Chapter 33 - Inscription Master
“Are you positive that he is here?” Dex questioned Leah who was standing out in the open.
“Yes, I do not like it when you question me Dex.” She told him in a slightly cold tone.
Dex shrugged his shoulder, “Well it is not like we are wandering around looking for someone who you won't give us a description of. I mean that seems fishy if you ask me.”
“Shut it, you’ve been complaining since we first arrived here.” Vixen butted in.
“Do your followers always behave like this?” Ignel asked Yan.
They were both following behind the other three, it seemed as if they did not want to be associated with them.
Yan gave him a slight smile but said nothing.
“You’re only siding with her because you two are the same, both girls! Yan, Ignel, you two side with me on this matter!” Dex told them.
“Sister Leah, just give the child a description of the master maybe then he will stop his crying.” Vixen asked Leah.
Leah sighed deeply. “Inscription Masters usually wear an orange robe, but his is slightly different because he is one of the few sixth stage Inscription Masters. So his robe is embroidered with a sky dragon on it. He is old, but that does not mean he is weak he looks around forty and has dark purple hair…”
“So that guy over there?” Dex asked as he pointed towards the alley.
They turned their attention towards the alley he was pointing at only to find a wounded man leaning against the wall.
“My god! Who on earth would dare harm an inscription master? Even my grandfather wouldn’t do such a thing!” Leah was shocked at the sight.
They rushed towards the man that was leaning against the wall. His left arm was missing, and some parts of his skin was purple. They could tell that he was poisoned with something.
Yan clicked his tongue in annoyance as he could hear footsteps coming towards them.
“You dare to kill an inscription master!? I’ll have your neck for this!” A cold voice called out from the open.
The inscription master glanced at Yan and grabbed his hand.
Yan felt something warm on his hand as he pulled his hand away in a hurry.

The inscription master lost all his strength as he fell to the ground. He was dead. Yan glanced at his hand that the inscription master grabbed and he couldn’t believe that there was a crow tattoo on it.
A crowd was blocking their way out of the alley. It seemed that the person that was trying to put the blame on them gathered a crowd around him as well. This set up, it could not be a coincidence, he was sure that someone did this on purpose. Maybe it didn’t have to be them that came here first, but whoever found the inscription master would take the blame.
Yet, they did not know who they were dealing with. Yan would take the blame for this? His crew would be executed?
“M-master!” A voice called out as a twenty something year old male came forward. His long black hair reached his lower back, and his facial features could be on par with that of a woman's. Due to the tone of his voice however you could tell that this was not a woman.
His movements were quick as he knelt down beside his master and grabbed onto the man's hand. “No, master you cannot die! You cannot die yet master!” He was foolish to think that his master would wake up just because he said he can’t die. He felt pain, a fire was burning in his stomach and nothing could stop it from spreading!
He glared at Yan and the gang, “You did this!”
“Like hell we did this!” Dex spoke up.
“So you dare to say an official from the alliance would lie? Do you know what that could cost you?” The man that spoke up earlier asked.
“So its the alliance again is it? Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better you show up.” Dex replied.
The officials eye twitched as he listened to Dex speak to him that way. He was an official from the alliance, people bow down to him. When he walks the streets people know to make way. His status might not be as great as a sect master, but it was still enough to have face in town.
He was a middle ranked master sage, yet this child in front of him dared to talk back? He would show him! As he went to move his hand, he felt his arm was on fire.
Golden flames appeared on the hand he was about to hit Dex with. He tried to shake them off, put them out, yet they didn’t disappear.
“My friend here says we didn’t do it, that means we didn’t do it.” Yan said in a cold tone.
He glanced down at the inscription masters apprentice, “You, what does this symbol mean?” He asked as he showed him the crow tattoo.
The apprentice saw the tattoo on Yans hand and got up to take a closer look at it. “Wh-where… how did you get this?” He asked.
“That is a question you should ask your master. He put it on me before he passed. Now, what does this symbol mean?”
The apprentice glanced at the official who was gritting his teeth in pain as the flames on his hand were slowly dying down. “You have harmed an alliance official, do you know what that means? Because master gave you that mark, I know you did not kill him, however that is all.” He clenched his fist as he turned around. The crowd of people were whispering to each other as they saw what happened to the alliance official.
“You are starting a war you should not. Things spread like a fire, it is best if you get out of town before the situation gets out of control.” He told them before he left.
“So now that he is dead, do you happen to know anymore inscription masters?” Dex asked Leah.
Yan turned towards Leah and she nodded her head as she left.
“Guess i’ll go find us a place to stay.” Dex said as he knew they were not leaving.
Vixen followed behind him leaving Ignel and Yan.
“A murder of an inscription master as soon as we land. I have to say humans are the same as ever. But, you have to find it strange right?” Ignel asked Yan.
