The rebel plant that couldn't escape its fate

The rebel plant that couldn't escape its fate

Experiment N°1 Test 3

Luckily getting the raw material was not so difficult this time, now I must confirm my previous theory, so for this test I had to look for a new plant. I thought about trying it on one of the two previous plants, but because they have already undergone changes they would not confirm my theories, it would only confuse me more. In any case, what I plan to do is to apply all the blood to the roots instead of spreading it as in the previous tests.

The first part of the experiment was the same, the second part on the other hand did present a big change, which was a great success for me because I could confirm my theory, but it was also a big failure for the plant, I mean, the plant died.

The first few days the plant went from a dull gray color to a brighter gray just like before, but when it was supposed to grow like the previous plants, it went from gray to black and then it simply withered and turned into dust blown away by the wind. It was as if years of life had passed for the brave plant in a single second.

'Excess nutrients, so that's what happens, although I understand that the plant can absorb nutrients from the blood since it's alive, but, why can the leaves also absorb fertilizer?

*Haaaaaa*

"I'm sorry deceased plant, I appreciate your sacrifice, but I will have to continue experimenting on your sisters. I know it won't bring you back to life, but I promise that when I succeed, I will create a beautiful place where they can grow and bear fruit at their heart's content. If that's not enough, then when I leave this place, I will make their seeds spread all over the world"

"......"

"I promise"

Experiment N°1 Test 4

I initially thought about doing a test with a dead plant, but decided to postpone it for a few days, but since I can't stop, instead I will replicate the experiment with the first plant but adding a smaller amount of liquid.I wanted to know if this would shorten the time it takes for the plant to absorb the nutrients.

Unfortunately, the days passed and the plant did not show any results, it did not even turn gray like the other plants. It was a fruitless experiment, a waste of time.

While I could try multiple plants at once to prevent these types of events from wasting my time, I like to camp next to the plant so I don't miss any details, which complicates things, since the seedlings I'm using for experiments are a bit far apart from each other.

But not everything was disappointing, the first plant shows signs of flowering, it seems that the blood not only accelerated its growth but its development in general. I can only wait to test its fruits and see if there is any change in the fruits, and if there is, then test if those fruits can give me the key to decipher how to learn magic. Of course, the ideal would be that by eating the fruit I would become the greatest magician this world has ever seen, but with my bad luck I'll settle tisfied that it gives me some clue or that it does not turn me into some plant-type monster.

Experiment N°1 Test 5

It was time to test a dead plant and I had the perfect candidate for the job. It's not that I held a grudge against her for wasting my time, it was just that I didn't want to damage any more plants when she was more than willing to be the guinea pig.

But as always happens to me, things don't usually turn out the way I expect them and although the outside of the plant looks the same as before, when I tried to pull the little bastard out it was impossible, it was like trying to move an elephant. Of course, at first I thought it was simply because I don't have much strength at the moment, so I tried to pull up another seedling and succeeded without any effort, so it was clear that the problem was with the plant, not me.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

Unfortunately for the plant, I am not all alone, after all I have the multi-purpose Danamus as my assistant, who had no trouble getting the plant out of the ground with his magic tricks. In any case, it was not difficult to find out why I was not able to pull it out, and it pains me to admit it, but the plant had been smarter than me. Its roots were huge, similar to those of an adult tree, and they were excessively hard, as if they were made of metal.

A brilliant idea came to my mind and for a moment I thought about creating a knife or a sword with the roots, but again nothing turns out as I expect and as if to mock my idea. In an act of revenge for uprooting it, the plant turned to dust, leaving only the small crater on the ground from where it was uprooted, as a last mockery to me.

Or it may also be that the lockdown is affecting me and the plant only turned to dust because it had nowhere to channel the excess nutrients it had absorbed before. Which would also explain why the first plants are still growing. That is, plants instead of consuming everything at once as I had thought, are storing the energy contained in the blood somewhere in their body to make use of those nutrients little by little.

It was a moment of little lucidity, but I could not lose my focus from my initial purpose. Although, well, the disappearance of the rebellious plant was evidence enough to confirm that the plant must be alive, but again, it was a moment of little lucidity, in any case the result was the same, after a couple of days the plant simply disappeared and that was the end of the experiment. Clearly I could have saved myself a couple of days, but hey, it's done, time can't be reversed...... I think.

Experiment N°1 Test 6

With that curious event overcome, it occurred to me to apply blood to a plant only on the stem, an idea of the previous failure. I had thought about the roots, but if I did that I couldn't monitor the changes, I could only make assumptions, which would result in another homicide. So the stem was the answer. In addition, it also helps me to check if they absorb the liquid with their whole arboreal body or if I was wasting the precious blood in the first experiments.

After about three days I found out that apparently I am smarter than I initially thought and that my first idea of spreading the blood all over the plant was right.

The result was the same as the roots, but in the stem, of course, it would be strange if the roots were strengthened when the blood is in the stem.....right? Although I am not sure either, I mean, if the plant is alive it could make the decision as to which place to strengthen, which would raise new questions, among them, do the adult plants know what I am doing with their shoots?

"I just hope they're compassionate and understand my situation. I don't want to die eating a fruit that's supposed to be safe"

The truth is that the stem looks as if it were made of steel and the plant is the perfect size to become a club. But you learn from mistakes, and before implementing any idea, I asked my companion to cut off some of the bark and just as I feared, the moment the piece of bark came off the plant, it rotted and disappeared into thin air, like its predecessors.

So the idea had to be discarded, at least until I figure out how to prevent the plant from turning into dust. Of course, for that I must first understand the magic, so for now I can only wait for one of my experiments to yield positive results.

Experiment N°1 Test 7

Finally, in the line of experiments on seedlings, only the leaves are missing. Initially, the experiments were supposed to end in the dead plant, but because of the rebellious plant and the hardness of its roots I had to modify my plans. The bastard made me spend time even after her death.

To be honest I didn't have any hope, I did it just to fulfill the itinerary. I mean, it's been a while since the first experiment and all those plants have are flowers. I was hopeful since they both bloomed quickly, but after all this time there is still no sign of fruit.

It is possible that the nutrients contained in the blood were not enough to accelerate their maturity until they bear fruit, but even so it is disappointing because I thought that it was precisely the fruits that had the solution to my problems. Besides, I don't dare to give them more blood and risk losing all the progress I have made because of my impatience, it's exasperating but what else can I do?

Curiously, the experiment that I least expected any important result was the most remarkable. The plant itself, like the previous ones, kept its color and shape, but its leaves grew a bit and became as hard and sharp as steel. In addition, its color became a pale gray.

But the most remarkable thing is that the leaves after being plucked from the tree did not rot immediately like everything else, they lasted a few minutes before disappearing, which was enough to give me a joy and lift my spirits. They are not swords, but now I have a tree of leaf-shaped Shurikens, they will do me some good.
