It had been a few months since the burning down of Freddy's Fazbears, and the authorities were still baffled.
All the animatronics were completely irrecoverable, and so was everything inside. Matthew and Gary were trying their best to forget it all, but Tracy couldn't.
Her mom had yelled at her, begging her to tell her she was joking when Tracy explained the fate of Aaron, which Tracy had said he'd left while she was shopping for that night's dinner. She knew she couldn't tell her mother what had actually happened. Oh yeah, Aaron was killed by a big brown animatronic bear. That wouldn't get me a psych ward.... Tracy thought to herself.
Matthew looked up at Tracy. "You alright, Trace? You have that look again."
Tracy nodded, "Just.... Thinking."
"You're thinking of what your mother told you, aren't you." Matthew responded, giving her a gentle look as Gary sat down at the table. It felt strangely quiet now without Grant, too.

A memorial was put up for Grant in the hallways of their high school. The police had tried to search for him, but much like Aaron, nothing was found.
As Tracy sat, silently, being lost in thought once more, she began to ponder why that old man had even come in the first place, and how differently that night would've played out had he not, and it terrified her to think about. She silently thanked the old man, and his weird black rabbit friend. At least some good came of this, Matthew and Gary were talking more now, and it felt good to know that people were getting closer, even after that.
Tracy then turned toward Matthew and Gary, sighing. All three were unsure how to move forward. But Tracy knew she had to move on eventually, which she, ironically enough, learned from Death himself.
Suddenly, an unexpected visitor entered the lunch room. The only one who they had told what actually happened.
Max sat down at their table, and looked around.
"Man... what a stupid idea, me telling you to go there."
Tracy just stared at Max, and sighed, unsure what to say. She wasn't mad at him, but at the same time, he was indirectly the reason Aaron was gone. They sat in silence, pondering what life would throw at them next.
There were much worse things to deal with, after all...
