Chapter 615:
“Ms. Clarke, forgive me. This is entirely my fault. I owed his father a debt, so I took him in. But I never imagined he’d become so brazen.” Darrel took a deep breath. “He almost caused a disaster. I’ll make sure he pays, but please, don’t take his life over this.”
With that, he dropped to his knees.
The crowd gasped.
No one could have predicted that a man of Darrel’s status would kneel before Allison, not to beg for mercy, but to take responsibility.
“I have no right to stay here any longer. Now that you’ve returned, please, find someone to replace me.” Stunned silence fell.
Everyone knew Darrel loved Sunset Hill, treating it like his own home and overseeing its care with the utmost dedication. Even the animals were under his watchful eye.
But one foolish nephew had now put everything at risk!
Allison didn’t respond right away, her cold, calculating gaze fixed on Darrel.
“I despise violence, Mr. Brennan. So, I suggest you send your nephew somewhere far away.”
Her tone was steady, almost indifferent. “As for you — Sunset Hill has thrived under your management all these years. Santino, though, was only using borrowed power to bluff his way around. Consider yourself demoted.”
Darrel blinked in stunned silence, his eyes widening slightly as he absorbed the news. The shock softened to resignation, and he gave a slight nod. “Understood, Ms. Clarke. I’ll ensure he is permanently removed from Sunset Hill. He won’t set foot in Ontdale again.”
Without another word, he turned to Santino. “You’re done here! Stop causing trouble for Ms. Clarke, or I’ll break your leg myself!”
Santino’s face turned pale as he dropped to his knees. “Darrel, please! Don’t do this — I can explain!”
Although Darrel had always been strict, he had never been this harsh with Santino before. After all, Santino had kept his dirty secrets well under wraps in the past. But today, he’d messed up big time!
Darrel’s patience was already worn thin. He wasn’t interested in hearing excuses. “Ms. Clarke spared your life. Show some gratitude.”
Santino, sensing just how deep he was in, turned his pleas to Allison, reaching out in desperation.
“Ms. Clarke, please… I know I was wrong…”
He pleaded on his knees, reaching for Allison’s pant leg.noveldrama
Before he could even touch her, Kellan gripped his wrist, his voice deadly calm. “Touch her again, and you’ll lose that hand!” Kellan’s ominous aura was terrifying.
The threat sent a chill down Santino’s spine. Swallowing hard, he pulled his hand back, still pleading.
“Please, Ms. Clarke. I’ll do anything…”
