The Raiskar were always a secluded race from the world. They were aware of the existence of other races outside their territory, but for them, it was normal not to venture beyond their borders; there was simply no need to do so. It could be said that the only race they had interacted with up to that moment was the Nebul beasts, since throughout history these two species have fought for territory and resources.
However, the Nebulists of this race (as they called themselves), who were responsible for imparting knowledge about Nebulaether, the most important discovery to date, presented a public petition to the king with the purpose of being authorized to venture outside their territory in search of ideas and knowledge that would allow them to continue understanding and developing Nebulaether.
To be honest, there was no need to make a public petition; simply sending a letter to the king would have allowed them to leave the territory without any problem. But the king decided to take this opportunity for the Raiskar to gain deeper knowledge about the other races, so he organized groups with the Nebulists acting as leaders, or at least that was what the advisors were told, but the reality was different.
The groups were nothing more than bodyguards tasked with protecting the Nebulists. After all, for the king, these individuals and their research were crucial to the future of the Raiskar, and by making them the leaders of the groups, he ensured that their escorts would take on the role of guardians without realizing his true intention.
No one knew it, but the king himself was a nebulist. But this fact had no influence on his decision to overprotect his professional colleagues.
In any case, this pilgrimage helped to rapidly advance the concept of Nebulaether, something that would have taken centuries of research in seclusion was completed in a couple of years. Of course, first they had to convince the different races of the existence of this mysterious energy.
Which was not difficult, many villages were on the verge of disappearing due to the constant attack of the Nebul beasts and the larger settlements barely managed to survive so they refused to receive more people; unless they were outstanding warriors. But these warriors usually had a village to protect, so it was a crossroads where they had to choose between dying with their people or abandoning them to their fate.
The knowledge of this mysterious energy was synonymous with prosperity, so the poor dying races did not question why these strangers were offering them such a wonderful gift, and simply accepted it with open arms.
With the first part done, came the tedious part, which was teaching these races how to use Nebulaether. This proved to be more challenging than they expected, as for the Raiskar, using this energy was as natural as breathing, but for the other races, it was a totally unknown concept.
However, soon the prodigious and talented individuals from each race began to emerge, which helped accelerate this process significantly and also provided new ideas to the Raiskar; ideas that had not even crossed their minds before. In this way, the pilgrimage of the Nebulists bore fruit, leading to the Nebulaether ceasing to be a developing theory and becoming a law governing the world.
Nevertheless, a couple of interesting events occurred in the process.
Firstly, no race was able to replicate the 'Nebul weaves'. The Raiskar believed that it was through these weaves that one could access the Nebulaether of the world. However, without exception, no one was able to obtain the Nebul weaves, but despite this, they were still able to become weavers, which dismissed the idea that Nebul weaves were the gateway to Nebulaether. Instead, it became a racial trait of the Raiskar, much like their eyes.
The second curiosity arose upon their return from their pilgrimage. When the Nebulists gathered to combine all their findings and thus further develop their idea, they realized that everyone had progressed in different paths; in fact, some results even contradicted each other, which was eye-opening news to them.
Until that moment, they believed there was only one way to access Nebulaether. So this new discovery excited them immensely as they realized that the possibilities of Nebulaether were limitless.

Over the next few years, some groups of Raiskar led by a Nebulist would occasionally visit other races in order to lend them their assistance, become closer and strengthen their bonds. However, the reality was different; their true reason for doing this was to observe how much progress these races had made in the use of Nebulaether, and if there was any idea that interested or benefited them, they wouldn't hesitate to absorb it for themselves. But these occasional visits ceased when rumors of war began circulating.
Naturally, over time the generation that received the grace of the Raiskar had changed. Few knew that it was thanks to them that the multiple races had managed to survive their worst moment and the few who still remembered that moment, believed that they could not be grateful forever. In addition, great cities, nations, and kingdoms had been born. The kings and rulers of these new metropolises had to watch over their people.
Having a large number of subjects has great benefits, but at the same time, the problems are also of that magnitude. Resources seemed insufficient and trying to invade a neighboring city was just asking for more problems. Whoever won would gain new lands and more mouths to feed, since these cities were in the same predicament, making it unviable.
It happened during a meeting of the kings, who were trying to share ideas in order to overcome the tough times. One of those present proposed the idea of seizing land from the Raiskar. Only a few chosen ones had been able to visit these lands, but they all said the same thing: it was a dreamland, a land capable of supplying the resources they lacked.
Surely with some time and effort, they could overcome the problem themselves, since they possessed the land and the workforce. However, these new kings were inexperienced, and seeing the situation of their people led them to desperation and a desire for a short-term solution. That's how the decision to invade the Raiskars was made.
However, the preparations took longer than expected. While it would have been easier to develop a militia if the entire kingdom cooperated, the kings feared that there might be traitors among the people and that the news of their actions would reach the ears of the Raiskar. They were aware they had only one chance, and if the element of surprise was lost, it would be impossible to defeat them. Thus, only the rulers, who held gradual meetings to keep track of each kingdom's progress, knew about the next move.
The public was not foolish; they knew that a war was looming. After all, many talented young people were being recruited en masse, but neither they nor the weavers who were being trained could imagine who this war would be fought against.
In the end, several years passed before all the preparations were ready. By this time, all the rulers had realized that if they had invested that time in developing their lands, the resource problem would have already been solved. But it was too late; their towns were in decline, and the population kept increasing.
At this point, the land of the Raiskar was their only salvation, or they would be forced to dissolve their kingdoms and return to being mere villages.
With everything ready, it was time to tell the army whom they would be fighting against. Surprisingly, there were few who opposed the idea, but just as the leaders feared, among those few who opposed the idea, there were those who decided to inform the Raiskars this valuable information.
Indignation. That was what the Raiskar felt. They had been so immersed in developing Nebulaether that they completely forgot to pay attention to what their neighbors were doing. By the time they realized it, the enemy army was already marching towards their territory. Hastily, the king ordered all Raiskar to gather in Origin City. The most powerful weavers hurriedly ran through the villages of the territory, transmitting the king's order.
Certainly, they were used to fighting the Nebul beasts, so they were not afraid of war. However, the coalition of all races was something that the small villages could not face alone. In fact, the six leaders were worried that not even the united strength of all races would be enough to overcome this war.
The Raiskar knew they faced extermination, but they were not willing to surrender.
Maybe if they had faced this calamity before their discovery, they would not have minded abandoning the territory. But now it was different.
The Nebulist's research led them to discover that there were places around the world where the Nebulaether currents were not circulating, places where even though the Nebulaether was denser, it did not appear to be a current, but a fountain. It was from these places that the Nebulaether was being born. They discovered several of these fountains along their travels, but none as large as the one in their own territory, which they dubbed Fountain of Origin, so it was now impossible for them to give up this place.
It was this that led them to wage a desperate fight in which they relied on their knowledge of the Nebulaether, their battle prowess and their incredible stamina to win.
It was thanks to the Nebulist's research that they were able to implement barriers around the city preventing them from being besieged. In addition, this strategy ensured that the army focused only on the main gate, where their racial characteristics and experience gave them with a slight advantage.
However, victory was not easy, and only a third of the Raiskar who participated in the battle managed to survive. There were those who wanted to launch a counterattack, but with the king dead, they first had to stabilize their forces before they could show their faces to the world again.
