"Don't you dare"
Revealing a sly smile Charlotte opened the Stash causing a pale glow to softly reflect onto her hand as she shoved it in
Scrambling to my feet I tried my best to get to Charlotte before she pulled out something dangerous from within my cube
I kept a lot of different things in my cube after all
It ranged from corpses and weapons to spare food and bedding, I never knew what was going to happen so I always had to be prepared
But before I could even get close to her she started withdrawing her hand revealing a pale white item
"Stop! NO!"
Pulling out a white item with a hint of yellow Charlotte brought it completely out revealing a long almost curving blade like item that ended with a single point
The base was thick enough to remain uncovered completely while the end looked so thin and sharp it resembled and arrow head
But as soon as the rib was brought out there was no room for studying the item as the cube began to warp and creak outwards as if it was over flowing with items. It only lasted for a few seconds before a few blankets and corpse parts came slithering out the top and the cube returning it to normal
That was the least of their worries
As soon as the rib had been completely pulled out it seemed as if the room had become more lifeless, the colours seemed more plain and the air seemed thinner
The single rib seemed to cause the room itself to change and become slightly different, a barely noticeable difference that one might just look over if not for the crackling energy that seemed to pulsate through the bones surface like a thin film like wave
"Don't touch that, it's a tier 4!"
Scared Charlotte tried to let go of the rib but the energy assaulted her fingers and burnt them until they were welded onto the bones surface itself as if worried it would be thrown away
The bone greedily looked for any source of energy it could find. And it easily found Charlotte as she could no longer let go, it was the perfect prey
Looking around for the doctor I noticed her positioning herself between the living flesh and Charlotte prepared to stop any attacks that might stray towards him during the battle
The tendrils of energy shot out both into the air and into her fingers causing everything nearby to continuously look more and more lifeless, Charlotte wasn't an exception as she was growing increasingly paler at a horrifying rate
With no time to spare I launched towards my Stash and reached past the blankets and body parts, ignoring them and the sticky blood that coated both my hand and arm I went straight to the center of the cube and gripped onto a long bumpy shaft yanking it out of the floor and out into the world
Its long brown body seemed to burn under the light becoming a darker brown, almost a black as its thin and long tip that resembled a wolfs lower jaw seemed to brighten up and come to life contrasting the room itself
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
The spear seemed to try to defy the tyrannical rule of the rib bone as its wooden roots began to spin and curl up embracing the bone tip and lengthening slightly
The spears pole arm resembled a small tree that grew spinning on itself causing five distinct indents to spiral up the body and snake in-between the bone allowing it to change its grip
Living weapons like these were especially hard to control, but their power made it all worth it
"Willow bone, separate the bone and the girl without killing her and I'll let you feast"
With a bit of reluctance the branches began to shift and change, one of them grabbed the skull while the others released it and changed their positions
The one grasping the jaw continued to point straight and true, two wrapped around it offering more support while the last two remained straight and gripped the ends of the jaw that still had teeth unlike the pointed end
Smirking I lowered the spear allowing its tip to tap the ground causing a light sound to resonate
It was extremely important that a living weapon and its user communicated, if not they would both end up resisting and hurting the other, if the weapon even had the intelligence needed to cooperate in the first place
Sprinting forwards I held the Willow Bone by its end dragging its tip across the concrete behind me
The rib recognizing an annoyance let its energy spread out and assault the air around it, it didn't hold back as let half of its energy ravage its surroundings
It wasn't smart enough to strategize and think after all, there was only a tiny fragment of a will that struggled for existence within the energy after all
Rolling to my side I narrowly dodged a bolt of energy that streaked across the ground that fell upon the Willow Bone
The bolt seemed to curve and strike into the jaw bone completely avoiding the vulnerable wood that was its original target
The jaw rattled with energy causing a blueish white glow to slide down from the bone and through the indents and cracks of the Willow bone as if it absorbed the energy akin to a lightning rod
'Its ready, now how do I get close enough to strike?'
I continued to run and maneuver around the bolts as I slowly got closer and closer to the rib and Charlotte
Trying to find ideas I threw a cursory glance over towards the doctor that was currently defending against the very few stray bolt of energy that went towards Lucas
She held a slim sword that looked completely ordinary in every way, the only abnormality would be the thin layer of whiteish energy that seemed to crackle and crawl up and down the front side of the blade causing the bolts the forcefully bounce back towards the ribs direction burning the concrete a distance away from her
Her movements were rudimentary and practiced, like a talentless swordswomen with unlimited persistence, honing her ordinary swordsmanship as best as she could
Watching the energies collide for a few moments an idea formed in my head
Pulling the Willow Bone close to my chest as I continued to escape the stray energy I asked it
"Have you gathered enough to go head to head?"
The branches quivered and tightened around the Jaw bringing it close before returning to normal, it looked like a way of nodding in some weird alien style
Launching backwards sliding my hand towards the middle of the pole and the lower part of the body I lowered my self and pointed the tip towards the ceiling
"We're gonna clash with its energy hopefully stunning it then I'll separate them"
The branches seemed to start expanding and contracting viscously as if in protest
"You'll be fine, a tier 3 can easily survive that much shock"
Relaxing a little it seemed to prepare itself for the 'pain' it was going to feel soon
Relaxing I released a big breath of air emptying my lungs for a few seconds before filling them and launching forwards leaning the spears pole against my shoulder to stop my muscles from straining and as a good beginning point for the taxing slash I was going to preform
I ran head first ducking and weaving through the forest of energy bolts yet again, this time I was more adept at it so my dodges became more seamless and professional
It still took a considerable time to approach the two as the energy barely revealed any pathways for me to take
But after some time the number of bolts decreased slightly allowing for more maneuverability between them, before long I saw my opening
Throwing myself forwards without hesitation I launched towards the center of the chaotic energy prepared for the worst
