“Is this where he is?”
A giant blue-scaled dragon spoke. It was a voice that didn’t resemble a human’s. The flow was awkward and it felt as if the dragon said gibberish, but all the other beasts around him heard him clearly as he had spoken perfectly with his mind. It was only after the other beasts looked around that they started to whisper thoughts back and forth, whether or not they truly believed the one they were looking for was here was irrelevant at this point.
Because the moment a god descends onto a lesser world is the moment that the world has the right to step on the pathway to immortality. Even if the god they were chasing wasn’t here, it was true that they were now on the planet. As such they had responsibilities to fulfill. Why did they have too? Even with their current strength they wouldn’t dare ask. Finally, another voice reverberated through the minds slightly causing them to became dizzy.
The voice was soft and calm but it definitely held terrifying power if it was used against them forcefully. The beasts all looked towards a seemingly tiny weak beast above them. It was a wolf, only 3 meters long and 1 meter tall. Its silvery fur reflected the light softly as it was absorbed into the retinas of the other beasts. The eyes of the wolf were also silver but gave off an incredible cold feeling almost as if it was blind. However, the beasts all knew that this seemingly weak wolf, was in fact the most terrifying of them all. It was the Lunar Wolf.
After the Lunar Wolf looked down at the Azure Dragon, Vermillion Bird, White Tiger, Black Turtle, Rebirth Snake, Ice Phoenix, and the numerous other beasts, it finally spoke again.
“Remember the laws passed down. Do not destroy the humans, and do not let any of your disciples kill them either. Azure, Vermillion, White and Black, you will split this land into four and set up the boundaries.”
“We shall do as commanded.”
The four giant beasts immediately bowed in a respectful manner. At that moment the Lunar Wolf didn’t give them a second glance and looked into the distance and disappeared. When the beasts realized the Lunar Wolf had finally left, the heavy pressure they were feeling suddenly dissipated without a trace. The four who were left in charge soon looked at one another and nodded.
“Let us summon the World-Shredding Stalactites.”
The Azure Dragon spoke, and as he did he focused a powerful energy source deep within his body. Matching the Azure Dragon, the other three each took a position making a square. The energy gathered and soon left their bodies colliding into each other. As the energies collided, only a blinding light was seen rising into the skies. The time it took for the light to reach the sky was only a mere few seconds, but for a result to come forth from it? Many minutes passed because of that.
Though as if time was insignificant to these beasts, they waited without a hint of impatience on their faces. Only looking straight into the sky, when the time finally arrived. The earth started to shake, and the skies started to split apart. The previous blue sky started to collapse onto itself rushing away from the shaking and opening to the never ending abyss above. Though the abyss was soon replaced with another scene; what descended was a giant stone. It was shaped like an arrow head, but had a giant hole at the bottom all the way through the top. Only through this whole could the abyss be seen again. Though this giant piece of rock was many times larger than the beasts, as it slowly dropped from the sky, people finally started to notice the sky above them was changing. Though the beasts were huge, they were already so high up even at their size they would only look like pebbles in the distance, but this rock was able to cover the sky and cause an early night.

At this moment many people were staring into the sky; some were crying, others were praying, but the vast majority looked on with stunned expressions. The giant stone in front of them covered the sky: what could that possibly mean? Were the gods angry at them? If so all the people would gather together and destroy every piece of existence of that person. However, how could they know it was because they were chosen. It was supposed to be a good thing that instead it only brought fear.
The nobles, kings, commoners, monks, warriors, fishers, women and men alike all stared with pale expressions. Not daring to move an inch, for they might anger the gods even more. Luckily their fear wasn’t ever-lasting as a voice echoed within their minds.
“Humans, We are the gods and have heard your prayers. As such We will bestow you a chance. A way to change the fate of growing old and dying. After today, you may take the first step into becoming gods yourselves.”
The voice continued to echo within their minds, although it wasn’t because of the voice repeating itself, but because every single word had that much effect on all of humanity. People couldn’t help but be amazed, but before they could snap out of it, another voice appeared in their minds.
“We will be changing the layout of this world, therefore do not resist as We will have those who are in the way of destruction gather in one place. Keep in mind, humans, if you resist a slight deviation can be the death of you.”
Even though the voice was only speaking as a general comment all of the people nodded unconditionally. They didn’t wish to die and in fact it was a blessing for the god to even warn them. That alone said how merciful the gods were being to them.
After he said this, people within the vicinity of the descending rock were immediately teleported to various locations on the continent. Without any other worries, the beasts in the sky all nodded as they did the Vermillion Bird spoke up.
“Thank you Void Rat, as thanks, you’ll be able to chose where to start first.”
“Ah, then I shall do that, thank you.”
Although only the Void Rat could teleport that many people at once, it still required him to put forth effort and with none of the other beasts doing anything, it was only fair. They were neither greedy nor angry, because truthfully none of the beats had any hopes for this planet, but it was too late for regrets now. They could only wait for the World-Shredding Rock to finally land on the continent.
