Chapter 56: A Chance

Hey guys so a lot of people don't really know what I'm talking about by Sash.  Or Art of the Sash for that matter.  You're having trouble picturing that it can be destructive and well practical right?  Well for one it is indeed impractical, HOWEVER it it not to say that it is weak.  So I prepared a video showing exactly what I mean by the Art of the Sash here take a look:

------------

As Owen arrived at the foot of the mountain he realized something was wrong.  While walking on the upslope he could feel the vibrations under his feet and the roars of animals.  To be more accurate they were Devourers.  But there was also another sound that Owen picked up.  Although these low grunts were muffled, with Owen’s sense of hearing he was able to pick up the sounds just barely.  These other sounds were Ferals.  This made Owen confused, though the relationship between Pathwalkers, Ferals, and Devourers was a three way battle, for the most part Ferals and Devourers relied on instinct.  They would rather fight Pathwalkers then each other.  Naturally Devourers would still attack Ferals to become stronger and likewise Ferals would do the same thing.  But Pathwalkers were still the purest of the three and usually the weakest.

Devourers could rely on their overwhelming strength or their beastial abilties, while Ferals could rely on their miraculous regeneration speed and incredibly strong bodies.  As for Pathwalkers, they usually had to rely on weapons of some sorts in order to compete with the other two. It was an undisputed fact that Pathwalkers were able to fight on par with the innate abilities of Devourers and Ferals because of their wisdom.  But what would happen if that was no long their benefit?

As Devourers and Ferals get stronger they become smarter as well.  Eventually they will have a consciousness that will be on par with Pathwalkers.  Although the three paths are different, their end goal is the same.  They all wish to strive to be gods.  However when they become gods, their goals change.  They become different beings entirely and the laws that wrap around them also change.

So what does this mean for Sin of Anger that changed the Ferals?  Although the sins usually end up breaking the Path for the evil, the heavens themselves are also fair.  The Ferals get thrown on a similar Path as the Devourers and the strongest will live and become a god.  Everything in front of the heavens is treated with equality.  Whether they be beasts, sinners, monks, warriors, kings, or even the gods.

Now that Owen knew what the noises were from, he became curious and thought to himself.

‘They must have gathered because of that red gas.  Master said that sometimes with the rebirth of the world, sometimes miraculous objects are born as well.’

They noises were still coming from quite a distance away but because Owen could tell something was going on where the red cloud was coming from he decided to run over to check it out.  Although it can’t be said to be a fortunate thing that Owen was blind, without him being blind he would never be able to use the Blind Motion technique.  Although truthfully the way to describe it was that the user had to have their eyes closed.  This meant not only did they have to be used to not having their vision it almost meant their other senses had to be adequate.  If not other users of the Blind Motion technique would have a hard time adjusting to two different types of perspectives.

It was definitely not something that people could make light of.  As having two different types of visions would take a huge toll on one’s mind.  As such it was hard to say whether Owen was fortunate at all.  And if it wasn’t for the Blind Motion technique Owen wouldn’t be able to see the red gas at all.  Nor would he be able to hear the Devourers and prepare before hand.

“This might be a good chance to get a good head start on other people.  I don’t know what is there but it should be good if there are that many Devourers and Ferals gathered.”

Owen spoke out with a slight smile. His inhaled deeply, allowing the Essence to flow through his body giving himself some extra energy.  He then continued up the mountain.  He also looked back and noticed the distortion in space following him.  He hadn’t noticed it in the Pavilion because there was too many people but now he did.  It was a impure colour similar to his own.  Clearly this person following him was also a Low Opal stage Pathwalker.  But what he couldn’t understand was if the person was an idiot or not.

“That person who just been watching me from around 50 meters.  Does he think I can’t see him or something?  Like he’s in the open.  Shall I lose him before I find this red gas?”

Owen mumbled under his breathe, but what Owen actually didn’t realize at all was the person in question was invisible.  If it was anyone else, or at least any other Pathwalker from this planet, they wouldn’t be able to detect this person at all.  Only because Owen was using the Blind Motion technique could he see this person, which was why Owen couldn’t understand.

But it was still true he had to lose this person, after all he had no intentions on sharing this object with them if he could acquire it.  Also Owen didn’t want to endanger them by bringing them into a group of Ferals and Devourers, after all that person was only following him.  They never made a move on him while he was sleeping and continued to watch him.  If the person wish to harm him he would just leave them alone.
