Seong headed to his dorm to find Eun-Jeoung already there, cooking.
Upon entering, Seong asked, "What are you cooking?"
"Kimchi," Eun-Jeoung replied.
Seong commented, "It's been quite a while since I ate kimchi; it better be good."
"Let's hope so, since it's also been a long time since I've made kimchi," Eun-Jeoung replied. After 10 minutes, the kimchi was ready.
Eun-Jeoung plated it on two dishes, handed one to Seong, and they both began to eat.
After Seong took his first bite, Eun-Jeoung asked, "How is it?"
"It's good, but I would like it a bit spicier, and the meat should be less cooked. Other than that, it is good," said Seong
Eun-Jeoung responded, "Yeah, I overcooked the meat a bit, but I like the spice at this level. If you want, you can add some chili powder on top of it."
"It's fine," Seong said and then added, "What happened group's research?"
"It was as you said, the exterior symptoms are missing. So now, we are searching for the second location," Eun-Jeoung explained.
Seong said, "That's good."
"What about you?" asked Eun-Jeoung.
Seong just gave a brief description of his day but left out the part where he was about to get into a fight.
"So, you just did a bunch of nothing," Eun-Jeoung remarked.
Seong replied, "Of course, we did nothing. What else are we supposed to do but look?"
"That is true," said Eun-Jeoung.
At that moment, Seong checked his phone and saw that it was 6:53. He said, "I've got to get to my tutoring session. Bye and thank you for the food."
"Bye," Eun-Jeoung said.
Seong headed to Alejandro's dorm with his books. After reaching the dorm, he knocked on Alejandro's door and said, "It's Seong."
Alejandro opened the door and said, "Welcome." Seong entered the dorm, sat on the chair next to Alejandro's study desk, which was piled with a ton of books that weren't there last time, and said, "Shall we start?"
"Before that, I have to thank you," Alejandro said.
Seong was surprised because he had done nothing. "Why?"
"Because of your advice to pay attention to the surroundings, our group was able to find a tombstone that had all the external symptoms on it, and now we are searching for the last tombstone," said Alejandro.
Seong said, "You figured it out too. It seems like we are going to win this assignment if we all find our second location."
"Wait, you knew about the location? Since when?" asked Alejandro.
Seong replied with a cheeky smile on his face, "Since the day I told you."
"You're far ahead of everyone else," said Alejandro.
Seong responded, "Not really, in terms of information, no, but in odds, yes."
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Alejandro.
Seong answered, "We have tried more cures that are closer to the real cure than the other section, so we are ahead of them by odds."
"I hope we win with this advantage you've given us," Alejandro remarked.
Seong retorted, "I didn't give us anything. It was pure luck that my group found it so quickly. It could have been any one group in section 3."
"Ok, that's enough about the assignment. Let's try to finish this homework by the end of this session," Alejandro said.
Both of them studied until they finished their math homework, which took about 2 hours. Then, Seong decided to head back to his dorm. But before leaving, Seong asked, "Don't you have a roommate?"
"I did, but he didn't want to be here for the new curriculum, so he left. I don't have one now," said Alejandro.
Seong said, "Okay, I am going to head out now."
"Bye, I'll message you when I am free next time," Alejandro said.
When Seong exited Alejandro's dorm, he felt like two people were stalking him. However, when he turned around, he couldn't see anyone, so Seong thought, 'I'm losing my mind at this point' and headed to his dorm, where he went to sleep.
The next day, the morning routine repeated as usual. Seong got ready first, then Eun-Jeong got ready, and both of them headed to the bus stop, making their way to the botanical garden and then heading to their separate sections.
After he arrived, Ara was already there. Seong approached Ara and said, "Hi Ara, you're earlier than usual."
Seong suggested, "We have social studies at 2; do you want to go together?"
"Sure, but before that I have to visit a place" Ara replied.
Seong said "that's fine I will wait for you"
Then, Amelie popped up and said, "We didn't get the cure, sadly."
"What percentage did you get?" asked Seong.
Amelie answered, "Fifty percent."
"What disease was it?" asked Seong.
Amelie replied, "I don't know; one of my group mates suggested it, so we did. Wait here; I shall bring him here."
She brought over a handsome boy with brown hair, and he explained the disease and the internal problems it causes. Seong crossed off all the ones that cause the same internal problems. Amelie observed him and questioned, "What are you crossing off?"
Amelie questioned what he was doing on the notebook and asked, "What are you crossing off?"
"It's a secret," Seong said on purpose, recalling the incident from the previous day.
Amelie started to nag him, saying, "Come on, you wouldn't have got this information without me; you have to tell me."
"This notebook has a list of possible diseases, and I am crossing off the ones that it can't be," Seong explained.
Amelie asked, "Wouldn't it be easier for you to make the cures? That would make it easier for you to get the answer, wouldn't it?"
"It would, but I don't want to think other people would agree with my thesis if they want a high grade," said Seong.
Amelie said, "I can convince them, but can make the correct cure and how many days would it take?"
"I can do it in 4 days if I can get all the materials I need every single day," said Seong.
Amelie said, "I will trust you on this, but if you don't get it in four days, you will have to work for me."
"Work under you, huh? So a slave this was your goal the entire time, but sure, because I know I won't fail if I get what I need," said Seong.
Ara, concerned, said, "Are you sure? Maybe you should think it over a bit; it's not like the assignment is ending in a few days."
"Trust me, I know I will solve it. But what do I get if I do?" asked Seong.
Amelie asked, "What do you want?"
"I'll decide after I win," Seong said.
Amelie replied, "Okay, if you win."
After the conversation between Amelie and Seong ended, she called everyone and told them the plan. Needing 4 days to do it, no one opposed Amelie, so the plan was accepted. Then Amelie said, "What do you need?"
"Two Epiphytes, one passionflower, and three Amazon water lilies," Seong answered.
Do-Yun, who had come right before the meeting, said, "I got one Epiphyte, so we only need one more."
Amelie asked, "So we need one Epiphyte, one passionfruit, and three Amazon water lilies."
"Yep," Seong answered.
So, the search for the plants began in pairs, a suggestion made by Dae.
Ara asked, "Seong wants to be paired."
"Sorry, but Seong and I have some business that we have to take care of, so we'll be a pair," Amelie asserted.
Seong retorted, "I don't remember having any business with you."
"If you won't be paired with me, I'll say your plan has been canceled," Amelie threatened him.
Seong sighed, "Sorry, Ara. I can't do much when this girl is making threats."
"Don't worry; I'll work with someone else," Ara said.
Then Ara realized she didn't know anyone else in this section, aside from her group, who were already paired up.
Seong asked, "How about we form a trio?"
"Sure," Ara agreed.
Amelie asked, "Aren't you not going to ask for my opinion?" in an angered tone.
"Nope, I agreed to be a pair with you, so now you agree with me," Seong said.
Amelie begrudgingly said, "Fine."
Then everyone ventured into the forest to search for plants, while one boy was left alone and said, "Wasn't there 30 people in the section? Why am I alone?"
