Landing on my futon, I feel slightly heavier than usual but everything is good. Sis is on Dragon duty and I can finally relax for a few minutes before I get on with whatever I decide is on top of my to-do list.
The sound of city life below is like music to my ears, relaxing me as I take a deep breath in. As I'm sighing in relief, that singular moment where I was supposed to be alone is disrupted by a fight over space.
"Wait. Why are you still here?" I ask one of my girls as she shuffles around on top of me.
"Because I can."
"We're besties, Abi."
"It's dinner time, Master."
"Yeah, but... Didn't I tell you to stay at the daycare with Sis?" None of the triplets seem to understand what I'm asking and they're right to confused. I didn't tell them to stay there. I just wanted to get out of there after Becca started murdering the drums.
"No."
"No."
"I thought you mentioned dinner, Master."
Of course you did.
Letting out a sigh, I can't help but smile. I like these three and I don't really want to head back to the Dragon Daycare right away. Becca will still be trying to deafen everyone inside, I just know it. I could send them on their own, but that would be cruel.
Screw it. I'll just keep the triplets. They're not that bad. Their personalities are growing in me too since the aren't constantly begging me to do some dungeon'in, like some other people do.
Are they really people? Me's body was created by me and Sis... Only the gods know how she managed to make one where not a single strand of hair ever falls out of place.
Tch.
Creating three smaller futons, but still royal in quality, I place them on the tower beside mine. Purple for Violet, yellow for Blondie and red for Amber, so that they know which one is theirs. I also make some cute dragon plushies, one each to give to the triplets and three for more because I love cuddlies.
"Ok. You girls can stay here with me. The company is nice I suppose. Anyway, that's where you'll sleep. What do you think?"
"It's alright." Is all get from violet.
"Thank you, Abi. I love it. Is that one for me?" Whereas Blondie seems more grateful, diving on top of her futon immediately.
Amber stares at her futon before looking at me, her lip quivering and tears appearing in her eyes. It would be great if she was that emotional over being given the privilege to live with the big boss, if that was the case.
"Yes, yes, Amber. It's dinner time now." The redheaded Oblivion Dragon turns into a different person and we head to Ali's. It's amazing how she can swap personalities in the blink of an eye.
At dinner we see Anya and Lola. It's always nice to catch up. I tell her about the daycare so that Lola has the chance to go play with the other Dragons if she wants to. The four girls then demolish more food than a dozen men before we're done and we say our goodbyes.
"I like my futon, Master," Amber finally answers me as we make our way down the street, licking sauce of her chin as she does.
"Good. That's what I was aiming for," I stop to clean Amber's face for her and we continue on our way towards the residential area. We're on our way to Prince Sillybollocks' house because I'm finally going to start working through my backlog of tasks.
Can I keep calling him that? He's been doing pretty well recently. The Dragon was a bit... Whatever, but he was top dog against that God. Maybe I should ease off on him now. Unlike Prince Loudmouth, Light is slowly settling down. Noir, ontheotherhand, just seems to get louder and louder every time he sees me.
As we round the corner, Amber takes off in a sprint. The little Dragon already seems to know where Light lives and, arriving at his door, knocks a little too vigorously before running back to us giggling.
"Why do you have to knock so damn loud, Noir!" I hear my Assassin shouting from inside. "Every damn time. I swear to the Core, if you've ran off again, I'll hunt you down and..." Light stops mid-sentence as the door opens and he sees me. It takes him a second to notice my child-sized entourage before he scowls at Amber.
"Oi. We'll have less of that," I warn him before he shakes it off. Sticking his tongue out at the redhead instead.
"Sorry, Master. Noir's been a pain in the... He's been a pain recently. Forget him though, what brings you to my home? I would have happily came if you had summoned me."
"Let's talk inside," I smile at the strongest Assassin in Varona and he welcomes us in. Even Amber, who he knows is linked to his rival. Once inside, Light leads us into the living room and everyone takes a seat. I then explain the reason for my visit.
"Now that I've finally got the time, I'm ready to do your evolution." Light bursts out in excitement and starts jumping up and down while shouting "Sophie!" The ex-dungeon diver bursts into the room brandishing a large bloody knife and a smaller, yet definitely more noticeable bump on her belly.
What the hell?
Sophie places the knife down after seeing the happy expression on her partner's face and pulls him into a hug. While that's happening I can't help but to steal glances at Sophie's tummy. There's definitely a bump there.
As I'm thinking of teleporting away, pretending that I was never here in the first place, Sophie whispers something in Light's ear and he turns to me looking confused.
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
"Master?" Is all he says as he waits for my response.
Shit.
"Y-Yes?" I shakily reply, all whilst hoping that Sophie's bump is in fact caused by a good diet of fatty meat. Sadly, Light shatters that illusion as soon as I thought of it.
"Sophie says that my baby is in her belly. Is that true?" I look at Sophie's bump again. Feeling more confident that I'm not prying and that yes, there is definitely a baby inside that belly.
"Yes," I answer a little more confidently this time, even though I certainly don't feel it. The famous question - How did that happen? - the one that rotates around my dungeon on the wheel of eternity, springs to mind. Not that I want to ask as I already know the answer to that one. What I'd like to know is, how can I get out of this situation without feeling any more uncomfortable.
"Sophie said it was because we had sex."
There it goes. The sound of the world fades away and I'm pretty sure I'm redder than the roses in the vase on the mantle. I look at the triplets, but they're just giggling between themselves. Not that I can hear them, but I can see what they're talking about by their faces. Then to Sophie, who also seems to be slightly embarrassed, but is taking it nowhere near as hard as I am. Before returning back to Light, who is still waiting for an answer. He's not even fazed about his off-handed comment.
And I was going to stop calling you Prince Sillybollocks.
"Yes," the word was almost a whisper. Why do I feel so embarrassed by this? Yes I created him, but it's not like I'm his actual mother. Yes, I think of them as my family, but he got his body before I did. Doesn't that mean, technically, that Light's older than I am?
This is too weird.
Trying to talk myself out of my own delusion, I come around to Blondie pulling on my sleeve. "Abi."
"Yes," I murmur before the mischievous little Dragon jumps up and slaps me around the face.
What the hell, Blondie? I feel hurt. Emotionally. What did she slap me for?
"Abi. You have said 'yes' four times in a row."
"Yes," I repeat before shaking my head. "I mean, I know. I know. I was just... Thinking. That's all."
"What about?"
Don't put me on the spot like that, Blondie. I thought we were family. I'm even letting sleep in the tower with me.
"Light's... Evolution? B-But also the baby. Congratulations, Sophie. Er... Well done, Light?"
I don't actually know, Blondie. All in all, I'm nearly eighteen years old myself and have no idea what to say in this situation. Five minutes ago dungeon summons having babies was not a thought that had crossed my mind. If anything, it's one I would rather avoid for the rest of my life if possible.
Light and Sophie talk between themselves whilst I debate the finer points of human/dungeon relations. Not that there's much I can do about it since Light and Sophie are already an item. What was past me thinking when she sent the ex-dungeon diver on that mission with Light and Dropper?
Abi the Un-Insightful obviously didn't realise this would happen. She was probably having a good laugh at Prince Sillybollocks and didn't think about how it would affect her future. Well done, me.
"Ok. It's evolution time," because I need to get the hell out of here as soon as possible. "Are you ready, Light?"
"Ever since I killed that God," he boasts, even though I told him not to talk about it. I also notice that he didn't say 'we'. Maybe he doesn't really want this evolution?
"Fine," I pout, activating my menu and chosing confirm. We wait, but no grand light encompasses my Assassin this time. In fact, the whole ordeal is kind of lacklustre. Wanting to sound like I know what I'm doing, I check Light's stats before I say anything.

Inventory
It has been a while since I looked, but the new categories are obvious. The ability to have a second class is amazing all on its own, however, I find my eyes drawn to the inventory section.
When did he get that?
I can't help myself and have opened the inventory before I even realised what I was doing. To Light's surprise, further embarrassment to myself, and to Sophie's horror, out pours a deluge of toys that one would normally find hidden away in drawers, rather than a Master Assassin's inventory.
I don't have any words for what I'm seeing as my brain has been fried in the last two minutes.
With that, I grab the girls whilst congratulating Light and Sophie on their cross-species pregnancy as well as his evolution, then teleport us away as fast I can before anything else can happen.
In the safety of my tower, I wonder how that all went so wrong. Although, it hasn't actually managed to get better now that we've left. To my own horror, Amber managed to snag herself a chocolate-shaped edible and is already munching down on it. I know full well if I try and take that off of her there's going to be a problem, so I close my eyes, pretend what's happening really isn't and move on to my next task.
"Please go better than the last one," I pray to no one in particular while activating Divinity's Domain. I'm reluctant to open my eyes, but when I do I find that all my problems have disappeared.
Literally.
In what can only be described as the Lazy God's pad before it shattered, I'm all alone in a room made of white. Instinctively I'm aware of what I can and can't do in this space. I can add and remove objects, furniture and decorations. I can change colours, sizes and textures. I can make it brighter or darker all at will. It's like being a Dungeon Core prepared me to use this space perfectly and it's exactly what its name described it to be.
My domain.
I'm so grateful it worked like it was supposed to. I almost want to make myself cry with water magic. Sis is obviously on my mind, but at least she's not in my domain. With how it feels, I'm pretty sure the only people that can enter are those I allow access. Which is even better.
"I might have to make this place my new bedroom," I laugh, making some major renovations to the Lazy God's old home which is now mine by right of victory.
A fireplace emerges from the wall with a Direwolf rug laid in front. The two chairs are replaced with comfier, green ones and a bed appears at the back of the room. Bookshelves and drawers fill the walls and behind them, hat was plain and boring white, turns sky blue. Clouds appear and float along the backdrop making me even happier with my Domain.
"This is amazing," I compliment myself on a job well done whilst taking a book from the shelf and sitting down on the rug in front of the fire. Don't get me started on how, but the story I picked out is a fantasy novel that I've never read or even heard about before for that matter.
Apparently, it's a love story. One about a poor girl who sacrifices her own life to save her fathers, after he pulls a dick move near the beginning. In doing so, she becomes a prisoner to a terrifying creature. It's not as bad as it sounds, however. The monster feeds her, clothes her and provides with luxuries, the likes of which the young woman has never experienced before. She was even beginning to have feelings for the beast, but that's as far as I got.
Laid in front of the fire, wondering how a fantasy story I've never heard before has found its way to exist in my domain, I put the book down and close my eyes. Falling asleep next to the heat of the crackling logs, the only thing on my mind is that I won't see Sis when I wake.
That and how stupid the girl in the story was for sacrificing herself.
Why would she do that? It's not like I'm against the idea of self-sacrificing myself for my family. They don't go around stealing things all willy-nilly though, just because we're a little short on funds.
Don't be silly.
They bring the beast back for absorption instead.
Still, no Sis in the morning.
Bliss.
