Night 5

Fritz sighed, and sat down in the office. Another night guard didn’t even last the night, and from what he heard from the back… well, it wasn’t pretty. He kicked his feet up on the desk, checked the batteries on the flashlight Jeremy was kind enough to leave him, and wound the music box. The place was now fully on lockdown, because they found a triggered springlock suit with someone inside it. Fritz was secretly amazed that this place was still running, with how unsanitary everything was. He flicked through the cameras idly, stopping to wind the music box or shine the light to check for threats.

It was quiet, oddly. Way too quiet, usually Foxy would’ve made his presence known.

Not even the clanking of the robotic feet or the hissing of pistons pierced the silent night air, and yet… something felt way too familiar. Fritz placed one hand on the Bonnie face he used as a mask, and flicked the light on down the hallway. Nothing. So why did he feel like something was watching him?

It was just him and the ticking of the music box.

He flipped through the cameras, stopping to check on the back room, avoiding looking at… where’d that black rabbit go? He flipped through the security feeds again, almost in a panic, until he stopped in the main room. The main 3 were sleeping, but in a far corner, glowing eyes and teeth peered out of the dark, somehow almost looking… at Fritz. He shuddered, and kept staring, winding the box when needed. He flipped back to the camera, and looked around for the glowing white eyes, but they had already moved on, and were in kids cove now.

If he was gonna die, he would take Freddy with him. He promised that to himself long ago. There was no point in giving up now because some guy he knew for 3 days died and he couldn’t prevent it, that's not what Jeremy would have wanted.

Just as he thought of Jeremy, however….. The lights started to flicker as it hit 12 AM.

In the corner, something started to crawl out of a wall.

Michael almost screamed when he saw it.

A black rabbit landed on the floor with a disgusting squelch, and looked up at Michael.

The black rabbit was covered in slimy black goo, but after a few moments of fear, Michael recognized the suit.

“J-Jeremy??”

‘Jeremy’ Chuckled. “You remembered.”

Michael backed up.

At around the same time, he heard footsteps coming from the dining area. Praying it wasn’t Freddy, he checked the camera.

False alarm, it was Foxy, thank god.

Foxy was tapping his hook against a wall, seeming waiting for something.

Mangle, meanwhile, seemed to have started teasing the fox.

“You’re scared of the new rabbit, aren’t you~?”

“ARR?! NO?!”

“Are you sureeeeeeee~?”

“YE.”

“I think you are afraid of the new rabbit, pirate boy.”

“ARR, SHUT UP, YE…. YE…..” Foxy fell flat, unsure of what to say to his female counterpart.

“You’re so silly sometimes.”

If Foxy’s muzzle had the ability to grow red, it would’ve in that moment.

“Be gone you wee lass...”

Mangle scuttled off, seemingly proud of herself for successfully flustering the red brute.

Foxy looked around again, and grumbled before walking off

As Michael stared, he noticed footsteps coming from the hallway.

Michael shined his light, and noticed Freddy standing in the hall. However, instead of his usual black top hat…. He instead was wearing Jeremy’s security hat.

“You… fat asshole.” Michael snarled.

Freddy chuckled, “Don’t like my new hat? I spent a lot of time picking it out.”

“Oh, sure you did. I watched you kill Jeremy, you fucking monster.”

Freddy quipped, “Monster…? A little harsh, don’t you think? I’m the idol every kid craves to be.”

“A homicidal, fat, egotistical bear? I’m sure the parents LOVE that.”

Freddy chuckled again, “Seems like they really do.”

“Nobody except me and Jeremy have seen what you do for a pastime.”

Freddy smirked, “And those 23 other guards.”

“You’re fucking hilarious.” Michael growled, His knuckles going white as he gripped the arms of the office chair.

Freddy mocked a bow, which made Michael even angrier, “Thank you, may have to do an encore!”

Fritz ran while he had the upper hand, checking his watch. Only 2:12 am, he had a while to run.

“Don’t strain yourself, Mikey…” Freddy called from behind, although Fritz was certain he didn’t mean it in a polite way, rather sarcastically.

“Yeah yeah, shut up” Fritz responded, sprinting faster.

“Keep running.”

Freddy was watching both, showing pure sadism as he watched.

“You can make it.”

Freddy simply chuckled, it was quite evident he could hear the new animatronic. And then he said it:

“Foxy, we have a friend who would like to play with you!”

“Don’t let him catch you.”

“Pest.” Freddy simply grumbled.

Running.

Foxy would be seen booking it toward Fritz.

“You have almost made it.”

Fritz was sweating now, trying to keep moving, lest Foxy catch him.

“We got a suit that be just perfect for ye!” Foxy continued his chase.

Fritz looked in terror back at foxy, and picked up speed. He thought dimly in the back of mind about the music box, and took a detour to the prize corner. He scooped up the music box, and wound it, panting from physical exertion.

“You just need to keep moving.”

“I know, I know.” Fritz wheezed back, slowly losing speed.

“Ye can’t outpace me fer much longer! Don’t have yer damn mask now, do ye!?” Foxy chortled as he quickly gave chase.

“Yeah yeah, whatever.”

Foxy chuckled, he was seemingly unfazed like Freddy was at the snarky comment. “Yer pretty damn’ brave considering what we could to ye.”

“It hurts, Fritz”

The voice now sounded like it was in pain.

“They did this.”

Who was this guy…?

“I’m in the suit.”

Fritz wouldn’t be given time to respond, as Foxy was nearing him.

“Gotta… keep moving.” Fritz wheezed

Foxy chuckled, “Getting tired?”

“You wish.”

Fritz flashed the flashlight at Foxy, attempting to slow him down. Foxy let out a low whine as he stopped for a split second, blinded by the light. He stopped, looked up at Fritz, now very pissed, and charged.

“I should have really thought this out.”

Fritz sped up, and turned a corner, back to the main room. Foxy didn’t follow, it would be easy to assume he got lost while chasing the guard, it seemed the flashlight made him lose his vision for a split second. Fritz took a deep breath, and listened. The steps of the animatronic fox could be heard. Fritz cursed, and snuck out of the room, and into one of the vent systems, trying to hide.

Footsteps of the animatronics could be heard, it felt as if Fritz was surrounded.

Fritz looked at his watch, and read the time. 5:33 am, he was almost finished. He clambered out of the vent, and into the front office, too far away to reasonably make it to the back room to flip the power on.

Steps down the hallway interrupted his thought process.

“Watching you persist is fun, Michael. You're still trying to escape the fate you know is inevitable.” Freddy chuckled as his voice bellowed down the hallway, his tone sounding similar to that of a dad calling his son out. Somehow, despite being furious, Freddy was still able to maintain the calm demeanor, which frightened Fritz more. Fritz scooted out of the vent, trying to slowly get away.

“You just love making this funner for me, don’t you?”

“His fault.”

Fritz paused, listening to both the voice, and Freddy. How did… Freddy know?

Freddy chuckled in response to the shadow, “You're the one that got yourself caught, kid.”

The shadow made a low hissing noise, their glowing white eyes casting a gentle light on their face. Fritz squinted, trying to understand why the suit sounded so… squishy.

Freddy would turn his attention back to Fritz, seemingly ignoring the shadow now, “Tell me, Mikey, why do you still persist, despite knowing fighting me is meaningless?”

“Don’t call me Mikey.”

“Why…. because that's what Evan used to call you?” Freddy giggled.

Michael paused in the vent, his breathing growing rapid.

“D-don’t talk about him like you knew him. He’s gone-”

Freddy interrupted him, “I wonder why little Evan is gone. Don’t you?”

“Shut the hell up.”

The sadistic bear chuckled, “Don’t worry, Michael. You’ll be joining your little brother soon enough!”

Without warning, Freddy would charge at Michael, aiming for the vent. His eyes looked ready to kill, but he still retained the cocky smile he usually had. Michael scooted out of the vent backwards, knowing that he was faster. He scuttled out of the vent, and bolted for the parts and service room, taking deep breaths.

How the hell did Freddy know about Evan? They weren’t even turned on yet when Evan was alive. Then a bigger question dawned on Michael, how did Freddy know about the nickname Evan gave him?

Michael inhaled sharply… this shouldn’t even be possible… Looking around, every old animatronic seemed to be gone. Or at least every one he’d seen. He sat down on the floor, and looked at his hands. Nobody should know who he was, and yet… the aura that Freddy radiated was… weirdly familiar, like the one that the purple bear had radiated. He racked his mind for everything that he had seen, trying to remember who it could be. And then he thought of that one animatronic he’d seen, that sometimes appeared in the darkest corners of his house to the point where he’d learned to sleep with the lights on. Sometimes it would just… stare. It didn’t look like the rabbit, it had more of an emaciated, bearlike shape, with its tophat supported by nothing, and its arms too long to be real. He dropped the flashlight when the bell rang, and the noise died down. He’d have to flip the power on before he left. He rubbed his eyes as he trudged through the damp, dark hall…. As he was about to leave the main hall. He heard the familiar, deep, and calm voice call from behind,

“He’ll see you tomorrow night, Mikey…”

Then the brown bear backed up into the shadows of the parts and service, not to be seen by Michael again.
