Continuing The Journey

Continuing The Journey

Several hours have passed since we had our meal together. The adorable twins are still sound asleep, satisfied by the meat that made them ask their elder sibling to bring it home another time, which, of course, is not possible.

Just stealing two apples had already resulted in being kicked out of an airship, so what about meat?

Fortunately, the grey hair pulled out various kinds of food from the ring he were wearing, with the condition that they should eat it slowly, three times a day, and no more. Once it's finished, they won't be able to enjoy it again.

The twins, of course, nodded in agreement, with their elder sibling saying, "If only they would listen to me like that."

Now, the three of us are standing outside the hut, reluctant to leave the three young elves who appear so peaceful in their sleep, even though their position is messy. However, the reflection of sunlight begins to appear in the eastern sky, coloring it with a beautiful orange hue.

A sunrise.

"Let's go, it will be much harder for us to leave once they wake up," said the grey hair, stepping forward, not wanting to hear any objections.

From the tight grip of his clenched fists, it can be seen that he's actually restraining themselves from turning back to bid farewell to them.

The black hair smiled, following from behind and draping his right arm over his best friend. "Be happy! This is not a farewell! I'm sure we'll meet them again someday, and who knows, maybe they'll already be grown-up by then, successful individuals who have achieved their dreams. Isn't that more joyful?" He tried to make Zhao Feng at least smile, even though he knows it's hard.

Zhao Feng sighed. "Don't worry, I'm sure they'll succeed. Now we need to refocus on our mission," he said calmly.

The black hair smiled warmly upon hearing that, and together they guided me towards the kingdom of Elecya, which was beginning to come into view. It appeared majestic, beautiful, and slightly intimidating. Imagining what chaos would ensue if this giant tree were to fall.

However, that won't happen, considering Yggdrasil is essentially the Tree of Life that stretches from the human world to the realm of the gods. At least, that's according to Nordic legends. I don't know if this Yggdrasil is the same as the Yggdrasil in the legends or if it comes from a completely different world.

Most likely it is like that.

Can you imagine if there were Gods and Goddesses in this world?

A great chaos could occur, leading to a massive war where only one winner remains. Moreover, if there truly are Gods or Goddesses, then this world is destined to be destroyed from the beginning.

They wouldn't just remain silent, witnessing a situation where a small part of their world is suddenly moved here without permission. They would certainly rage.

But... On whom?

"Hey, may I ask you something?" I requested.

Both of them turned around, with Zhao Feng nodding in agreement and the black hair one, whose name I still didn't know, replied, "Of course, ask us anything. We will answer as long as it is within our knowledge."

"Alright, thank you," I replied, then continued, "What both of you think? Why is this world peaceful, while all of you, races originating from different worlds, were forcibly transported here?

I mean, no one knew this would happen, and there would surely be parties demanding explanations and causing trouble. However, for some reason, this world still feels safe to me. It's too peaceful for a world filled with different worlds and different understandings. Shouldn't there be divisions?"

They exchanged glances, turning back to look at me as Zhao Feng halted his steps. He turned completely and approached, observing my eyes as if they held a secret of the world. "What did you say just now?"

"Is there anything else that makes you involuntarily seek peace?" I asked, confused by their reaction as if they hadn't heard my previous words.

The black hair came closer, shaking his head. "It's pointless, we will never be able to know what you said. We only heard 'is there.' But afterward, we only heard a noisy sound that is difficult to explain.

What we can guess is that your question surely relates to this world. We also don't know the reason. However, every time we try to contemplate the world we currently live in, my thoughts suddenly become blurry, as if a thick fog obstructs them," they explained.

Zhao Feng nodded in agreement, let out another sigh, and turned back to face ahead, resuming our journey. "Whatever you want to know, forget it.

You don't want to draw attention to something you don't want, do you? It's better for you to focus on what will happen next. Because I assure you, something pretty big is going to happen soon."

Seeing the expression on the grey hair's face as they said that, it actually made me not want to focus on anything that would happen next. Hopefully, it's not another big battle. I really don't have the energy for it.

I know I've rested for over a week. However, I feel like I need more time...

"Just say you're lazy, Zent. There's no need to sugarcoat it like that," Z countered, sounding bored.

I'm not lazy. I'm genuinely exhausted.

I don't know why, but suddenly I feel tired and in need of uninterrupted rest. A time when I can sleep peacefully and wake up with disheveled hair.

It's a sign that someone has just had a comfortable sleep.

"But shouldn't it be uncomfortable? Most people would constantly change sleeping positions, leading to messy hair due to uncomfortable sleep."

You know, I'm special, right?

There's only one of me in the world, and you won't find it anywhere else. Truly a rare being that must be protected for a peaceful and safe life.

"Do you think you're a species that will go extinct? Oh no, there's no need to answer. You're indeed a strange creature that can't even be categorized into other races.

You're lucky to have a friend like me, who ironically is a part of yourself. So, basically, you have no friends," Z taunted with pride, unaware that he was insulting himself as well.

No friends? What about Princess Celine, Rio, and Rayven? Aren't they friends?

Oh, wait, don't answer. I forgot that you don't have a brain.

"Damn it."

Haha, got you.

"Zent, are you okay? Your face has been changing constantly since earlier," the black hair person asked, concerned.

In a hurry, I shook my head—or rather, nodded in agreement. "I'm fine, just talking to myself in my head. Hehe..."

"Well, that's great, Zent. Why don't you also mention that you have another figure inside your head?" Z complained, folding his arms.

But Zhao Feng nodded in understanding. "It's okay, I understand. Sometimes, I also talk to myself when I feel the need for a conversation partner.

But, know this, Zent, we are not only here as your guides but also as figures you can trust and rely on. So, it's fine if you want to discuss something," he explained, turning back to face the front with a smile adorning his face. "Welcome to Elecya."

As I focused on the scenery in front of me, my mouth hung wide open, unable to close due to the sight that had previously only been behind a screen but now unfolded before my eyes, causing the black hair to repeatedly cover my mouth to prevent insects from entering.
