Dimly I felt myself waking up to my head being gently stroked by a feminine hand. Wait, head!? My eyes snapped open, and I instantly recognized the lack of mana surrounding me, the lack of double vision and processing, the lack of tails on my buttox. And more despairing then that I felt the lack of a link with anyone. Flysa, Jerae, Reverie, Choco, my children. Gone.
“““““I see you are up young one.””””” I looked up and realized I was getting a lap pillow from a very elegant woman with sharp features that seemed to twist and warp as I stared, as if she was constantly transforming through various creatures.
“U-um, who are you?” I asked, realizing my voice was back to how it was before I died.
The woman smiled slightly, “I am ----’s, goddess of evolution.” She sighed, “As for why you’re here… Frankly some idiot rammed their dimension into the one I placed you in.” She ended with an animalistic growl.
A bit of panic gripped my heart, “What about Flysa and the rest?”
“Normally they would be dead, and while there is no way I could have saved them all I sealed Jerae, Flysa and three of Flysa’s children in a pocket around your soul.”

So over three hundred of them died… Tears threatened to spill out of my eyes as my heart lurched in my chest.
Gently the goddess stroked my head with her shifting claw-hand, “Don’t worry child, while I couldn’t save them they will all go into the cycle of reincarnation. Death isn’t permanent after all, merely a stepping stone.”
Calming down I sent her a questioning gaze, “So what is going to happen to me?”
“I’m obviously going to send you into another world for my entertainment.” She said with a smile.
My face cramped a bit, then I sighed. “What world will I be being born into?”
“To make things easier on me you will be born into a world like your original one, except further in the future where VRMMORPG’s exist.” She smiled like an excited child and flicked her finger, various bits of information flowed into my head. “In this world I will have you play a certain VRMMORPG that will come out seventeen years after your birth. Until then you are allowed to do whatever you want, as long as you keep yourself away from death; which with all things considered won’t be too hard with the family you are going into.”
I gave the goddess an odd look, “What about Jerae, Flysa and my three children?”
She waved her hand, “If you play the VRMMORPG I’m telling you to you will be able to summon them as familiar’s.” Remembering a point she continued, “Right, if you play games made by Digital dreams there will be a bonus when you finally play the game I want you to. Now then, go on my child.”
With a flick of her fingers my consciousness was sent away, and a minute later I opened my blurry, distorted eyes.
