Chapter 14 - New item at the Auction House

Chapter 14 - New item at the Auction House

Gazing at the young man with an orange hat over his head, and naked upper body, he couldn’t wrap his head around it. Who walks around naked? He went as far as claiming he had some things he wanted to auction.

Pulling his black mustache, the man didn’t know what type of item this guy wanted to sell him. They have an auction coming up within a few days, and someone wants an item to be added to it.

He already decided that if this item wasn’t good enough, then it wouldn’t even be put on display. There were many valuable customers coming to this auction, so they decided to put out all their high value items.

First, he said that his items were never seen before in this world. The man ignored his remark, but continued listening to him. There are many items that come in and out of the auction house, so naturally he has seen most of what this world has to offer.

A pill that can help someone breakthrough to become a sage? Pft, child's play. He has sold four of them before.

An ancient cultivation method uncovered? They have two being put in the upcoming auction.

A high grade weapon? Laughable, as the man took a look at his sword, it wasn’t even a spiritual weapon. Even if it was, a spiritual weapon would not be good enough to be put in this auction. They already had two Mythic weapons for sale.

No matter how he thought about it, this ordinary man could not bring out something he hasn’t seen before.

Watching as the man before him pulled out a white roll of paper, he realized that he was a cultivator. His eyes turned to the silver spatial ring on his finger, he could instantly tell it was a high grade spatial ring.

‘It seems he has some capabilities.’ The man thought to himself.

He probed the man for his cultivation, but failed. Why did it fail? Simple, the man before him wasn’t a cultivator. What kind of item could a mortal bring to this auction? His eye’s went to the white roll as he also probed it to see what was so special about it.

He felt like leaving right now! This white roll wasn’t even good enough to clean his shit up, let alone be put in the auction. He could not leave though, that would give the auction house a bad name. He also had to be courteous to all customers that came in.

Soon, the man started speaking about what was so special about this item. He called it a vivre card, that’s able to locate anyone in the world no matter where they were. It could also tell whether they were dying or not.

‘Sigh, why do people think they can pull the wool over my eyes. This is clearly a piece of trash, and yet he wants to sell it.’

As he continued listening to the man explain about the vivre card, he soon said that he might not believe him. He tore a piece off of the roll, and told the man to drip his blood on it.

The man complied and did what he told him to. He was slightly surprised as his blood was absorbed by that paper.

He told the man to hold on to it, and grinned weirdly. The man felt strange, as if he was in front of a monster. His hand moved towards the man piercing his flesh. Blood flowed out of his shoulder, as guards rushed by his side.

“How dare you attack me?” He asked the naked man.

“Look at the vivre card. You wouldn’t believe me if you didn’t see the effects yourself.” He told him.

Glancing down, sure enough the vivre card was burning. It wasn’t burning the paper fast, in fact it was slow. The naked man said that he was only wounded, so it only burned a little. However if he kept on losing blood, then the paper would continue burning.

‘Phenomenal! I must show her! This is an item many people will fight for, we must put it in the auction.’ He thought to himself. Taking glances at the naked man and the vivre card in his hand, he decided.

Waving his hand to disperse the guards he said,  “Give me a minute, I must get my boss.”

“Take your time, i’m not in a rush.” He told him.

‘Fuck, you might not be in a rush, but do you realize the item you have?’ Thinking that, the man took his leave.

He went into the back room, where his boss was usually at filling out paperwork. Knocking on the door, he waited.

“Who is it?” A sweet voice asked.

“Bing Zu.”

“Come in, this better be important.” The sweet voice told him.

Opening the door, he smelt her perfume and took a few more whiffs. A sky blue dress that clung tightly to her body, showing off all her curves. Long black hair that fell down to her lower back, Bing Zu would call her an angel. He would not call her that out loud as he did not want to lose his job.

“Miss Chun, a customer came in with a very valuable item. I believe its quality doesn’t lose out to any of the items currently listed for auction. Also, it’s a new item that we’ve never sold before. I can’t even tell you the price for this one item, it seems like the bidding for this will be fierce!” He said energetically.

Miss Chun was curious as to what kind of item could cause Bing Zu to exaggerate its price. He was usually able to tell how much the cost of an item was by a glance. “What is it?”

Bing Zu raised his hand and showed her the vivre card. “He called it a vivre card. It is able to tell the location of anyone in the world, and their life-force. If it burns that means they are in danger and close to dying. However, once they are recovered, the vivre card will recover the parts that were burnt!”

Miss Chun didn’t believe him. No, she couldn’t believe him! If this item was real, someone would have found it long ago.

“From that look Miss Chun I can tell that you don’t believe me! Haha, I also thought the same, that was until I seen the effects for myself. Go on, attack me. Just… don’t be too rough.” He told her.

Miss Chun was his boss, but also the granddaughter of the owner of the auction house. Soon her father would inherit ownership, and it would pass on to her. She was already twenty three but already in the Sage realm. She had peerless talent for cultivation, and multiple sects wanted her to join.

One must understand that for someone to reach the Sage realm before they are twenty five can be considered a genius whose talents couldn't be calculated. A genius would reach the Sage realm at least by the age of thirty, and if others were lucky, they could reach that realm by their forties.

Her grandfather didn’t allow her to join any of those sects, he taught her himself. If she got involved with those sects who knew what sort of trouble would befall them later. It was best if she didn’t join them.

Everyone knew that if they continued trying to pursue her into joining their sect, they would feel her grandfather's wrath! His strength wasn’t weak either, only a few could be a match for him. Although he wasn’t Immortal, he still held the strength of an Emperor.

Miss Chun nodded as she gathered energy into her finger. Aiming it at Bing Zu, a golden light shot out and pierced straight through his shoulder.

Blood gushed out of his wound, as his mouth had blood leaking out of it. It was a simple attack, but highly effective. Bing Zu wanted to scream out in pain, but held it in.

He was stuck at the Sage realm, he was already past his prime. Trying to breakthrough at his age wouldn’t do much for him. Even if he could become a Master Sage, he would end up dying in that realm.

‘Fuck me, I told her to go easy!’ He started cursing in his heart.

The vivre card in his hand started burning faster, as it shrunk.

Miss Chun’s eyes brightened up as she noticed this. “Bing Zu, this is indeed an item that we can’t tell the price of.” She told him. Producing a few green colored pills, she tossed it to him. “Hurry up and heal. We must see if it will recover what it has last!”

Grabbing the green colored pills, he nodded as he popped them in his mouth one after another. The wound on his shoulder started healing at a speed that was visible to the eye. As he was healing, the vivre card in his hard also started recovering the parts that were burnt. Soon it seemed like it was never burnt at all!

“Come Bing Zu, I must pay this customer a visit. Who knows what else he has on him. If we can gain more of his treasures, then that will benefit us.”

“Indeed, maybe we can buy the information off of him as well. He must have found this item somewhere, as long as we know the location who knows what else we can discover!”

Bing Zu led Miss Chun to where the naked man was at. He was still standing there with his hands behind his head. Miss Chun glanced at him, then looked at Bing Zu. “Where is he?” She asked him.

Laughing, Bing Zu pointed towards the naked man. “That is him.”

Eye’s wide open and eyebrows raised, she had to make sure that Bing Zu was pointed towards the naked man. Upon entering, she already checked him out and found that he wasn’t a cultivator, so she thought he might be browsing. Although she found his style to be different, she wasn’t appalled by it.

She wanted to ask if he was joking, but seeing how Bing Zu walked over to him she soon followed after.

“Mr… er, I never caught your name.” Bing Zu told the naked man.

“Yan D. Yu.” He told him.

“Yes, Mr. Yan, this is my boss Miss Chun.” He introduced Yan D. Yu to his boss.

“Are you sure you aren’t pulling my leg? I surely thought your boss was some old man, but who knew it was such a beautiful woman.”

Bing Zu felt something coming up his throat, but swallowed it back down.

Miss Chun didn't seem to mind and took it as a compliment. “Nice to meet you Mr. Yan. I’ll keep the matters short, how many of those vivre cards do you have for sale, and do you have anything else for sale?”

Yan D. Yu took out two white rolls. “I only have these two items for sale, you can cut them into smaller pieces and the effects will still be the same. I’d say you can make three or four smaller versions if you cut it right.”

Both Bing Zu and Miss Chun were stunned momentarily. They didn’t think he would have so many of these vivre cards. Even if he had two more, that would have been enough. Instead he pulled out two more rolls, and they could be cut into smaller pieces!

In her head, Miss Chun already started to do the calculations for how much the auction house would get as commision. Even if she didn’t know the exact amount that these vivre cards would sell for, she had a rough estimate.

Miss Chun produced a grey paper, and handed it over to Yan D. Yu. “Please drop your blood on this contact. It basically tells you that what you put up for sale will cost you five percent of whatever you make. Also saying that we won’t run off with your items.” She told him.

Yan D. Yu nodded and did what she told him. This was one of his biggest fears. Was that they would run off with his items and selling it off, leaving him broke!

If they did such a thing, he would crush them!

As he finished signing the contract and passed it back to her, Miss Chun asked him a few more questions. Yan D. Yu told her the location was a secret and not even if she gave him her body would he tell her where he obtained those vivre cards.

As they finished up, Yan D. Yu left the auction house.

“Miss Chun, he is hogging all the fortune to himself. We must find out the location!” Bing Zu said to her.

This matter was of great importance, if they could get more of these vivre cards, the auction house would make a fortune! They were already well off, but with the vast amount of fortune they could gain with those vivre cards, they could finally set their plans into motion.

“Bing Zu, this is a delicate matter that requires a woman's touch. You can’t rush these things, i’ll find out the location. Besides, you know my lifelong goal in life, right?” She asked him.

“Yes, i’ve been with you since you were able to walk. Your greatest ambition in the world is to find that legendary treasure that will fulfill your goal of making an island in the sky. You’ve told me this many times before, why are you bringing it up again?”

“Because, I feel like he might have have what i’m looking for, or at least lead me to it.”

Once she finished her sentence, she turned around and left. The way Yan D. Yu dressed, his speech, was all different from anyone she has seen. She started thinking that he could have come from another Continent.

No matter if he did or didn’t, he gave her a strange feeling. She couldn’t put the feeling into words, but it made her feel that if she stayed in contact with him, he would show her things she couldn’t even imagine.

‘I must contact grandfather!’
