Notes: Reduced stat gains from skills down to 1 per level Oh, I also changed some mechanics for the spiritmancer class, specifically he cannot have spirits out all the time and needs mana to ‘awaken’ them and maintain their form.
Notes 2: I grew bored of the dungeon, so here’s a timeskip.
-----------------
Biting cold wind whipped across the empty desert nightscape, bringing with it a vengeful frost that never froze the sand. Not that it stopped my skin from getting frostbite. I grumbled in annoyance. “Stupid weather! Daring to harm our glorious body!” “Can we cut it?” The girl and woman in my head glared around and drooled respectively.
Grunting in annoyance I shifted my foot so it didn’t immediately sink into the bottomless sand. Damn it, I wish I had snowshoes… sandshoes? I shook my head and continued determinedly striding through the desert night. Rising over a sand dune I spotted a small legion of campfires in the distance, and frowned while looking over at them. More goblins? I haven’t seen any since I escaped the ruin. Quickly I brought up my status to make sure everything was optimal.

My health was down three, but that shouldn’t be much of a problem with my bloated stats. Well hopefully these won’t be goblins, and even if they are I should be able to manage. On top of that I’m going to need food… “Then cut them! Cut them~!” “Hmph! These miscreants should offer us their lives no matter their race!”

I sighed and ignored the voices while pondering whether to approach the campfires. Finally, after several moments of indecision, I shrugged and started walking closer. Gathering more information won’t hurt. While diligently walking and keeping an eye on my surroundings I took a quick glance at my skill list.

I sighed in disappointment, definitely not the level I want them to be at. “Hmph, they should level faster for us.” “Fufu, at least they help us cut things!~” And I definitely do not have the amount of skills I would like for surviving on my own. My proficiencies will help with that, but it would still be easier if I had class trainers available.
Closing the window I quietly searched the surrounding sands for sentries before slowly creeping my way up the dune that would give me view to the fires. Suspiciously the night was silent besides the wind and the faint crackling, absent of the clamour of voices and sounds that would accompany life.
Frowning I reached the top of the tall dune and peeked over, instantly wrinkling my nose in disgust as the metallic stench of blood and burnt flesh penetrated my poor nostrils. Looking down I found the remains of what was probably some armies camp, the randomly burning pyres illuminating the blood-soaked, corpse-strewn sands along with several hulking shadows that were happily munching on the remains of humanoid soldiers, cold metal and all.
Quelling my twitching eyebrow I looked at the beasts in annoyance, these things again? I don’t even remember what the system called them. “Not that it matters! They should bow before us!” “Cut~ Them! Cut~ Them!”
Quietly I observed the monsters, debating on my future options. On one hand the beasts should be near my current level, on the other hand there is seven of them. Although there is space inbetween them… The beast closest to me sniffed the air and looked in my direction, eliciting a tired sigh from me. There goes the element of surprise. “Cut them~ Cut them~”
Not even roaring the beast bolted towards me quickly covering the sixty odd meters between us. Gently I retreated back down the dune, giving up the advantage of high ground for blindness of the other beasts.
Without a single care the beast barreled over the top of the dune and started crashing down towards me. Instantly I summoned Raphael and slid up to the side while thrusting, narrowly avoiding the beast’s arm and leaving a long gash in its side that was severely widened by Raphael’s five after images. The beast grunted in pain and its tail flew out to hit me on the pass by, which I simply bent my body to avoid. Skidding down the down it growled in frustration and rapidly started clawing its way upwards.
Switching Raphael for Ariel I dashed down to meet it, flowing around its gigantic fist and thrusting the tip of Ariel into the beast’s exposed throat. Damn it, I narrowed my eyes and rolled to the side as it pummeled the ground I was at a moment before. “Tsk.” The neck is too thick. Not giving the beast a chance to recover I jumped forward and hit the ground, knees bent, to avoid the wildly swung fist, then switch Ariel with Raphael and pierced the beast’s heart.
The beast coughed up blood and tried to crush me in a bear hug, which I promptly avoided by desummoning Raphael and rolling under its impressive manhood, then avoiding the whipping tail as it hopelessly struggled to land one blow before its death.
Retreating a safe distance I waited a little while as the beast collapsed, then *ting~
