Chapter 7: The guild war

"I think she's on par with ."

That was the words of regarding the 0-stats girl, Illusive Sprout.

While they are members of different guilds, it's not like they never talk to each other. If anything, they would be similar to friends trash-talking each other. Old acquaintances and all that.

From time to time, they would share important information with each other, especially about events that can challenge the status quo.

, owner of [Summon Stone ], is nigh-invulnerable in large-scale battles, thanks to his beast's special skill, [Rebirth]. It is a bird that automatically revives itself after dying.

Definitely a phoenix, hence .

Out of the big guilds in the game, he's the most outstanding player. And here was casually saying that he has just gotten some competition.

The remaining big guilds are also strong in their own ways, but individually, they are not game-breaking as much.

So the potential new anomaly may become the next big guild master, which means even more competition on strategic level.

On the other hand, is known to be an information hoarder. She would not outright lie, but she has omitted critical information in the past.

It's not a lie, technically, was her excuse.

's main force is busy at the Magnus Bestia's location, while for the most part committed themselves to fighting the Nox Terminus at the world's border. Both are at quite a distance from Tyrel.

Hence, only and , whose main operations are not (directly) involved with exterminating monsters, were capable of responding to Illusive Sprout.

____________

The tavern is currently eerily empty, with only the two waitresses and a few customers. Even they hastily grab some food from the counter and just dash out.

WTF that's stupid LOL

## Manly Warrior

Respawned players started fighting in town. Arm yourself.

P/S: Considering how some historical wars started, this one is realistic enough.

------

____________

It all started with a small prank in mind.

Illusive Sprout was last seen in the forest, so gathered whoever he could and began flooding the area.

Apart from the level 15 Merexxa, the forest itself is only in the range of level 5 to 10. Considering the target's strength, it's unlikely she could even go into the deeper parts.

She's interesting enough to warrant a 2000 Gold bounty from , so wanted to have her secrets for himself.

The average level of merchants is lower than that of fighters who spent the same amount of play time, because sitting in market does not really give you experience. However, getting to level 5 can be done in 1-2 days, so there was no shortage of volunteers.

More than a hundred players compose the main search party, gathering around to search every nook and cranny. This "group" act as the main fighting force in case other smaller guilds get in their way. The remaining guild members just spread out in all directions as forward scouts, and grind materials while they are at it.

In a way they were acting like the combat-crazed guild.

_ Member (Guild): Found someone with similar appearance, but with [Grass] equipment! 's waitresses are eating with her!

She has unique appearance, and if the waitresses are with such random stranger, it's almost guaranteed that said person is the wanted sprout, or at least someone of great interest.

_ Olkan (Guild): Keep your distance. They have crazy detection range. Main force, follow my lead!

The scouts were definitely spotted since they were close enough to have eyes on target, but they would be disregarded as random players passing by as long as they don't have suspicious movement.

By the time of the encounter, they will surely have food buffs, but it is to be expected as they were supposedly grinding materials. Even with their combat prowess, doubts anyone can win when outnumbered 20 to 1.

It was already decided that some fight would break out.

After all, he can't let grow even stronger than they already are!

Blinded by the fame of the waitresses, no one considered the Illusive Sprout a war asset. She was the treasure chest filled with rares in the merchants' mind.

____________

When and meet, the shield party forms.

The shield party is equipped with best MDF-heavy shields and gather around , as is famous for her maxed [Dark Bolt]. It was an easy to acquire skill, but she abused it so much that it became a doomsday weapon. It is also homing, so it's pretty much impossible to dodge unless target maxes out their SPD or use something to take the hit for them, like a summon or another player.

The physics system made by Sateri-chan is very robust, so there's no "Selective targeting" which allowed players to hit targets regardless of allies in the vicinity like games of older generations. Area-of-effect skills are strong in the alpha strike, but once enemies and allies mix together, accurate attacks are a requirement lest you hit your own team.

The other waitresses retreated before they could be encircled completely. They must have seen the massive amount of players around them and decided to wait outside for reinforcement.

It was either holding out until reinforcement arrives, or organizing a counterattack for them. They chose the latter, at the expense of their own party leader and treasure chest. Maybe they thought they have a better chance reclaiming the treasure chest when backed by other guild members.

are way out of position, so was not particularly in a hurry.

____________

While not exactly his type, Illusive Sprout was amusing to talk to.

She has this carefree attitude that just won't go away even under pressure. Even then, she knows what she is doing. During the villainous conversation with , she was having the expression of "I'm enjoying a B-rate romcom", completely free of worries.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

That made really go all out with acting like a bad guy. Well, he IS a bad guy, as he does mean what he says, but he's not that hell-bent on making things hard for anyone.

He is kind of hell-bent on inviting to his guild, on the flip side. too, but he needs more DEX to avoid biting his tongue for saying that name more than once every five minutes, so his intention regarding her is less well-known.

is a person who loves all big-boobs women.

____________

The PvP has begun.

PK penalty is only applied if killed player has not retaliated. If the player deals damage to other players, or perform support actions to attacking player, it becomes a fair game for everyone.

That status does not display, so most of the time in PvP, players simply attack the nearest known "hostile" players.

It works quite well for small numbers of participants, but when so many players gather in a small area, it is hard to identify friends and foes. Not having a visible guild crest to know who is in which guild makes it more akin to a free-for-all rather than a guild war.

This is where old players of the closed beta provide their wisdom, for they also suffered the same pain in the past.

_ Torenis (PM): Back then, we made one when there was none.

Such was the advice of the guild master.

Following the same way wars have been waged in the past, they bring forth the power of Sateri-chan's procedural generation of crafting recipes, and create…

Flags.

, please craft your flag with three circles in triangular position emphasizing your obsession with coins. Use the following recipe if you have never created one.>

Every player who are not already occupied simultaneously scream internally with the worldwide casual verbal abuse from the two waitresses in the tavern.

In chaotic confusion, people tend to follow whatever clear objective available, even if it is a bit absurd. There will be fake flags, there will be non-compliances, but on the large scale, it does not matter. Real life humans, as a whole, like to know who the enemy is, and will gladly follow the given instruction.

And for the minority who do not want to follow…

<>

The few people who were present in the tavern at the time got to see the expression of the two sisters, who would later post that nightmarish vision on the board and give the waitresses their nickname.

"Bloodbath Sisters", for their involvement and encouragement of the game's first mass PvP ever since release.

Players now know the "enemies", stop probing the opponents in front of them, and start fighting all-out even when they know they may be fighting against oblivious "civilians". Without hesitation, they strike.

Because someone has made the difficult decision for them already.

Not that it was difficult for the waitresses to give such morally questionable directives, since it is a game, and their personalities are a big help.

All in all, they are members of , yet they are newcomers and have no attachment to it. They helped both "allies" and "enemies" alike, knowing the end result will be more organized battles and therefore higher casualties. The two are just here to enjoy the bloody carnage that is happening~

Especially the streamed battle of which is so cruel and desperately needs a censorship on it!

However, it would have been nice to make a discount instead of on-the-house offer, now that they are dealing with a huge amount of just arrived or respawned players. And materials were running low too~

They will pay the expense using 's treasury so it'll be alright, probably.

The famous waitress corps refuses to have any kind of normal waitress whatsoever.

____________

In a far corner of the world, a big guild is taking on one of the strongest known monsters currently. The organizer of them is , holder of the first S-rank [Summon Stone].

His close friend, one of the guild's managers, turns to him.

_ Manager: Not going to do anything about this?

The guildmaster has been mindlessly doing this fight for a whole week, so he's half-daydreaming to kill boredom.

_ Torenis: Hmm? Sorry, wasn't paying attention.

_ Choruse (Guild): Master, do you have anything to help differentiate two sides in a large-scale battle?

_ Torenis: One sec, newbie called.

_ Torenis (Guild): Large-scale battle? Sateri-chan prefers not having "system support" for a lot of things, including "information" such as unknown players' affiliations. Back then, we made one when there was none. Colored armors, equipment quirks, hidden phrases, etc…

_ Choruse (Guild): …That was great advice. Thank you, Master.

_ Torenis (Guild): You're welcome.

_ Torenis: Sorry about that, so, where were we?

His beast has revived, so he summons it again and sends it on its way to its doom for the unknown-th times.

_ Manager: That's what I was talking about. The tavern just declared war on . Are you fine with that?

_ Torenis: …Our guild's tavern?

_ Manager: Check the message log, seriously.

A few seconds later.

_ Torenis: The hell is this?! Why the hell is fighting ?! And we did not mount any rescue operation!!!

The manager groans. Yeah, such reaction is expected, but should have happened the moment those members used [World Voice].

_ Manager: Why don't you tell them instead of me? is also a manager, so I half-expected you to do something about it, a while ago.

_ Torenis (Guild): , what the heck happened?! Why are we at war with ?!

_ Hessenria (Guild): Shut up will you! I am busy here!

_ Torenis (Guild): Anyone explain the situation!!!

_ Vulkerzelianna Merashiel (Guild): Sure~ Hessy was eloping with a little girl~, then the boobs-obsessed guildmaster…

_ Torenis (Guild): Any BUT you, PLEASE!

He's in an emergency here! There's no need for insanity-inducing explanations!

_ Nerin (Guild): Haaaa… We found the 0-stats, but want to keep her, and Hessy as a bonus, so she's fighting , and… probably his henchmen?

_ Torenis (Guild): Why is that a question?! Stop this at once! I will talk to !

_ Nerin (Guild): Everyone's having fun so… we don't mind? Ah, we are entering the fight now, so later.

_ Torenis (Guild): HEY!!!

The manager next to him can only give him a sympathetic pat on his back.

_ Manager: You have it tough.

_ Torenis: I am going to kick all of them after this!!!

Lately, with him spending time away from town, fades away from the (in-game) world stage. Instead, his manager, , became the main representative of to the general populace.

They are also becoming known as "BDSM club" too, but the hermit guildmaster has not known yet.

He's not worried about his position though. is both beautiful and powerful, but she is not special. She will never be able to do something like surpassing him in popularity and respect from other members.

After all, she will never be able to do something like fighting a Magnus Bestia like what he's doing now.

Doesn't mean she can just declare war just for the heck of it though!

_ Torenis (PM): Olkan, what are you doing?!

_ Olkan (PM): What? Isn't it too soon to negotiate surrender terms?

_ Torenis (PM): Stop screwing around! Why did you start a war?!

_ Olkan (PM): Technically, your people attacked first…

_ Torenis (PM): Don't "technically" me! One is already one too many!

_ Olkan (PM): I think it's fine? We are not allies in the first place. Though I'll admit, your waitresses are good at agitating people. There are a lot of players marching on us, and the lolicons are in too.

_ Torenis (PM): What. The. Hell?!

_ Olkan (PM): Tell you what? Since I'm having fun too, why don't we make a bet? If Illusive Sprout gets back to town safely with , you can take her in. If I acquire Illusive Sprout, you will not pursuit us. Fair conditions and keep things local, no?

_ Torenis (PM): You… what are you after?!

_ Olkan (PM): I'm a player, so what else could it be? Fun, coins, and boobs, obviously.

The last one is just Olkan's own preferences, irrelevant of being a player.

____________

Because of targeting rules of the game, even using a homing skill is not a guaranteed hit. Therefore, his tougher members are to close the distance, keep the target busy, and give the ultimate anti- weapon a certain chance to strike.

Which got blocked by a level 2 monster!!!

was dumbfounded when it happened. The blob, which appeared out of nowhere take a spell in its face that was supposed to destroy thousands of HP, survived despite all odds against it. If damage actually translates to physics, this gelatinous thing would not even have a particle of itself remains after such an attack.

Before he could further process the situation, the harsh mistress is already on the offensive again… is the guildmaster of a big guild, so even with his trump card wasted, he's not out of options, yet. For example, the beautiful shield his guild also made in preparation for 's (eventual) arrival!

Turns out, that helped, but not much! That rapid stabbing is not a skill! She is just pissed!

The accompanying shield users are capable, but their personalities are just as rotten as his! Took them a direct command to start moving again. It was close.

They have good equipment, and the fallen can be resurrected by the support behind him. She can't win in attrition.

Guns win firefights, tanks win battles, logistic wins the war. And in this game, no one has better logistic than !

Then she suddenly attacks so cruelly it isn't funny! He hasn't said anything to offend her… since the failed murder attempt at least!

The merchants are losing grounds, badly. Remaining players get into position to take their places. The fight is not over yet! As long as the priests are alive, 's practically unlimited mana potion stockpile will ensure their victory!

Once more, wars turn out to be a bit more complex than the plans made for them.

suddenly gains speed. Not from the anger, mind you. This game does not give buff based on that. This one is actual status buff, with tangible results, confirmed by the HP bar plummeting in 's status!

[Hessenria - Apprentice waitress - HP: =======…]

Even with many players engaging, her HP is still so high! Players can just call her a boss and no one would bat an eye.

Employing all available assets in his arsenal, struggles for his life.

An enemy that gets stronger and stronger, yet does not reach the point of hopelessness. An uphill battle that will result in so many losses, but with a victory always in sight. For the merchants of , they prefer playing around in the market, seeing the number of coins in their inventory shoots up. However, they are now in mortal combat, and they are feeling it.

The desperation and excitement of a final boss fight.

_ Olkan: ONWARD! TO VICTORY!

_ Members: FOR THE HOPE AND DREAMS! FOR THE BOOBS!

It was lively as always.

And no one remembers the original goal they came for in the first place.

____________

The tavern is, for the first time, quieter than the area surrounding it. Materials ran out, so players can only get food if they give the materials to the waitresses to cook. Outside, respawned players are killing each other to hinder opposition reinforcement to the main battlefield. Even the marketplace in 's part of the town is now littered with players' bodies rather than stalls.

--- Topic: Operation Zero Glory master thread ---

I contacted other waitresses and DFC Sages but they seem to be in special operations and cannot provide streams. Hopefully will change.

Someone please make an after-action report thread. We are going to need it after event ends, guaranteed.

## Manly Warrior

Leave AAR thread to me. You keep moderating this one.

BB losing against a single waitress. ( ̄□ ̄;)

That was out-of-character for our harsh cold mistress, which has never happened.

##

## Curious big boobs elf

That's blatant bias against BB Conglomerate by OP (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Look at Olkan's stream, that monster in waitress disguise is the bad guy here!

##

## CuteIsJustice

Requesting to change 3rd link to Bloodbath Sisters. Someone posted their expression earlier and it was beautifully terrifying. (Cute girls thread)

The main forces of Phoenix Ashes entered forest btw. The ones not doing Magnus Bestia at least. So did DFC Sages.

##

## Mage of Sin

Hessenria is really out-of-character. Gap moe~

Maybe her motherly instincts kicked in for the little Illusive Sprout?

Let's poll for her to be the mother, LOL

##

## Heaven Piercer

Poll thread created. [Link]

Fought against (read: stepped on by) Hessenria in the past. Did she get a level up from the motherly instincts?

And BB is definitely the villain here. Stop bullying cute girls!
