Hey guys, its your humble Author here. Sorry about the late upload, but on the bright side my little sister turned 11 yesterday. I finished converting all the boxes from the previous chapters to actual RPG style boxes so everyone just do a little happy dance. I will most likely be fixing some of the earlier chapters just because looking back on them they look horrible. If you guys have any suggestions(Do please) or see a box i forgot to convert or any other problem just leave a comment.

The gods cannot directly interfere with the world and i would have heard something from kyanu if someone from heaven broke that rule. I am most likely dealing with either a mortal god or rogue god which in both cases end with me in a bad spot. Mortal gods are mortals that accumulated enough power to be considered the lowest of low in the immortal realm, and a rogue god won’t be bound by the rules making it unpredictable. The possibility that it might be one of the nation's cracking the secrets of teleportation magic did occur to me but i dismissed it because something like that would not be kept in a cave full of kobolds.
After the mage disappeared through the door i decided to do a little more recon into the area. I manipulated the pixie scout into moving around with a video feed being directly sent to my mind. I fly the pixie high above the cavern floor looking down upon the rural environment. There wasn’t anyone in sight except me and the guards in the square. This had me concerned because kobolds live in caves and burrows and if they were not in here where were they?
I wanted to fly around a bit more but the kobold mage came back and motioned for me to follow. The guards were told to stay put and i followed the mage through the mysterious door. Suddenly i was flying through a spiraling vortex of spinning clouds and lightning, but the mage looked relaxed and calm as we flew down the tunnel. When we made it to the end we were spat out of the tunnel onto a floor made of a dark stone with beautiful pattern carved into it. I couldn't take the spinning and overwhelming light after exiting a dank dark cave so i threw up after we were spit out.
“I am never doing that again” i said to the mage who was looking quite calm and cool.
After i finished chucking up the contents of my stomach i looked around to see the place we were in. We were in what appeared to be a large antechamber with soaring white marble columns, a double set of grand staircases with gilded hand rails, and a large set of double doors made out of i can only guess what. Above the door was a crest with the symbol of a half face with sharp features and pointed ears….
“So that's where we are” i said.
“And pray tell where do you think you are” a load womanly voice
The double doors of the and a woman with elegant features came out. She was wearing a dark green dress with flowing dark brown hair, brown eyes, and wore a elegant circlet, but what was most notable was about her appearance was that she had pointed ears...
“I think we are in Rillang, Capital of the earth faes, and based on your appearance i’d say you are the ruling monarch of the faes” i said back.
“Close, but not so i’m afraid. The ruling monarch is my mother and i am but a simple princess” she walked down the stairs while telling me this.
“Who are you, and why is there a spatial magic door that is connected to here in a kobold lair” i asked.
“Rude but to the point, i am Hulo, 2nd princess of Rillang and current ambassador to Ryalia” she replied.
Fae city’s unlike beastmen or human city’s, exist in a alternate dimension because of the abundance of fae there are. The population of the earth fae alone would be in the hundreds of millions, but only a small fraction of them live in Ryalia. The original Fae race did not originate from Ryalia, they were a people that had been forced out of their home world by the destruction. The ancient fae king, Oberon, decided to split up the remaining fae into smaller life worlds that could move to try and increase their survival and in doing so the fae factions were formed according to their elemental power. The fae, without a home, set off through time and space to try and locate a place to call home. The journey through cost the lives of many and some of the factions were never seen again.
After many years they had only found worlds that would have either exploited them for whatever reason or worlds that feared them until they found Ryalia. It was a budding planet, with life just beginning and people just starting to learn, but to them it was a chance. So in exchange for teaching them the ways of magic, they would be allowed to anchor their worlds which existed in another dimension to Ryalia as satellite worlds, but only 4 of the 7 fae factions were accounted for. The rest were lost during the journey and have not been heard from since.
“I hope that you would tell me your name little one” courtesy isn’t my style usually but i’ll make an exception for my curiosity’s sake.
“Fraxia of Forest Shadow Village” i replied.
“Ah, a commoner-”
“You have a problem with that” i questioned back.
Normally only nobles and royalty have a 2nd name and everyone else is named after the village of their birth.
“I care not if you have one name or seven what i care about is that artifact on your arm”
I forgot i hadn’t deactivated my armor yet.
“This mage here, Merrick, tells me that you brushed off pressure from one of my subordinates, and that you fought with great force even without an arm and leg. I am very curious as to where you acquired such artifacts” She pointed to the black gauntlet that was on my arm.
huh, apparently this kobold could understand me he just doesn't fucking talk. Honestly it would have saved us some time and energy if he would use his mouth. If she want’s to take it from me then i most likely will have little chance to resist. Without my limbs i am still only at half strength and this lady in front of me seems to have quite a bit, even if she doesn’t fight there are most likely guards or soldiers hidden around here somewhere. I am only concerned what she will do if she finds out that i can’t take it off.
“I assure you i am not interested in stealing it from you if that is what you are wondering, however i can see that it contains great power. I would like to know who gave it to you, i understand that whoever it was must be quite powerful. Truth be told i would like to make a deal with that person.”
“What sort of deal” i asked.
“Well you see, the current king of the fae is dying. That is a secret that few are privy to but some might have guessed already, but the secret itself would cause much unrest within the fae kingdom. You see once the old king is dead a new one will likely be elected. My mother has taken over the position of ruling our earth kingdom to prevent any ambitious fae from outright trying to seize it and gain rights to ruling the fae, but the fae need a new king and my mother unfortunately being a woman cannot accommodate.” she says.
“I don’t think i am suited for kingship, no matter what race you belong to it is awkward to tell the people that their new king is not of their race” i said. I am not particularly interested in ruling the fae although it would be handy to have a strong power base.
“I do not wish for you to rule the fae, what i want is your benefactor’s support for my own candidate. You see i have found someone that i believe to be fit for the title, but he has no support from the fae noble houses. I cannot support him for my own forces are being suppressed by the Salamander clan. The Salamanders wish to put their own man on the throne, but the man they have chosen is a horrible fae. His name is Gatan, and the rumors surrounding him suggest he is a very cruel person. I had my own man go and investigate him and the next day his body came back with a note saying to stay out of the way” she explained.
“This time next year the king will most likely die and a new one must be elected. The process involves the current fae population voting and the noble houses from various factions testing the candidates in a series of trials. If the nobles don’t accept him i fear for his life thus i want to ask your benefactor for help”
The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
The problem is that while i do have a god as a benefactor i can’t tell her that a god is backing me much less the god of Death/Hell. The thing is gods don’t usually mentor mortals and a god of death is considered a omen of calamity.
“I’m afraid you have made a mistake, i did not acquire this artifact from my mentor or a benefactor i found it in some ruins, and i am afraid that i cannot give it to you”
“Then please could you help us, i will pay anything you ask”
“I do not want to get mixed up in your politics. I am sorry but i cannot help you”
The princess looked dejected. While her cause was probably a good one i need to lay low right now, and showing off my power to reinforce a monarch candidate does not fall into that category.
“And if we take no for an answer” the princess said looking back up at me.
“Then i will show you how strong i am, even i look crippled i can still take a few fae with me” i challenged back.
This isn’t good. I can only bluff and say whatever i can to prevent them from attacking me. In my weakened state i won’t be able to last even a few minutes against this fae princess. Its not that i don’t want to help them it's just circumstances, and if i help them it won’t be for free.hmmm….time to dangle a carrot.
“I might be able to help you to some extent, i can't display my talent outright but i can work behind the curtain, however i require something in return”
While i probably won’t have a lot of swing in the fae world what i can do is back the princess from the shadows, however i don’t exactly trust her yet so i want to test something.
“What do you require”
“Well you see, i need someplace to train without consequence and i saw that magic door in the kobold cave soo…”
“The spatial door? Magic like that is easy for us whose ancestors could move entire armies though space. Magic like that is only a small scale spell”
“Then how about a trade. In exchange for someone teaching me spatial magic i can support your candidate from the shadows. Things like taking down another candidates stronghold or assassinating a some official i can do” i hope she takes this deal”
The mage was staring at me as if to say “what do they feed kids these days”.
“hmmmm... please give me some time to consider your proposal”
“Alright, do you mind if i stay the night, in the main world it is dark and the forest is not a good place to be”
“Very well, merrick please take our guest to a room where she can rest”
The kobold, merrick, nodded his head and motioned for me to follow.
“Oh and one more thing” i said looking back.
“What is it” she asked.
“What is the name of your candidate”
“...Gram, Gram of Mellock”
And with that i nodded my head and walked off to follow merrick to find a bed.
POV CHANGE
The Holy Kingdom
My name is Berop, i am a human, i was born in the town of Wogal in holy kingdom. When i was 10 i went to apprentice to the court scribe and after 10 years of study and practice i was promoted to his majesty's personnel scribe. As his scribe i keep track of any and all events and meetings he might have to attend as well as information and rumors regarding the other kingdoms. As soon as i was told about one of the court seerers having a vision i came to pay her a visit. I know for a fact that some seers just use their blessing to make money while others were not even true seers for all i know she could be a pretender.
Her name was Gertrude von kaiser, and she was found collapsed on the floor of her quarters by a maid early this morning. She was rushed to the infirmary where after doctors tried treating her she grabbed one of the doctors and started thrashing about screaming about something about Foxes and war. So i came to see myself.
I was rushing down the hall on my way to the infirmary when i could hear the screams of the old woman inside. I opened the door and stepped inside to find the doctor trying to force some medicine into her mouth but she was going insane. her eyes where glowing green and she was strapped down to the bed. I have seen seers before, and i know that this was not normal.
The fox’s path has begun
Death will run rampant, and chao will fall
The humans will plot and demons shall run
Ye shall Betrayed the fox enthralled
A love shall die, a nation shaken
Take heed oh races of light
All will lead to the serpent that shall awaken
For if you have no kindness, your days will be numbered with no hope in sight
With that gertrude collapsed and was still.
The doctors all checked the old womans vitals but looked at me and shook his head. Pity though, as far as i knew the she was a kind woman who did what she could to help those in need. I soon left the infirmary a bit shaken. I had heard that some of the things that a seer foretells are ominous but that was pushing it a little. Nevertheless i must seriously consider what she said to be true. The old womans predictions had always been spot on and even predicted the dragon's arrival but no one listens to an old woman.
Considering she died giving this last foretelling i must tell the king about this. Of course prophecy about calamity or destruction were always a normal part of the lives of seers but one whose patron was Visia the goddess of prophecy where taken very seriously. I must check to see if gertrude was a disciple of Visia, but if she was then for the first time in over 100 years a true prophecy of calamity has been foretold.
I proceeded to the temple of Sight where i met the head priestess. She was a middle aged woman with black/slightly graying hair and wore a dark blue robe covered in stars.
“I am Berop, scribe to his majesty the king of the Holy Kingdom of Naluxus”
“I am lissara, a humble servant of the goddess Visia”
“I need some information about one of your priestess”
“Of course, i am always happy to assist the royal court” she smiled.
As if, she was anything but happy. The head priestess to my understanding was a very biased person who quietly discriminated against those who did not agree with her beliefs. As this was the Holy kingdom all religious practices where permitted, but that doesn’t stop different churches from clashing.
“I need to know whether a certain seer in the royal court did or did not receive a blessing from your goddess”
“Of course, may i please know the name of this certain seer” she asked briskly.
“Gertrude, i do not know of her birthplace but she was employed in the palace” that should be enough to identify her.
She nodded to a sister at her side and told her to go search the records for such any record of a person named gertrude that lived in the castle and worked as a seer.
“Until then may i offer the you my hospitality”
“Please” i said
Another sister brought out a tray of tea and biscuits.
“Now tell me Mr.scribe, why do you seek this information”
“I hope to confirm something, unfortunately if it is true, then i am afraid we shall have a calamity on our hands”
