Getting too caught up in overthinking won't be helpful either, what I want are solutions and locking myself in a cycle of thoughts that only lead to more questions, is the opposite of what I need. What I can do is gather information about the nightlife of the place, what happens with the animals during the night, something that until now was impossible, I mean, my eyesight was already poor, and just as the day is clear, the night is dark, very dark, to the point where it's hard to see even a short distance ahead.
But now things are different. Well, I still haven't recovered mentally from becoming the reincarnation of Terrara and the fact that I now have to eat fruit is a bit depressing. Besides, I usually use the fruits that I grew, but the trees, which I accelerated their growth were the ones that were closest to me, so they were the first to suffer the beast's attack Though conveniently, some fruits survived the holocaust, though not many, just a couple at most, 12.
“Sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order to advance *HAAAA* No one said being a successful mage would be an easy task"
Sure, I could make use of the fruits of other trees and I think it would ultimately be the same, but the fruits of my trees are bigger. I'm sure that thanks to having been fed with the blood of my companion, they contain more energy and are also more delicious. Which although it may not seem important, it actually is. At least their delicious taste helps my mind to minimize the trauma, allowing me to eat without suffering too much.
Although on the bright side, at least I know that to make use of the skill [Snooper], I don't need to worry about the risk of choking, so the hamster Mae made his appearance ready for the night adventure. With all preparations in place, I took one last nasal breath to calm myself before focusing on the darkness, waiting for the gates of the supernatural to open.
To be honest, I was a little nervous. The earlier mishap with the beautiful elks in the forest set off my alarm bells. Although they have the appearance of being peaceful, the fact that they turned to look at me just at that moment, was perhaps too much of a coincidence. It makes me wonder if they just decided I wasn't worth the trouble, like happened with the armadillo and let it go, or this place really is safe and they, knowing they can't get in, didn't bother to try either.
But if the first option turns out to be correct, then it's worrying. I mean, if the same thing happens in the future with an animal more temperamental that might enter the ruins, the outcome for me will be terrible. The unknown is always scary, I just hope to have some luck this time and that everything goes well, or at least in case of an unexpected event, that the consequences aren't so bad.
Maybe I'm a genius at this and didn't know it, but my concentration when reaching the meditative state no longer wavers. Yeah, it doesn't happen instantly, it takes me a few seconds to prepare my mind, regulate my breathing and calm my body, but it all seems very natural, as if I've always done it and now only remember the past. I'm aware that it doesn't seem very important; I mean, even deer know how to use magic and I don't, but that doesn't make it any less important to me.
The first piece of fruit was crushed by my teeth, and as I'm almost an expert in this art now, as the substance went down my throat, I could feel how the energy made its journey to my eyes, thus starting its continuous circulation, initiating the improvement of my eyesight through the connection with the substance, which in turn enhances my visual ability, allowing me to zoom.
Previously, when I achieved this feat, my eyes zoomed in instantly, and that sudden change of perspective caused my mind to be disoriented regarding the information it was receiving from my eyes. That disconnection caused the brain to have to go through a moment of adaptation in which it suffered from dizziness before processing the information and getting used to it, and only then could it regulate the amount of magnification it wanted. It was just a moment, but it was an instant of confusion that I wanted to avoid.

But this time was different. When the connection was established, I wasn't forced to go through that unpleasant moment, I just felt like I could do it if I wanted to and feeling like I'm in control is delightful, knowing that something follows my thoughts and commands, it's a wonderful feeling. Although, well, if you think about it, it makes sense after all, I've been practicing hard since I've had access to magic. Besides, I’m a fucking genius, so it's only natural that control over my abilities has improved tremendously.
Although, if you ask me, it's a curious state, I can move my head but not my body. I have the sensation that if I were to try to move any other part of my body, I would be forcibly taken out of meditation and I don't want that to happen. Although it would be great if I could move in this state, but it will be a topic of research for later. For now, my mental capacity is busy maintaining this state, which also involves not forgetting to chew and swallow the fruit, since it is what provides the energy to be able to achieve it.

'let's see what is hidden in the night of this place'
The light projected by the sky is not functional, it's just enough to see what you have at a short distance and not stumble over your own steps. But beyond that, it's all darkness. Although the improved eyesight allows me to see things more clearly, it's only in the daytime, I mean, it was just a slight improvement in eyesight, I didn't get night vision, so it's hard to locate where the animals are. The only way to find them in the darkness is by the occasional sounds they make, but that's not precise.
But despite its imprecision, it's the only way I have at the moment, so whether I liked it or not, it was what I had to do. But it was difficult to find the animals who are covered by the cloak of night. Every time I heard a goat bleat, I used my skill. Unfortunately, with this method, I can only estimate the direction but not the exact location, so I failed many more times than I would have liked. Every time I failed, I had to wait until another deer made some noise to try again.
But it was difficult, not impossible, and my unwavering will along with immense perseverance eventually paid off. It may have been an hour or less of searching until I managed to locate a group of goats, which were led by a robust male at the head, who, along with other males of similar build surrounded the females and the young ponies. They seemed to be alert and were constantly snorting as if they were communicating among themselves.
Of course, this is just my assumption based on the movement of their jaws. I mean, I can't hear them unless the noise they make is loud enough to be able to reach my ears in the tower. But having located the group, thanks to my skill, I can see them with a wide view with which I can try to guess what's happening, and according to my observations, I can discern that they are being chased or hunted by another animal.
I must say that despite the bad situation the deer could be in, I'm a little excited because it would be my first sighting of a predator, of course, apart from a certain lazy dragon. But I don't count Danamus in that list, because even though the young dragon feeds on goats, I think he, like me, is an invader, not a local predator.
Of course, there could be more dragons in the vicinity of the ruins, but honestly, it's so unlikely that I don't take it into account. I mean, I would have seen them by now if they were around here. Danamus, being a young dragon, is already quite prominent, so I can imagine the size that adults would be. Besides, there's the fact that so far, no mama dragon has appeared, nor are there any traces of another being having inhabited these ruins in a long time.
All these things together make me think that Danamus doesn't belong to this place either, and of course, I'm referring only to this place hidden by the forest that surrounds us, since I don't know how big this world really is. What kind of beings are those that inhabit this world? what kind of intelligent life exists? In fact, I don’t even know if humans exist as I know them, I mean, now I don't even know if I myself am still human.
In any case, I'm sure that Danamus doesn't belong to this world either, otherwise it would be weird. I mean, I take for granted that outside this forest or in the depths of the forest itself, there are more dragons, just as I take for granted that out there , too, there are intelligent beings. Maybe they are humans, dragons, human-dragons or dragons mating with humans, I do not know, but I hope that there is some being with whom I can communicate.
