Hwa Young strode to the center of the room, capturing the attention of everyone present. "Thank you all for promptly joining the meeting today. We've got three important items on our agenda. First and foremost, let's address the matter of our group name. We've had a plethora of suggestions, and I appreciate the creativity. However, choices must be made, so if your suggestion isn't selected, please don't be disheartened.
After careful consideration, the name that resonated with me the most is 'Dunamis,' which translates to 'power' in Greek. There's a certain strength and resonance to it that aligns well with our goals. Let's embrace this powerful identity as we move forward together."
The students displayed evident satisfaction with the chosen name.
"The second thing on our agenda is the medical test you all had taken before the academy. Those test results will be given to you in the dorms by the end of the day," Hwa Young announced.
Seong, upon hearing this, wasn't particularly concerned about the results. He had a general idea of his medical condition and felt relatively at ease regarding the upcoming disclosure.
Hwa Young proceeded, emphasizing the significance of the next agenda. "Now, onto our third point, a matter of great importance, so I urge everyone to pay close attention to my words. There's a shift in the curriculum for this year. In addition to your regular classes, each of you will be assigned a monthly task called assignments. Here's the exciting part - your collective challenge is to outperform Mr. Williams' group. If successful, not only will the group earn a point, but individual rewards will follow.
However, this endeavour comes with a condition. You must surrender your phones or communication devices and adopt a Westfield Academy-issued device. Communication with anyone outside the academy will be restricted until the end of the term. I understand this may be a sacrifice, but the potential rewards are worth it. Anyone uncomfortable with these rules has the option to leave, though it's important to note that departure mid-year won't be permissible."
The room buzzed with murmurs as students exchanged uncertain glances, grappling with the decision before them. Seong, however, remained unaffected by the collective contemplation. With no ties binding him and no one to concern himself with, he found solace in the simplicity of his situation.
Eun-Jeoung, visibly distressed, turned to Seong for guidance. "What are you going to do?" she inquired, a trace of anxiety in her voice.
Seong, with an air of calm resolve, responded, "I'll stay. I don't have anyone back at home, so it's fine."
Understanding his perspective, Eun-Jeoung offered her condolences, her tone laden with sympathy. "Sorry for your loss."
In a swift and uplifting manner, Seong reassured her, "It's not your fault. There's no point in being sad about it. Besides, how could you know about my situation? You should worry about your situation before others."
Eun-Jeoung, taking a moment to reflect, made her decision. "I'm going to stay. I don't have anything to do back at home, so I'm going to see this academy through."
While most students opted to stay, a few chose to depart, a development that was anticipated. Seong, however, had expected even more departures, considering the loss of having no connection to the outside world. To him, the benefits outweighed any loss of communication, making the decision to stay at the academy a worthwhile endeavor.
After the departure of those who chose to leave, Hwa Young resumed speaking. "To all the students who have chosen to stay, I want to express my sincere appreciation for your commitment to this academy. Now, let me provide you with details about this month's assignments. The examination will be held in the Botanical Garden near the academy, and you will be transported there by bus from 8 am to 12 pm. If you are concerned about missing your regular classes or assignments during this time, rest assured that we have adjusted the schedule to accommodate the assignments. Your classes will proceed as usual, and any assignments will be appropriately rescheduled, ensuring that you won't miss any crucial academic activities."

A boy with brown hair and a robust physique raised his hand and inquired, "Miss Hwa Young, could you please elaborate on how our performance will be graded, particularly in the context of a group project?"
Hwa Young responded, "During the assignment, a dedicated team will be observing and assessing your individual performances. Each student will be given a grade based on their contribution, determining the overall success of the group. That concludes our discussion on assignments for today. Tomorrow, you will receive detailed instructions on the specific task. For the remainder of the day, attend your regular classes. You may stay back if you have any other questions; if not, you are dismissed."
Everyone started to exit the lecture hall but Seong and Eun-Jeoung stayed behind to talk to Hwa Young
Eun-Jeoung approached Hwa Young and said, "Hey, Miss Hwa Young, we've got a question."
Hwa Young responded, "Yes go ahead".
Eun-Jeoung continued, "Seong and I are roommates, and we were curious if the academy allows pairs up a girl and a boy as roommates."
Hwa Young's expression shifted to one of surprise, and she responded, "Oh, there must have been a mistake. I apologize for that. I'll make sure to rectify the error."
Unexpectedly, Eun-Jeoung reassured Hwa Young, saying, "Miss Hwa Young, you don't have to worry about changing roommates. I'm perfectly fine being Seong-min's roommate if he's okay with it." Seong, surprised by the turn of events, looked at Eun Jeoung with a mix of confusion and gratitude.
Seong said, "I am also fine with it".
Hwa Young let out a sigh of relief and gratitude. "Thank you for saving me from a lot of work, but just so we're clear, if I find even a hint of anything inappropriate happening in that room, I will ensure that both of you have the worst roommates," she warned with a hint of sternness, making her expectations clear.
Seong reassured Hwa Young, saying, "You don't have to worry about that happening.
Seong, Eun-Jeoung, and Hwa Young concluded their conversation and headed to their respective classes. Seong-min's first class happened to be his least favorite – a challenging math class. He never quite grasped the necessity of intricate calculations and complex formulas, leading to a lack of enthusiasm for the subject.
Entering the lecture theatre 20 minutes ahead of time, Seong found the room relatively empty. Only a handful of students were scattered across the seats, and the lecture theatre, though similar to others, was a bit smaller, accommodating around 50 people, unlike the larger ones he was used to. The anticipation for the challenging class hung in the air as Seong-min prepared himself for the upcoming lesson.
As Seong gazed out the window, the rhythmic echo of footsteps drew his attention. Turning, he spotted a boy with striking crimson hair and a handsome face approaching. The thought crossed his mind, 'This boy is a stud; if only I had those features.'
"Hello, I'm Alejandro," the boy introduced himself. "Could I sit next to you?"
Seong, looking up, responded casually, "I'm Seong-Min, and sure, feel free to take a seat. It's not like I own this place."
Alejandro settled into the seat next to Seong, after he extracted his notebooks from his bag. As the class commenced, a man with black hair and a grumpy face in his fifties entered. "Hello everybody, I am your math lecturer for this year. My name is Ryunosuke; you can call me Mr. Ryunosuke or Mr. R," he announced.
The lesson kicked off with algebra, and Seong appeared somewhat perplexed throughout, struggling to grasp the concepts. In contrast, Alejandro seemed to effortlessly navigate the material, making the class appear like a breeze. Observing Alejandro, Seong couldn't help but think, 'Not only good-looking but also smart. I'll never beat a guy like him.'
At that moment, Ryunosuke posed a question to the class, "Answer the question." A brief silence followed, with no one offering a response. Ryunosuke, adopting a no-nonsense approach, declared, "If no one answers, I will have to pick one."
With continued silence prevailing, Ryunosuke singled out a student, indicating, "Blue shirt near the window, answer this." The attention of the class shifted, awaiting the response from the selected student, adding an element of tension to the atmosphere.
Seoung glanced down to find himself wearing a blue shirt and sitting near the window. The realization dawned on him that he was the one being called upon to answer the question. Panic briefly flickered in his eyes as he frantically tried to recall the content of the lesson, but unfortunately, he had no idea how to respond to the question.
