Well everything is dark. Does that mean i’m in hell? Honestly i wouldn't be surprised if whatever higher being made those choices sent me there, not with my track record anyway. All around me there's nothing but a darkness stretching as far as i can see, the ground is a weird greenish-white marble looking floor like something you would find in a ballroom. I look around trying to find any sign of Devils or maybe a the Flames of hell or whatever is supposed to come next when i realize that i’m not wearing anything.
“…”
I tried to cry out but not only had they taken my clothes they had also taken my voice it seems.
'Whoever designed death was a pervert'
“Well that's quite rude” said a feminine voice
Suddenly a striking woman in a red sheath dress appeared. She was maybe 5’9 with breasts nonexistent, Flaming red hair and deep blue eyes that seem to captivate the soul of anyone who looked into them. She was lying down sideways on a gigantic four post bed with shimmering pink curtains, dark stained wooden columns and a big head board with a carving of what looked like a Demon with a pitch fork on it. She was eating what looked like a package of barbecue potato chips from a family sized bag while looking at me. She waved her hand and was unsilenced.
"Gimme back my clothes!" i said impatiently glaring at her.
"Oh and what if i don't?"
This bitch reminds me of a particularly cruel girl i met when i was a freshmen in high school. She was a senior with dark brown hair and brown eyes and came from a wealthy family in town. She pretended to be interested in me all for the sake of trying to get me to ask her out and when i did she apparently had had a bet that she could take a naive freshmen and easily manipulated him into liking her as part of a senior prank. That was the last time i went to school there.
"Then you won't get what you want from me."
"Awww and what makes you think that i need something from you and even if i do how do you know i won't just take it from you?"

"Lady i’m dead so i doubt there's anything you could take from me and the fact that i’m here and not burning in hell somewhere or basking in the sun in heaven means that there's something you're looking for from me."
"Well someone's impatient, and the name is Kyanu goddess of Death, Jailer of the gods, Ruler of the dead and you have been chosen--"she paused while trying her best to look regal and awe inspiring even though it's hard to look awe inspiring and regal while lying on your side with potato chip crumbs on the sides of your mouth.
She waved her hands and i was suddenly dressed in a loose fitting white robe, like something a hospital patient would wear.
“Skip the theatrics and get to the point.” i said interrupting her.
“Tsk, puny mortal you should be on your knees thanking me for this amazing chance to meet me.”
“Well i’m not going to thank the goddess of death for interrupting me while i was in the process of dying.”
“Surprising, most people who come here and realize they are dead say there must be a mistake or something.”
“yeah well most people don’t have my life. I have never had a single shred of luck. If gods existed where were you when i never had and luck in life, isn't that what gods are suppose to do!”
“You had a loving sister who took care of you and stayed by your side.”
“Can you honestly take credit for that?”
She shrugged her shoulders.
"Fair enough that would be Ivona, Goddess of the family and childbearing responsibility, but never the less you are here now."
'No shit Sherlock'.
Thinking back to the last conversation i had with my sister before i died. I had not wanted to go to the Gala because it was clear from Rene’s many associates that i was not wanted and shunned out of the picture so going to the gala would just be pointless. Even then Rene just smiled and told me to stick with her throughout the party, and if anyone were to try to get rid of me she would tell them off and force them away.
Kyanu, who was now standing right next to me with the bed nowhere to be seen said, “You know, she gave up a lot more than you think for you. She was offered a job at ATI and would have been on the lead design team making technology to change the world. It would have meant leaving you with a relative which we both know never would have happened and so did she, so she declined and settled for a Government job that payed nearly a quarter of what ATI would have payed. She was offered by more than one company actually. Naturally everyone wants a piece of a genius and make no mistake she was a pure genius. Multiple billion dollar companies had scouted her and wanted her on their projects, making breakthroughs. She would have designed the future of mankind.”
…
I didn't know what to say. If it was me i would have instantly taken the job but she didn't, ATI or the Advanced technology Institute was a multinational Technology development company with their logo being Designing Tomorrow, you usually had to get recommendations to work for them but she was offered a position right out of college. Instead she stayed with her delinquent little brother who was failing in life over a cushy life in a Penthouse suite somewhere else in the world.
'I’m just hope i saved her from dying that night'
“100 years into the future and everyone uses the reactor she designed as the core to many inventions and discoveries that forwarded the world towards another technological revolution even as far as being one of key technologies in colonizing multiple planets.”
"And now about you." she said.
She snapped her fingers and a big book appeared.
