Tamer Shadyna is here, along with my immeasurable disappointment!
After a long walk to the northwest as suggested by Hessy the scary waitress, we found a boss alright.
A level 21 boss, guarded by a horde of angry-looking beetles. Yeah, there's no problem about its "boss-ness".
The name is [Terra Blossom Alrufestion].
It's a giant frigging flower of all things!!!
Of all plant-related stuff I experienced in the game, there's a common trait between them: They are pretty much immobile.
We are looking for a mount beast, not a bonsai pot!!!
Technically, you can ride that. Climb on it, and sit there for a nice cup of tea, because a plant is not going to move. Un, it was right out the moment I needed to use "technically".
No offense to you, Gelly, but you weren't moving much either when I first found you.
_ Fensen: Uhm, do I have to ride it?
_ Shadyna: By the time you can make it move back to town, the last boss would have destroyed the world a few times over.
_ Fensen: Sorry, I have no idea what you are saying again~
_ Poltea: It doesn't look really fast…
_ Shadyna: You don't say… Let's find a different boss.
We are not looking for loot in particular, and even if we were I would not necessarily resort to violence… Unless it's an unescapable boss fight.
If I encounter one such fight again Sateri is going to regret it~
_ ???: Stop right there, kill-stealing scum!
Welp, something weird has appeared again!
Behind us, quite a few players have gathered. While not as numerous as that time when
Is there a way to grind [Detect Presence] quickly? I don't like getting snuck up on like this. If possible, I want to see them before they could hit me with their longest ranged attack.
_ Fensen: Ah, it's the angry party that was fighting the golem!
I suppose walking leisurely with said big golem is not a good way to hide yourself. Whoopsie~
_ ???: And I will make you suffer what you made us go through! [Fire Bolt]!
A very normal looking fireball flies past us, right into the plant boss.
…Eh? We aren't the targets?
The beetle minions aren't amused, and come charging, as expected of your typical boss's minions. I wonder if we could tame one of those instead of the boss… they sure seem to be faster than the plant itself.
But then it wouldn't be a tamed boss…
_ ???: Die horribly, plebs! [Recall]!
Please do not trash-talk in front of children, you hater~
So uh… he ran away after attacking the boss. What gives?
The attacking beetles pause for a short moment besides us, then continue charging at presumably the rest of the surrounding parties.
_ ???: Wait, why?! RUN!!!
Seriously, what the heck are you guys doing? Did you really aggro the boss thinking its whole gang wouldn't pile on you?
_ Shadyna (PM): Hessy~, what's the point of hitting a boss and using [Recall] right after?
_ Hessy (PM): Did… someone pull that on you? Bosses will attack anything in its range including non-combatants once aggro-ed, so doing that hit-and-run thing is a common way to PK without penalty.
_ Shadyna (PM): Is that so~
_ Hessy (PM): Send me the footage later so I can embargo that coward.
_ Shadyna (PM): Sure thing~ but shouldn't you worry about my safety first?
After all, the plan was to unleash a boss on me! Please at least ask if I am alive or something!
_ Hessy (PM): Okay. Is the boss safe?
_ Shadyna (PM): Why the boss?!
_ Hessy (PM): Because it's the one in danger, trying to kill you.
I don't remember raising Hessy to be like this!!!
So their goal is killing us by irony. But for some reason the boss's minions think they were more delicious and went at them. Now it's death by double irony.
_ Unfortunate warrior: Why did these mobs aim at us?!
_ Unfortunate mage: GAH! Get it off me!!!
I have never fought a boss with minions, but from what I am seeing, these supposedly fodders for the main thing are pretty powerful themselves.
And why the heck are you just… there, not doing anything, you useless boss?! Are you the type of boss that cripplingly specialized in minions?!
_ Poltea: Sh-Shadyna, should we… do something?
_ Fensen: I want to tame one of those beetles~
_ Shadyna: Of course we have to do something.
_ Poltea: We are helping the monsters?!
_ Fensen: What about me?
_ Shadyna: Do the same thing on the boss and tame it. I don't think we are going to get to another boss here in peace.
Even if I blast all of the players here, they can simply return to annoy us. Ah, what a pain…
_ Fensen: Roger~ Heya~
_ Poltea: Is this going to be alright… Ya~
_ Shadyna: [Combat Support]! [Potential Manifest]!
Think pot-buffed boss was scary? How about pot-and-magic-buffed boss you stalking hot-tempered jerks~
_ Unfortunate mage: I'm dead! Res!!!
_ Unfortunate warrior: Retreat! Retreat! Use [Mass Recall]!
_ Unfortunate priest: On it! Oh holy light, heed my…
_ Shadyna: [Teleport].
I appear in front of the casting priest, who is completely taken by surprise.
_ Shadyna: [Summon]. [Leap]!
Because I am stationary after [Teleport], I need to do something to quickly accelerate you see~
As mundane as [Leap] is, it has way too much synergy with my [Accelerate Power]…
*WHAM*
_ Extraordinarily unfortunate priest: GUAH!!!
Good to see Gelly (Emphasis: Not me~) still doing 6-digit damage even with Sateri's nerf. It's a lot, but considering how I am having all the buffs known to the playerbase along with 800+ base attributes… Un, it's nerfed to oblivion. Still way too OP for an average player though.
_ Unfortunate warrior: NOOOOO!!!
Yes~
_ Dead mage: A little girl…
It would be a problem if another player uses [Mass Recall], so let's snipe all the priest-looking ones. Pacifism through complete extermination of enemies, go!
_ Shadyna: [Teleport]!
I need to get a vantage point to locate my target. Nowhere screams "High ground" as much as the clear blue sky!
Okay, not really clear, since we are in a grove, and a grove is known to have… trees. It's the thought that counts right?
_ Dead mage: Murdering people with a green blob…
_ Shadyna: Gelly, attack!
Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site.
*WHACK*
_ Extremely unfortunate priest: GUH!!!
_ Unfortunate warrior: Shield the healers! We will be dead if they die!
Thanks for gathering around potential targets. Now I am sure which one I need to shoot at.
Catching Gelly and throwing it up into the air, I [Teleport] again to its side.
_ Dead mage: And the distinctive sprout on her head…
Please stop the dead monologue. You are ruining the immersion~
_ Shadyna: Go~
*BOOM*
Because they are trying to block Gelly, I just throw it to the ground to create the AoE effect.
_ Dead warrior: ACK!
_ Dead mage: She's the Particle Lolider! Everyone RUN!!!
Now that's the first time someone calls me by that title in my face. Because I am still holding a grudge over that, I will make sure you guys suffer twice the pain!
_ Will-be-target priest: Blessings of the Boobs…
This guy is definitely OUT!!!
*BLAM*
_ Probably-last-target priestess: SOMEONE SAVE ME!!!
That's not even a chant anymore! [Teleport]!
*WHAM*
This [Teleport] [Leap] combination is kind of broken, really. While I cannot [Teleport] with Gelly while it's summoned, I can just throw it into the sky and use [Teleport] to catch it midair to throw again. As long as the destination is in my sight I can use [Teleport] without having to input the coordinates, so rapid [Teleport] is at full power!
It costs a lot of MP, sure. It doesn't matter to my massive MP pool though…
I leave the rest of the players to the rampaging buffed minions. It was so one-sided already, having me doing non-pacifist stuff is not going to change it much~
A few players managed to use [Recall] items to escape. Using consumables is way too fast so I couldn't throw Gelly in time. Oh well~
_ Dead warrior: Damn hax!!! Reported!
_ Dead priest: -Censored- cheater!!!
Because they start throwing profanities despite kissing the ground, I throw Gelly again at them to destroy their corpses. Hope you guys aren't doing a (technical) deathless run like Elri~
[Condition fulfilled. Unlocked Title: "Corpse Defiler"]
[Condition fulfilled. Unlocked Title: "Corpse Destroyer"]
Nice…?
As for the ones who haven't thrown swear words at us…
They are being eaten by the beetles.
_ Last-target priestess: LEAVE MY CORPSE ALONE!!!
Haven't seen this corpse eating thingy in a while. It certainly was less noisy back then. Maybe it's the dead player count?
_ Poltea:
_ Shadyna: Something something karma's a canine with XX chromosomes. I don't mind you resurrecting them, but if they attack again…
I might just try [Refinery] on them you know~ See if I can get a nice title out of it~
_ Poltea: I'll… do my best.
Why do you have that terrified expression even though I haven't said anything?!
_ Fensen:
That took longer than expe…
_ Fensen: It didn't react when I used the potion on it, so I plucked it out!
Remind me why we still aren't being targeted by the minions again?
And what the hell do you mean, "Plucked it out"?! I don't remember raising you to be like Hessy!!!
It's not a flower anymore. It is a chubby glowing bulb with the flower on top. It's actually vegetable!? Sateri, calling it a "Blossom" is false advertising!
Un,
_ Shadyna: So, uh, does it have any interesting skill?
Considering how useless this thing was during the whole fight, I am entitled to be a bit skeptical of its abilities.
_ Fensen: Let's see… the menu should be here…
Meanwhile,
_ Fensen: It has this skill called [Deep Tunnel]…
[Deep Tunnel: Manipulate the earth to open an underground tunnel connecting to the destination. Allow rapid relocation as long as the tunnel entrances stay open. Range increases with skill level.]
Hoooo~ I like the sound of that.
_ Shadyna: Try using it~
Ultimate world-ending skills are the hopes and dreams of all adventurers trying to save the world, but it's the whacky niche skills that have more potential for… unintended usages~
_ Shadyna: Ah wait, let me buff it first. [Combat Support]! [Potential Manifest]!
While I doubt there's much of a difference, it is certain that every skill I have is affected by my stats, one way or another. Casting buffs is almost free to me anyway, so no need to hesitate!
…It's not going to open a tunnel to the other side of the world map, right?
_ Shadyna: And wear this too,
_ Fensen: Oh~ Power up, get~!
_ Shadyna: …Last time I checked, LDR was considered useless most of the time.
_ Fensen: Eh~
_ Shadyna: Stand still. [Potential Manifest]. Now,
That should maximize the amount of LDR bonus on the flower.
I don't want to check its stats. It will be so overpowered it's not funny. Saying that, I'm a bit curious whether it is as strong as the weird mask now…
_ Fensen: Righto~! In the name of gunpowder, explosives and firepower, I will decim…
_ Shadyna: Out! Out!!!
Who the hell taught you that?!
_ Fensen: Aw~ and I thought it was such a cool line to start my attacks with…
Generally, the best line to begin your attacks is dead silence so your target would not notice you. Mostly applied to PvP though…
_ Fensen: [Deep Tunnel]~!
The ground below me disappears.
…Eh? EEEHHHHH?!?!?!
_ Shadyna: GYA!!!
Before I could understand what the hell was going on, I fell into a pitch black hole that is definitely not looking like a nest filled with monsters of questionable media!
*WHOOSH*
Now I'm falling… up? Seriously?
Without doing anything other than letting gravity handle my movement, I get thrown out of the hole I fell into.
_ Shadyna: Oof.
I stabilize and land without problem. Don't want to land on my butt because that would hurt!
…Ah, it's not the hole I fell into. Definitely not with
Behind me, the big hole leading to the abyss is there. I wonder if it's two-way…?
Let's fine out! Jump~!
Weeeeeee~
*FWHOOSH*
It's as if I get teleported somewhere in the depths, for I am not feeling any horizontal movement during the whole transition between entrances.
I have to admit, this is a bit fun~ Oh, and it's two-way.
_ Shadyna: By the way,
If [Deep Tunnel] is the only way for this boss to relocate, it's going to be a royal pain.
And since it's floating, I think it can somewhat fly? Does this game has flying?
_ Fensen: Un, like this.
Still sitting on the flower,
Sigh, I should have seen that coming. Some SPD gear crafting is in order, definitely.
_ Shadyna: It is a bit slow, but that can be fixed. For now, we have achieved the objective of getting a pet!
_ Fensen: Yay~!
_ Poltea: Y-yay~…
_ Shadyna: Welcome back,
_ Poltea: They used [Recall] to go back after I used the [Resurrect] item.
I'm surprised they left so peacefully. I half-expected at least more curses thrown at our general direction before their departure.
_ Poltea: I managed to explain the misunderstanding… They quietly accepted and left, but I think they were glancing at you,
_ Shadyna: No idea why that would be the case~ I am just a normal pacifist player.
_ Poltea: Pacifist… right…
_ Fensen: Hey,
_ Poltea: "Cool" is not the word I would use…
_ Shadyna: "Cute", you mean.
_ Fensen: Aw…
It's a compliment, why are you so disappointed?!
_ Poltea: B-by the way…
_ Shadyna: Yes~?
_ Poltea: Should I do it too…? Trying out this [Disperse] skill…
_ Shadyna: …You know, please tell me all the skills your pets have.
Always reveal important information first and foremost so you don't have to be the unlucky dude who dies trying to tell the hero the last boss's weakness!
Then, skill testing time~
_ Poltea: [Disperse]!
When used, the golem breaks apart into small pebbles! Even the glowing core just… drops onto the ground along with the rocks… What. The. Heck?!
_ Poltea: Kya! Mister Golem!!!
[Inspect]!
…No, it's not dead. There's no "dead" part in the result.
_ Fensen: That's… a lot of puzzle pieces.
Are you seriously going to put them together by hand?!
_ Shadyna: Try using it again, I suppose?
_ Poltea: Wouldn't it turn into fine sand?!
Huh, didn't think of that. Knowing Sateri, that's… quite a possibility?!
_ Shadyna: You mentioned a skill called [Assemble]. Why not try that?
_ Poltea: U-un. [Assemble]!
Like the doing of a poltergeist, the broken pebbles start moving and form back into the golem again, much to the relief of poor
By the way, the glowing core reminds me of [Laetque Eye]. You guys aren't relatives, right?
Pondering about questions of the century like that, we move deeper into the grove.
____________
_ Swordman: Finally got a tamed beast!
_ Spearman: Gratz!
_ Mage: One step closer to world domination!
The new tavern is so noisy, it makes the previous one seem like a quiet dead of night. That, and someone having big news for the player base.
_ Hessenria: How was it? Taming a beast, I mean.
_ Swordman: It was rough… Did Illusive Sprout not teach you?
Sighing as if giving up, the harsh mistress shakes her head lightly.
_ Hessenria: First, I have no idea what "try playing with it" means. Second, it is ill advice to try anything that maniac does. Roaming around picking a fight with a boss in the middle of a raid being one of them.
_ Swordman: …You have it rough too huh.
As much as he wanted to pat the waitress, survival instincts prevent him from doing so. He does not need more pain and suffering after what he just went through!
_ Hessenria: That aside, what's with the taming attempt?
_ Swordman: Right, I tried healing and buffing it. You know, the usual beneficial stuff. The damn thing attacked me right as I did that!
_ Hessenria: Really? That's unusual… She never mentioned anything about getting attacked by the Jelleaf…
_ Swordman: Well it sure hit me as hard as it could! If it weren't for my high defense I would have bitten the dust before it submitted!
_ Hessenria: So it will become tamed after a while?
_ Swordman: …And by constantly healing the damn thing, yeah. Dunno what would happen if we attacked it. Didn't dare try.
_ Hessenria: I see. As always, food on the house in exchange. What would you like today?
If that's how taming works, a tamer surge is probably not going to happen, thinks

My summon just got this Evolve skill out of nowhere. Can anyone tell me what it is?
##
## StoneHoarder
Congratz, that means your pet qualifies for evolution. The conditions are random even for pets of the same species, so usually you need an identification shop to Inspect it, or accidentally unlock the skill like you did.
Look into community guides for summoners for more details.

There's a rumor that you unlock rarer evolutions by performing unconventional feats. That's why no one else has been able to get a summon like Torenis of Phoenix Ashes.

## Serious Mage
In his case, it involved crafting of some sort. He was grinding and buying materials for a whole week during closed beta.
That might explain his pet's absurdities. It was a big investment on his part.
