The Little Princess! (Part 3)

The Little Princess! (Part 3)

As soon as we arrived at the fountain mentioned, then I realized the fountain in question was not an ordinary fountain, but something formed from the remnants of a battle.

A stream of water that was quite heavy was still flowing endlessly in the middle, trapped by a transparent field that kept it from getting out of the formation, flowing through small fragments of a large ruin, forming a beautiful spiral that might be deadly. Judging from the fast currents and sounds that are quite scary.

Surrounding this wondrous phenomenon, a knee-high white circular platform was built that I guessed was a safety net in case something bad happened, seeing lines of runes engraved around its surface.

From the center of the circle which was deliberately left blank because it was where the 'fountain' was located, a bluish light radiated from below, looking like a beautiful glass with streaks of tiny bluish light, the size of needles, moving up.

The blue light seemed to give the impression of being confined like an aquarium. At the same time, it gave a beautiful touch to a catastrophe that reached more than 15 meters high and almost took up the entire downtown area.

Not only am I amazed watching the fountain, many people who I don't think are from here, are also curious about events that might end up being a massacre.

It is inconceivable that someone or something could withstand this much power and let it remain active without endangering the people around it.

So that not a few traders sell their wares on the outskirts of the downtown area which is intentionally made wide enough to fit 3 horse-drawn carriages to line up without having to huddle together which is now full of various kinds of living creatures.

"Can you imagine how scary people's fights were in the dark ages? We are lucky to be born in this world when everything is peaceful" Said a man of the Elf race while chewing the food he bought from a street vendor.

The Orc he was talking to, took a deep breath, took five different pieces of food from him with a disappointed expression "You are an Elf, you shouldn't act like my race.

Why is it that I am more elegant and tidy than you who is always hungry every time you meet a food seller?

And this kind of fight still happens frequently in our time, but is hidden in certain places. You have no idea how vicious their battle for Glory is especially when Natural gets involved."

Because of what he said, I took a closer look at the Orc's attire and found that he did look neater than the other Orcs who preferred tough looks.

He actually looks.. Smart?

Somehow I seem to see a nerd in the form of an orc in him.

Could it be that their souls were switched at birth?

But those Elves should be much older considering their lifespan is much longer.

"Ahh you're right! Glory Hunt!" He replied excitedly with burning eyes like a child who was about to watch their favorite tv show "If I'm not mistaken, I heard that this time many were seriously injured in the 11th Glory Hunt?

Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel.

Yes, it was the 11th.

There are even two Naturals who are still in critical condition because of it, making me think, it turns out that the G-Hunters aren't all that bad. Being able to flipped two Naturals like that, is an honor."

"You speak of life as if it were a tribute" replied the Orc disapprovingly.

"Oh come on, I'm only speaking from the perspective of the G-Hunters. They must be proud to have taken down two Naturals.

For fellow Naturals themselves, it is difficult to bring each other down, moreover for those who feel it is impossible. How many times have we heard the phrase, 'Glory can never pass Natural' and look now! Two of us have fallen, doesn't that interest you a bit?" he retorted excitedly.

The orc sighed again.

But this time he nodded in agreement, eating one of the elf's food who frowned in disapproval "You're right. Even if we say it's the wrong thing, for those who experience it themselves, it's definitely a lifetime chance.

I don't know how I should behave if I were in their shoes, considering the treatment our people treat those who don't have a chance to experience magic..."

He closed his eyes, trying to suppress any regrets.

"We've never done it, but not a few of us who discriminate against them. I'm afraid there will be new problems with the emergence of another world yesterday. They mainly contain people who really don't have any power at all, but have knowledge that is almost on par with the Tower of Fate."

The Elf's expression turned serious.

He thought for a moment, then turned back to the orc "I wonder what they are doing now. Can they survive in this world without power?

Let's be realistic, do you think they can defend themselves? Because personally, they have the greatest possibility of being massacred."

"I agree. Even if they survive, there are only two options left, become a G-hunt or at worst and I hope never happens, slavery.

Hopefully there won't be another bad thing like that. Only those who have no heart, enslave other people and use them to fulfill selfishness," replied the orc furiously, trying to hold back the anger that was about to explode.

I think that even though it has a unique trait, the blood of an Orc still runs in it. The blood of a fearless tough warrior.

"Hey hey calm down, there's no need to waste energy on something that hasn't happened yet. Even if it does, we'll just have to look for it and destroy it, like we always do. So, calm down...

I'm not really interested in hearing the rest of their conversation.

I have found some important information and the princess has come back from buying two sizeable biscuits with cold cream inside.

The biscuits feel so smooth and soft when bitten, giving a comforting impression which is then followed by a surprise of sweet cold cream as a final touch.

Giving new memories that will not be easily replaced and carve a smile on the face. The smile that made the princess jump for joy, succeeded in making me feel homesick for this place, for her presence.

"It's good isn't it? They call it the 'Winter Coat'. This is one of my favorite snacks! I knew Zent would like it too. How is it? You feel satisfied and calm right? Hehe, mission accomplished!" She shout happily, holding my hand again and leading me to a stage that had been prepared not far ahead, close to the fountain.

But due to being too excited talking to me about the event that was about to start, the princess didn't really pay attention to the direction she was headed and accidentally collided with a grown man before I could give a warning.

The princess fell, sat on the ground while wincing in pain.

I rushed over, knelt beside her, asked "Is Princess all right?" Which was answered with a nod of the head and a big smile.

"Of course! Did Zent forget? I am someone who is brave and someone who is brave wouldn't back down just because she fell!" she answered proudly, then got up with me and started dusting off her dress.

"That is a very good attitude young lady" Said the man who was now walking closer.

However, before he could get any closer, I intercepted him, standing in front of the princess with a completely unfriendly face. Or rather asking him to stay away.

Because even though there was a smile on that face, I didn't find any friendly feelings from this person at all, instead I felt danger.

And those pair of violet eyes, as if to say..

"Hmm, what an interesting soul"
