet he appeared modest.
Meanwhile, Trevor looked toward Felix with a burning passion. "Felix, do you want to become a soldier?"
Felix returned his gaze for a moment and continued driving as he said, "No way! I don't want to."
His answer disappointed Trevor a little, but Trevor could hear the strong resistance in Felix's tone.
As such, Trevor asked, "Do you hate becoming a soldier that much?"
Felix shook his head. "I don't hate it. I'll become a soldier if we're in a war, but we're in a peaceful era now, so why would I become a soldier? I'm too busy trying to earn a living!"
Upon listening to Felix's words, Trevor came to a sudden realization-he felt that Felix's firm resolution to serve as a soldier only in war was worthy of respect.
The car sped all the way down the freeway and came to a halt 20 minutes later.
They were stopped by the gates, and Felix wound down the windows before he said to the security guard, "I'm looking for Seth, the reporter."
The guard then swept his eyes across the interior of the car and noticed that there were two other passengers in it. Then, he said, "Call him and pass the phone to me. I can only let you enter if he permits it." Right after, Felix called Seth and said, "Hello. It's me, Felix. The guy who collects old books for you."
Seth's reply came through the phone. "Did you collect another book listed in the booklist? That's great! You can hand the phone to the security guard."
Then, Felix passed the phone to the guard and watched as the guard spoke to Seth for a bit.
After the guard hung up, he said, "You're only allowed to enter alone, and you can't park your car inside."
At that, Felix turned to Matthew and said, "He won't let you enter, so how about this? I'll head in and buy back the book at a higher price. What do you think?"
There was an unsettling feeling stemming from within him as Matthew replied, "Alright. You can give it a shot. Hopefully, we'll be able to get it back.
"Just accept the price he quotes no matter the amount. Don't worry about the cost."
Then, Felix hummed and headed into the courtyard.
Inside an office on the third floor, where the publisher was located, Seth was smiling ear to ear as he said, "Mr. Maurice, does this mean that my green card is ready?"
Maurice was holding onto the
Scholarly Tradition with much glee. There were 36 precious medical literature in traditional medicine, and he finally got his hands on one He was sure to advance at least two levels with it.
"Buddy, your green card's already been processed, so you're an Eastorian from this moment on!" Maurice said.
"Really?" Seth rubbed his hands non-stop in delight and said, "That's great! Thank you so much! You're really too kind."
Maurice only smiled in reply. He knew that Seth didn't understand the true value of the medical literature. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been satisfied with just a green card.
"It's nothing much." Maurice waved it off.
All of it felt like a dream to Seth. Just how did he trade some shabby medical literature for a green card so easily?
As he looked at the medical literature in Maurice's hand, Seth spoke with confusion. "Mr. Maurice, this medical literature doesn't seem to be of much use.
"If it were that amazing, traditional medicine wouldn't have declined to this state. Could you tell me why you value this medical literature so much?"
Maurice smiled as he said, "You might think that this medical literature is useless, but it's only because you don't know how to use it that you think it's of no value.
"Do you understand what I'm trying
to say? You're all too foolish to
understand it! But it's a different story once it falls into our hands because we'll be able to bring out its true value!"
There was a pained expression that flashed within Seth's eyes, but it quickly vanished as he smiled. "Mr. Maurice, I'm not a part of the foolish people you mentioned. "Now that I've got a green card as an Eastorian, I'm not included in the list of those foolish people!"
Maurice was stunned, but he laughed aloud afterward. "Buddy, you're... you're so funny!"
Suddenly, the door to the office was knocked upon, and Seth smiled as he pointed to the door. "Here. The foolish person you mentioned has
come bringing medical literature for ust
