“So you’re the lad that brought Snappy back to me, eh?” said the dwarf as he brought out steel cups from the cupboard and began pouring some drink into them from a flask.
“Here you go, this will warm you up.” Said the dwarf as he passed the cup to the Elf.
Weed took a sip of the drink.
- Under aged drinking is forbidden. All alcoholic drinks will taste like juice of your preferred setting. Apple juice default setting. –
“The name is Theodore Balkan son of Utmiz Balkan of the Northern Mountain Range. An oddity if it were, I like spending time by self out here in the wilderness than inside caves. Though I love the smell of burning oil in lamps and fresh earth, I love the fresh winds too that blow through these forests. However, much I of an oddity I may be, Dwarf I am as you can see.”
“Weed – Elf from Lavias.” Weed didn’t any titles or long introduction. It was just short and simple.
“Well I must thank thee, for your help in returning Snappy. I just didn’t want to make the trip through the town to collect Snappy. Too much effort and time, you see. So thank you Weed, friend of my friend. Tell me how is my friend Rodriguez the Wise doing?”
Weed coughed and put down his drink at the mention of the name Rodriguez the Wise!
“Too strong was it, eh?” asked the dwarf.
“No.” - ‘The old man! I never asked the old man his name!! He was Rodriguez the Wise!!!’ Weed began hammering himself for not asking the NPC his name. He had a habit of calling old grand pa looking men – old man, old timer etc. But the information here was of utmost importance!
The original Weed in Royal Road too had met Rodriguez the Sage, Star of Wisdom and many such titles as he was known for! It was Rodriguez who led Weed to find the Emperor’s Class / Legendary Moonlight Sculptor and coincidence would have it Lee Jun’s Weed too met a Rodriguez. The possibilities were endless thought Weed, given the commonalities in the names and maps of the two games, it shouldn’t be surprising if the NPCs were the same as well. This could only mean that the quest he received from Rodriguez had a significant probability of leading him to finding a secret profession / affinity!!

Weeds eyes started gleaming with anticipation, this could very well be the start of a grand quest after all! Even if he was behind for so many months and had not leveled his character, an amazing quest like this was all it took to pull ahead of the rest!
“He is doing well, Theodore.”
“That is good to know. Well then, Snappy told me that you played stick with and even gave him lots of meaty treat!” The dwarf scratched Snappy behind the ear. “So tell me, what can I do for you for treating my dog so kindly? I will try to fulfill it to the best of my abilities given that the task is within my reach.”
“Rodriguez the Wise mentioned to me that you are well versed in the ways of the sword? Could you please teach me the ways of the sword.”
“HAHAHAHAHA!” started laughing the dwarf. “Me well versed in the ways of the sword? That’s a good one, I got to remember that when I see him. Sword…”
Weed was slightly confused; this was not quite the reaction he was expecting.
“But he did say that you were in a league of your own and that elemental users would come to you for lessons in the ways of the sword.”
“HAHAHAHAHA.” Theodore kept laughing and stopped only when his stomach started hurting. With one arm one his stomach, to control the laughter, “See here elf, I am a dwarf, now everyone knows a dwarf is only good in one thing; making things. We are clever with our hands and with that I don’t mean sword fighting but rather blacksmithing or other artisan skills.”
“But I am sure, this is what Rodriguez said!” exclaimed Weed.
“I don’t doubt you elf. Rodriguez would have indeed said that but his nature is rather forgetful. He almost always confuses or forgets things. Chances are he most likely confused me for someone else.”
“But he is Rodriguez the Wise! The all knowing! The Star of Wisdom!”
“Star of Wisdom? Well that’s a new title I have heard. Wise yes but forgetful as well. I wouldn’t trust his words blindly if I ever you elf. He confuses names, places and people. He did not lie to you when he said there was a neutral master whose skill in swords were second to none, I am sure there must be such person. However, he confused him for me, dwarf whose blacksmithing skills are second to none!” chuckled the dwarf.
“Teach me!” cried out Weed. The original Weed was a sculptor, so there was a chance that Lee Hyun who was the original Weed designed the game where another non melee profession good was the greatest profession! Weed was not thinking straight, he was much too influenced by the name Rodriguez the Wise. He wanted a profession without seeking what it entailed. He was making a wild reckless guess that this profession was indeed the greatest, with too much of a gamble based on Weeds overly active imagination.
“No.” said Theodore.
“Please! Did you not say you would reward me for taking care of Snappy so well?”
“This is this and that was that. The secrets of dwarves should remain with dwarves and the secrets of elves should remain with elves.” Cooly replied the dwarf while slowly sipping his drink.
Weed took a deep breath. There was no use in getting overly excited. This was a battle of words, an NPC had to be twisted and wrangled till it gave in.
“I understand, you are absolutely right Theodore son of Utmiz. Elves would keep their word and dwarves would never. We really shouldn’t mix the two up.” Weed had a cold malicious look in his eyes. If requesting kindly did not work, there were always other ways into coercing the dwarf into giving in.
The Dwarf swung his hammer on the table breaking it into two. “ELF YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR!” roared the dwarf.
Weed sipped his juice. “Theodore, I only repeated what you said. Did you not say you would reward me for kindly treating your dog? Did you also not turn down my request?”
“But secrets of dwarves should remain with dwarves! Elves have no right to learn our secrets!” angrily replied Theodore.
“What was it that you said? I will do all that I can to the best of my abilities given that the task is within my reach? I guess dwarves have a habit of lying as well don’t they? Or are you implying that you in fact don’t know how melt and forge iron and the ability to do so escapes you? Wait! Didn’t you say your blacksmithing skills were the best? Tch! Lies after lies. Clearly that is all dwarves know how to do unlike fair elves who keep their word. So many times, did Snappy want to take a break and so many times did I stop for Snappy. I kept my word, will you Theodore son of Utmiz? Or should I believe that the sons of Utmiz are incapable of doing so? Or that all northern mountain dwarves are liars and dishonor their word. A treacherous bunch I would rather say, wouldn’t you agree?”
Theodore seemed like he was going to explode anytime soon.

Authors Note:
1. I made a slight mistake in previous chapters. I swapped between two words carelessly: Stats and skill points. Stats are passive and active. Active Stats are skills which players can use, Lions Roar. Passive Stats are DEF, STR, AGI etc. Skill points are what goes into stats. I didn't know all this, but I have corrected it in all previous chapters. Apologies for any confusion it may have caused.
2. I define Base SP as SP which players get on account activation and level up. Bonus SP as SP which players get from marketing schemes or quests.
