It didn’t take long for Han Ling to find a dungeon entrance, there are too many around, nearly one for every street. With that many streets in Tokyo its difficult to shut all the dungeon’s down. Plus only players are capable of defeating a dungeon, even then not many would survive if the dungeon was somehow in a dessert or in winter wasteland.
But does issues were nothing to Han Ling who got his mana body very early. He creeped by platoons of soldiers, sneaking a glance at their fights to check the monsters. To his surprise, he found a group of players battling the same wolfmen he fought before. He grinned Ohoho Time to snatch some prey…
A large bulky man with red hair punched a wolfman, causing the number -43 to appear above the beast. “HAHAHA DIE! DIE! DIE!” The man threw his first forward like a machine gun, each punch creating cracking bones and spraying blood.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The wolfman got his skull crushed, flying into a wall, crashing through it and never getting up again. The man’s laugh boomed in the air, throwing his head back to let out an extremely hearty laugh.
A skinny man with sharp features raised a wooden staff, a blue energy ball flew out of the tip, blasting a wolfman’s head to pieces. The female archer, had silky black hair tied into a ponytail. She fired an arrow at a wolfman, embedding the projectile in between his eye, turning to another wolfman without even checking to see if he’s dead. The last member was a cute, petite healer, standing behind her teammates with her staff ready.
Wow… Not bad… this is a pretty solid team.
WONG!
A trio of wolfmen stepped out of the portal wearing leather armour, snarling at the humans. At the same time, all three of them unsheathe their swords, readying their blades.
Wolf Soldiers! This is a Grade E dungeon! Perfect!
Han Ling pulled up the interface, going to the shop and purchasing two Apprentice’s Swords.
Apprentice’s Sword (Brown-Bronze)
Attack Damage: +15
Durability: 80/80
Remarks: A slightly trash sword.
Damn now I only have a little money. Haish…these damn wolves better be worth it!
The party gulped at the sight of the wolf soldiers, even the brawler hesitated in rushing forward. Wolf Soldiers were all LVL 5 wolf-type beasts, and they were slightly intelligent, capable of using swords to a certain extent.
The archer fired an arrow, aiming for the middle wolf soldier. The wolf growled before easily catching the arrow, snapping it in half. The archer gulped, paling as the beasts rushed forward. The mage frantically summoned another blue energy ball, sending it to the group. But the ball was sliced in half… just like their hopes.
As the wolfmen were nearing, Han Ling rushed forward, cracking the cement on the ground with his speed. Han Ling faced the middle wolf soldier, dashing straight at it faster than a bullet. The wolf soldier brought his sword down on the teen, sword inches from the teen’s face.
SYING!
The wolf soldier’s sword was deflected up, eyes widening as he was overpowered by a mere human. As shock filled his mind, he never realized the sword thrusting into his chest.
[LVL 2 Thrust]
-139 [FATAL HIT]
The wolf soldier howled, feeling the cold metal buried deep in his chest. His two companions turned away from the party, snarling as they slashed on the human. Han Ling calmly raised both swords, slashing upwards. Sparks flew as swords collided, but the wolf soldier’s staggered, feeling their sword hands go numb. Both wolves widened their eyes, a thought clearly written all over their faces. This human is dangerous!
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
But before they could even regain their balance, two white lines flashed across their chests.
[LVL 2 Slash (Dual-Wield)]
-49 -51
Han Ling was a LVL 6 swordsman, his attack speed is 22, much faster than the two wolf soldiers. He could slash them once freely before they could even react. Both Wolf Soldiers howled as they frantically slashed at the swordsman. There was a blur of swords as spark and blood sprayed, damages appeared above both wolf soldiers, but the swordsman only took miniscule amounts. He was vastly superior in speed and strength, those soldiers had no chance since the beginning…
[You have killed LVL 5 Wolf Soldier.]
[You have killed LVL 5 Wolf Soldier.]
He looked at the first wolf soldier writhing on the ground, staring at the human with eyes filled with rage. He convulsed… twitched… till he lay still…
[You have killed LVL 5 Wolf Soldier]
Han Ling’s experience soared, hitting the end of the bar. The word LVL 7 appeared on top of Han Ling, the golden glow even more intense than before.
Silence fell on the street, all four party members were sweating, feeling a chill running down their spine. A lone swordsman killed off 3 LVL 5 beasts in less than a minute. And he’s Level 7! He’s a Solo professional!
The healer was the first to move, cautiously coming up to the swordsman, she held her staff with both hands, and calmly raised it. A green glow covered Han Ling and he widened his eyes in surprise. A Holy Druid? I thought she was just a normal healer…Interesting. Han Ling smiled at the healer, his good looks causing the healer to redden slightly. “I appreciate the heal.” Han Ling bowed to the healer before turning to the rest of the party. “I’ll be entering this dungeon; I will not stop you if you would follow… However, if you intend to enter as well, we must work together. You guys must listen to my commands. Those are my conditions if you wish to enter.”
Without saying anything more he turned to the gate, entering without even turning back. Seeing the swordsman enter, the brawler spoke, “Anyone wants to enter?” All four of them glanced at one another, none of them answering.
The brawler snorted, “Cowards! Aren’t you interested in seeing a pro in action? I’ll go on my own then!” the big burly man stomped into the portal. Seeing this the healer sighed, “Alright… I’ll go as well…” The other two glanced at one another, sighing before entering along with the healer.
As the archer entered, she opened her eyes to find herself in a dense forest, with great trees dozens of meters tall.
PHEW PHEW PHEW
Arrows suddenly rained down on the trio, hungry for human blood. The trio panicked, frozen on the spot as the arrows rained. A blur flew in front of them, and flurry of white lines traced the air, slashing every single arrow to the ground. The swordsman disappeared in a blur, zooming straight into the trees. The sounds of rustling branches and terrified yelps erupting from the treetops.
Soon, three wolf corpses crashed to the ground, bloody and broken. The trio gaped at the sight; eyes unable to follow the immense speed of the swordsman. Even the archer was unable to see anything on the treetops.
Then a black hooded man dropped from the branches, landing lightly without a sound. He glanced at the trio, “Since you’re here, introduce yourselves and explain your skills.”
The archer looked around, “Where’s Atsushi-san?” “The brawler? He’s behind that rock…”
As Han Ling pointed at a boulder nearby, the brawler peeked through the top of the rock, realising the coast was safe, he trotted over to the group, sighing in relieve, he bowed in front of the swordsman, “Thank You for saving my life sir.” Han Ling nodded slightly before the brawler continued. “My name is Teruya Atsushi, Level 3 Brawler, I can use Punch, Kick, and Toss.”
The Archer spoke next, her voice silky smooth and sweet. “I’m Takagi Karin, level 3 Archer, I can use Shoot, Leap, and Hawkeyes.” The healer was next, “Koyama Kinuko, level 2 Holy Druid, skills are Heal, Cleanse, Beacon and Rejuvenate.” Han Ling raised his eyebrows slightly, the Koyama Kinuko? The Divine Druid? Didn’t expect to meet a future bigshot.
The mage was a level 2 summoner named Koyama Shiki, the brother of the healer, skills are summoning, energy ball, mana pulse. A very solid team. Han Ling asked the mage, “What can you summon?” The mage scratched his head, “Only a spirit sparrow…” Han Ling nodded before giving the party instructions.
“When we battle, I’ll take most of the aggro, Atsushi-san and Karin-san will take care of any wolfmen that I don’t aggro. Shiki-san and Kinuko-san will be support, Kinuko-san will heal three of us when in dire situations and Shiki-san will use his spirit sparrow to keep an eye on the battlefield. Clear?”
The party glanced at one another before nodding. As Han Ling was turning to get ready, the healer shyly coughed, gaining the attention of the swordsman, “Uhm…Can I know the name of this swordsman?” Han Ling smiled, “I’m Han Ling, level 7 swordsman.” The healer nodded, a little dazed at the smile.
AWOOO
Han Ling frowned, turning to the forest, both Apprentice’s swords appearing in his palms. 7 Wolf soldiers stepped into the light, all snarling and growling. Han Ling cracked his neck, loosening his muscles, “Follow the instructions. Don’t die.” “Yes!”
The swordsman breathed out, before a blue glow covered his body, and his swords glowed a bright blue.
[LVL 1 Mana Body]
[LVL 1 Sword Aura]
The soldiers snapped their jaws at the swordsman, feeling the mana permeating the air. An immense killing intent burst forth, freezing the wolfman for a second. But that was all it took for Han Ling to come face to face with them.
Cold, hard eyes gleamed in the light.
