Chapter 76 - Chance of Fate: Tiger Mountain

Chapter 76 - Chance of Fate: Tiger Mountain

Feng Qu’s head lolled forward, saliva dripping out of his half open mouth, eyes soulless and all trace of cultivation vanished. Long Quan and the elders all stared at the young man with a trace of fear.

“Hooo, that was refreshing.” Han Ling had a smile on his face, the power of a Immortal Supreme flowing through his body. “Heh, moving up to Immortal Supreme is a great gift. I feel much lighter than before.”

He turned to Bai Long Quan, bowing deeply, “I shall take my leave.”

“Wait! Weren’t you going to take our talisman?” Long Quan felt it strange that Han Ling didn’t want it anymore.

“Hmm? I don’t need it anymore, and I realized I would be too weak to be able to hold the talisman.”

Long Quan’s mouth twitched, the young man is a Immortal Supreme at such a young age, as strong as himself, yet he called himself weak?

“What do you plan on doing now?” Han Ling pondered for a while, “Do you have any information on any Chances of Fate?”

Long Quan widened his eyes slightly, “Of course, the Bai Clan handles all the information the White Tiger Sect collects.”

“Then I would ask for information.” Han Ling cupped his hands together.

Not long after, Han Ling held a scroll in his hand, a map of the Guan An City and the land around on it.

“Hmm, there’s said to be a Chance of Fate in the Blooming Plains, another at the Sharp Peaks, and one in the Cave of Tears.” Han Ling pondered slowly, then snapping his finger as he decided. “The Blooming Plains first.”

With that he leapt into the air in a gust of wind, zooming in that direction.

Han Ling soared over the plains, quietly scanning the competition that had been waiting for the same Chance of Fate.

Sure enough, there were some interesting competitions.

Many groups of people crowded the plains, many of different robes and markings on their robes. Han Ling raised an eyebrow when he noticed the flag of a White Tiger above a group of white robed people.

He recognized Bai Ye Qing at the front, beside him was a white robed young woman and a tall, hulking man. Han Ling didn’t really sense much from the pair so he didn’t bother using his All-seeing Void.

But someone behind him did intrigue him.

Name: Bai Qing Tian

Physique: Clear Sky Rays (Top 100)

Cultivation level: 8th Step Immortal Spirit

Techniques: Clear Sky Beam. Sky Walker.

“He must be the man Ye Qing brought to help me…”

He wanted to thank the man for saving him, even though the man arrived late, he still cared Han Ling enough to wake up safely.

Then he realized Ye Qing saw him in the sky, waving with a beaming smile. Han Ling sighed before realizing Ye Qing must be confused how a lightning cultivator was capable of flight and swapped back to his lightning element, zooming to the ground in a bolt of lightning.

Han Ling landed with a loud crash, creating a crater around him. Inwardly he was laughing at how he landed, thinking back to all the superman landings in movies.

“Brother Han Ling! You’re ok!” Ye Qing ran up to Han Ling, a beaming smile on his face.

“Yes, I managed to recuperate.” Han Ling then glanced at the guy and girl staring at him beside Ye Qing. “Ah! This is Rong Yi, and he’s Gang Tie, they’re disciples from the White Tiger Sect.”

“Oh I see, greetings.”

“Greeting’s brother.” They both cupped their fist together, bowing slightly to the young man.

Then Bai Qing Tian walked up to Han Ling and Ye Qing, smiling warmly. “Brother Han Ling, I assume you’re here for the Chance of Fate as well?”

“Well, since Ye Qing is here, I might as well enter.”

“Um… but aren’t you a little too strong for this?”

Han Ling then remembered…

There are certain rules that appear before a chance of fate.

To ensure certain fairness, Chances of Fates will normally have restrictions to either a range of ages or a range of cultivation.

Han Ling completely forgot about that…

Before he could even speak a gentle hum sounded and Han Ling immediately realized that the rules have arrived.

Golden streams of qi formed into words in the air. Han Ling nervously read the rules.

[Chance of Fate: The Tiger Mountain]

* Maximum Age: 20

* Minimum cultivation: Spirit Novice

Han Ling nearly whooped out loud.

“Yes!” Han Ling felt happiness bloom inside him, “Alright calm down, first objective is to get techniques… the Tiger Mountain sounds like a dangerous place but with my Immortal Supreme strength, it’ll be a breeze.”

Han Ling salivated at the thought of the treasures he could get from the Chance of Fate.

Bai Ye Qing gave a nervous chuckle, “Brother Han Ling, wouldn’t you be too strong for this?”

Han Ling snickered, “Don’t worry, I’ll be giving anything I don’t need to you, to repay you for helping me.”

Ye Qing’s face beamed, “Really? Thank you Brother!” Rong Yi and Gang Tie were slightly confused as to why Young Master Ye Qing treated this man as such but decided to quietly watch.

Han Ling glanced at the other groups of people, weaker sects in Guan An city, but there were three or four powerful sects from different cities. Well, powerful only to Spirit Novices, but to an Immortal Supreme like Han Ling? Child’s play.

Soon enough, he entered through the glowing blue gate, similar to the ones from the beginning of Sovereign’s Battleground.

“Hehe, a chance of fate… wonder what techniques I can get.”

And he entered the gate.

Han Ling opened his eyes to see a field of trees and towering above the trees was a gigantic peak.

“That must be the Tiger Mountain.” Han Ling activated All-Seeing Void, leaping into the air before scanning the forest. “It doesn’t seem Bai Ye Qing is near me, nor any other cultivators…”

Han Ling grinned, “A good time to hunt then.”

With that he burst into the sky, wind currents writhing round his legs, boosting him easily through the air. Through the air, Han Ling slashed his sword, purple sword rays easily slicing the beasts in half.

“Hmm, they don’t give points…”

Han Ling muttered, slightly annoyed.

SCREEEE!!!

Han Ling looked up, seeing a giant eagle coming straight towards him. “Hmm? What did I do?”

The Eagle screeched, its maw opening wide, blue lightning exploding towards Han Ling.

“Attacking without any warning? Shameless!”

[Elemental Zenith – Absorb]

Han Ling’s palm soaked in the bolts of lightning, wincing slightly at such a large amount.

“What in the world? What cultivation rank does this eagle have to be to be able to give me this much mastery of lightning?”

[Elemental Zenith: Lightning – 29%...30%...33%...35%]

[Elemental Zenith: Lightning has reached 30%, unlocking Dual Element.]

“Oh? Dual elements? Its kinda useless since I already use void and blood…”

But then Han Ling realized something. He was floating with the wind under him, with lightning writhing throughout his upper body. “Oh! I can control two elements now!”

Han Ling raised his other hand, a gust of wind slamming into the eagle, causing it to screech in annoyance as it staggered.

Using that momentum, Han Ling threw a punch, a purple lightning bolt slamming into the eagle’s hide. However, the eagle took the hit full on, brushing it off like it was a speck of dust.

“Lightning is useless huh…”

Han Ling raised both hands, controlling the qi in his hands, forming a blade of wind. He launched it, watching the wind blade snap at the collision of the feathers.

“Even wind is useless?” Han Ling scowled, drawing True Blood Sword, 15 sabres forming around him. He launched them at the Eagle, only for it to bounce off the hard feathers of the eagle.

The eagle screeched, as if taunting Han Ling.

“This bastard…” Han Ling felt a little annoyed, but could do nothing as he watched the eagle with careful eyes. “I can’t break through its feathers with just qi.”

As he spoke, he pulled out an eerie black sword, purple flames coating the blade like a living sheath. “What about this?” Han Ling slashed, a flaming purple sword ray slamming into the body of the eagle.

SCREEEEEE!!!

“Oh, it definitely works.” Han Ling pulled the sword over his head, “Lets have some fun!”

Thunder rumbled and Lightning struck.
