The Big War (Part 3)

The Big War (Part 3)

They ran forward, showing no signs of fear with each step, only displaying unwavering conviction, carrying hope from a race that is now on the verge of becoming a memory. The Captain raised Glory high, slamming it forcefully into the ground, creating a massive wave just like mine before.

However, Zhao and Wei effortlessly pierced through the wave as if passing through a cotton wall. A heavy collision occurred, causing an explosion of energy, sending people around flying far backwards.

The Captain began to panic, afraid to witness two of the top ten strongest in the world now running towards him with clenched fists. He turned around, attempting to escape using the created water wave, taking him away.

A wide grin formed, providing a false hope that was unfortunately realized too late.

Those two individuals now appeared in front, their energy ready to be unleashed upon him. They pulled their arms back and thrust forward, delivering a blow to the Captain. Their clenched fists forcefully struck his chest, giving a sensation as if life had floated away and the God of Death awaited just ahead.

He was thrown downward, crashing forcefully into the ground, creating a crater.

However, that alone certainly couldn't stop him. He wouldn't call himself a Captain if he could be defeated this easily.

Hervar stood up, disregarding the gradually increasing pain. He gazed at the two individuals above him, his eyes sharpened by anger, accompanied by a furrowed brow. More energy was released, flowing swiftly into both his hands, giving him an additional strength.

He leaped, creating a strong gust of wind that forced us to shield our eyes with the back of our hand. A massive explosion of energy formed, sending those standing ten meters away flying far backward, giving them space to engage in a fierce battle, unleashing their full abilities.

The three-way fight could no longer be considered ordinary; it was a battle between life and death.

Remarkably, the Captain managed to hold his ground despite facing two opponents. I certainly didn't stay idle; I ran into the fight, gripping Glory in my hand to gain additional power.

Gravity pressure was created, forcing the Captain to kneel on the ground, giving the two of them an opportunity. Another enormous explosion occurred, destroying the area that had already turned into debris, turning it into an empty and vast plain with dust swirling in the air.

Zhao used his green-colored power to deliver a powerful explosive blow upon touching the Captain's body. Meanwhile, Wei utilized his dark power to blend with the shadows, swiftly moving in the form of a shadow and appearing behind.

He restrained the Captain's body, binding it with black shadows around his legs and arms. Hervar tried his best to break free, his eyes widening as he saw the man with gray hair right in front of him, delivering a strong blow to the center of the body.

Pain surged once again, engulfing his body with extraordinary agony, causing him to involuntarily fall forward while grimacing in pain.

Would it all end there?

Certainly not.

Glory began to shine once more, creating an explosion of light so bright that it hurt the eyes. Zhao and Wei took a few steps back, trying to maintain distance from the cunning figure, but they were too late to evade as several cannons were fired, creations of the Captain.

Those explosions meant nothing to Zhao and Wei, who had been playing around from the beginning. They hadn't been serious at all. That's why I didn't intervene more because as soon as they got even a little serious, the pirate figure in front of them would turn into a pile of dust.

I know it sounds exaggerated, but that's how strong they were. Just with the display of their energy alone, you could tell that they were not ordinary individuals.

The Captain fell silent, unsure of what to do against these two monsters. If only that mysterious man were still here, they would surely have been able to win the battle. Unfortunately, he disappeared the moment the kingdom of Elecya was taken over. It was as if he had no interest in all of this.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

But what could he do?

That man was even more terrifying than the two individuals in front. They meant nothing to him.

"Hey, Zhao, is it time for us to stop? I think we've taught him enough," Wei said, folding his arms while keeping his gaze fixed on the pirate Captain.

Zhao paused for a moment, looking around, then let out a long sigh. Realizing that they had gone too far, he said, "If you want to finish him off, go ahead and do it. I don't want to dirty my hands with the blood of someone like him."

He turned around, about to continue walking, but suddenly stopped in place, looking at something right behind me. His eyes widened with anger, while the Captain's eyes widened with a sense of victory.

The mysterious man walked casually with his hands in the pockets of his black jacket. The sound of his black boots created a hypnotic rhythm with each step. That repetitive rhythm, for some reason, rendered our bodies unable to move, only able to stand still in place.

Our bodies started trembling, whether from fear or due to the immense energy unleashed with each step. Our hearts began to race, drowning out the sound, making it difficult to hear what he was saying.

The same smile appeared on his face, accompanied by a pair of eyes as sharp as daggers in a bright purple color, to the point where it becomes a question.

Could it be possible that his eyes were now glowing?

However, the most surprising thing was the presence of three small elves behind him. They walked along with him, fear evident on each of their faces, to the point where the twins began shedding tears. The eldest elf, Elfi, tried to calm them down, but he himself trembled while observing the surroundings.

"Well, well, it's quite an interesting show. So interesting that I have to personally intervene to save these three young elves from the hands of a traitor," he remarked, acting as if he were a show host.

He turned around and pointed at the figure of the Prince, who now stood silent. Panic was clearly visible on his face.

"How could the Prince of the elf race, your leader, be the betrayer of the kingdom? Fascinating, isn't it? Does anyone want to answer?" He looked around, trying to find anyone who intended to play along with his game, but found no one. "Hey, come on, don't bore me. You know what happens when I get bored, don't you? You surely don't want to become dust along with the kingdom, so you better answer my question before I change my mind."

"What do you think you're doing, huh!! Bringing three young children into the battlefield!" Zhao retorted, unable to contain his anger that had reached its peak. Both of his hands clenched tightly, green energy starting to seep out from them.

The mysterious man noticed it, smiled, and replied, "Don't you understand? I said to answer, not ask questions. No wonder you didn't realize it.

You're too busy playing the hero, just like Zent over there who didn't immediately return to Alfcity to check on his beloved and the little princess. What if that adorable little princess of yours dies? Are you ready to bear the regret?"

"Say what you want," Wei urged, no longer appearing friendly, and for the first time, I saw him angry. He was truly terrifying when he wasn't smiling.

"Sigh... I've already told you. Just answer my question, and then I'll leave you. I even wasted my time saving them from the death zone, and this is how you repay me? Well, in that case, I'll just let them become 'Purify' materials."

He pretended as if he had just revealed a big secret, which made the Prince's face appear as if it were sinking downward. "Oh, sorry. I accidentally revealed the answer."

Captain Varren stepped forward, facing the Prince who now stood silently with his head bowed. "What does 'Purify' mean, Your Highness? Why was the Ancient level magic mentioned by him? Wait, is it because the three of them are descendants of dark elves?

Are you intending to use them as materials to neutralize the dark mana in the death zone? Is that why you asked for them to be saved first? HEY, ANSWER ME, PRINCE OF ALCYA!!" He shouted, pushing the Prince's shoulders, causing him to step back.

The Prince lifted his head, returning the Captain's gaze with a wide grin. A grin that felt so empty, devoid of the warmth that he usually displayed. It was a stark contrast to the Prince that I had encountered.

It was a side that Captain Varren had never seen before, despite having spent a long time as his right-hand man.

"Varren, you must understand. I'm doing all of this for us, for Elecya.

We need an escape route, and the only way out is through the northern gate, where the death zone is located. What else can I do but sacrifice three young elves who are descendants of dark elves?

They are dark elves, dark elves! A race that has been our enemy for years! Yes, they may no longer exist because our world was transported here, but does that erase the hatred and wounds?

No, it doesn't.

As payment for their race's actions, these three young elves can serve as materials for the Purify magic, which not only requires pure mana but also dark mana. It just so happens that they embody both. Why not? They should be grateful, shouldn't they?"

Upon hearing this, Captain Varren stepped closer, his hand clenched tightly, and a strike landed right on the Prince's nose. He was thrown backward, falling to the ground with blood now flowing from his nose.

Prince Alcya wiped the red fluid using the back of his hand, glaring sharply at the figure in front of him, who seemed ready to take his life.
