Chapter 15

Just as Owen, jumped into the crater, he realized that Kovinth was already covering the top.  Seeing this Owen stood there staring at the cover wondering what he was going to do if he suffocated.  Naturally he could figure that that was the point of being inside this crater, was so he would be forced to breath without air.  If he could acquire the Essence through the air he would no longer need the air itself to breathe!

Seeing that Owen caught on without his explanation he didn’t hesitate and immediately covered the crater.  He then telepathically spoke to Owen.

“Now, sit down and concentrate.  It doesn’t matter how you wish to meditate.  But find the method that will make you the most calm and one with the world.”

“I like watering flowers, it makes me the most calm.”

Owen replied bluntly to Kovinth.  As the answer came without hesitation with no change in pitch Kovinth knew how completely serious Owen was at this moment.  Trying to hold back his laughter he continued to speak.

“Just close your eyes. And feel the world.  If you remember that slight warm sensation when you had the Essence travel into your eyes try and feel for that energy again.”

‘I was nearly dying from the pain.  How could I spend any time worrying about a nice feeling over all that pain.’

Owen wanted to reply, but because his eyes had lit of the crater, he felt it was best to close them to concentrate.  Otherwise he would be like a cat to a moving object and continue to follow it everywhere due to curiosity.  The moment Owen closed his eyes was already starting to feel a certain energy within the air.  He had guessed that this feeling was what his master was talking about and he tried to grab out at it within his mind.

“Oh?  This boy is more talented than I thought.”

A middle aged woman in a silver robed appeared beside Kovinth suddenly.  Seeing her arrival, he couldn’t help but click his tongue in satisfaction and call out.

“Old mutt, what are you doing here?”

Knowing full well she her presence wasn’t wanted she faked being offended as she dramatically fell over with a ‘Ah!’ Sound effect to make it even more fake.  No only was the crater covered, Owen was too immersed in the current feeling to pay any attention to what was going on outside, as such he stayed ignorant to the play the Lunar Wolf was playing.  Kovinth on the other hand nearly had his veins bulge out of his skin.  He unhappily looked towards the Lunar wolf with displeasure.

“Fine fine!  I’ll stop playing around.  But seriously Kovinth this disciple of yours might be a genius.”

“What’s a genius?  He simply was born with the right conditions!”

Kovinth answered unhappily towards the Lunar Wolf’s calm remark.  Seeing that he was quite thrilled that she was complimenting his student she couldn’t help but think to herself.

‘Ah he’s still so adorable!’

But she knew better than to voice such a comment.  Instead she agreed wholeheartedly with his comment.  Geniuses didn’t exist in this world, or at least not when it came to walking the Path.  If one wanted to get further down the Path, one must have a calm heart.  They must throw away their mortal desires and become one with the world.  As for Owen, his heart had always been the most calm out of anyone he knew.  His will and determination was already at the peak.  And because he always wished to complete whatever he started, once on the Path he would never look back!  All on top of being blind, was what made him the only existence in the universe that made him qualify to cultivate in the Solar Eyes.

The Lunar Wolf also knew this.  Because like the Sun-dragon her technique was similar in that it required almost all of the same traits but rather than being a male, it had to be a female!  One of essence of fire, the other the essence of ice.  And because she knew that they as two opposing forces, they were bond by a string of fate.  Always fated to meet one another.  As the Lunar Wolf was reminiscing about her own fate with the Sun-dragon he spoke up.

“Osena, are you thinking whether our disciples will meet?”

“Naturally.  You and I both know that we are bound by fate.”

Kovinth laughed at Osena’s quick response.  But he didn’t make any effort to deny it either.  He only, spoke a few more words softly, but even if the sound didn’t leave his mouth Osena would still be able to hear it.

“Maybe he will accomplish that in which I failed.”

Osena, didn’t answer him as it didn’t require an answer but she could only slightly frown.  After all she knew exactly what he was talking about.
