Strange enough when Yan D. Yu put the silver spatial ring on, he felt his energy being drawn to it. Concentrating on the spatial ring, he could see inside it. The old man really gave him something good.
The ring wasn’t empty, it was filled with different types of herbs, a dozen silver coins, pills, food and different types of robes. He didn’t need the robes because he doesn’t like how mostly everyone looks the same.
If someone looked different, they were probably bandits or mercenaries. Other than that, everyone else wore some kind of robe.
Yan D. Yu had two books in his hand. One was ‘Buddha's Resurrection’ while the other was ‘Foundations of Qi’. Now wasn’t the time for him to try to become a martial artist, so he placed both books into his spatial ring.
When he exited the entrance, there was a great amount of people coming into the town. Upon seeing Yan D. Yu exit, they gave him a few glances.
It wasn’t everyday you would see a half nude male walking around, a sight such as that would make anyone look twice.
Jumping off the ground, his arms turned into purple fiery wings as he flew away. Next destination, Shing City!
….
In an apple orchard, a young child was picking ripe apples and placing them in his small basket.
Looking left and right, he couldn’t find anyone. “Huh? Where is that whistling coming from?” He asked himself as he continued searching for something.
Soon, the noise died down and he stopped searching for the person making that noise. If they didn’t want to be found, he wouldn’t find them!
Humming a tune, he picked four more apples.
Satisfied with his work, he skipped out of the orchard happily.
His curiosity was piqued by that whistling sound, and he knew that whoever was making the noise was still around. Already deciding that once he gives this basket to his mom, he’ll come back here and search.
What he didn’t know was that a golden seed flew down from the sky causing the whistling noise he heard. Hitting the ground, it made itself a nice cozy home in the ground.
An hour later, the young boy came back again. Searching all over the orchard hoping to find someone.
A young woman had her arms crossed and a smile on her face as she watched her son play outside.
The young boy always worked hard everyday. She always wanted him to go outside and play, but he wanted to help out instead.
Not knowing what kind of game he was playing, she just continued to watch her son wander around the orchard.
In the ground, the golden seed started to spread its roots.
What would it grow, no one knew.
…..
Yan D. Yu could finally see the gate to enter Shing City. It took him six hours of flying and walking to finally reach here, but he finally made it.
As he descended and his wings disappeared, he started walking towards the entrance. Unlike the town he was in before where there were was only one guard, Shing City had multiple guards. They were dressed in silver armor from the neck down.
Shing City was the town he (Yan Yu) lived in, so it held a lot of memories in his heart. Some were good, some were bad.
“Halt, what business do you have in Shing City?” A guard stopped him.
“Visiting.” Yan D. Yu told him. It’s not like he was lying, he was visiting someone, his father.
The guard watched Yan D. Yu carefully, before backing off. “You cannot enter.”
“Why?”
Pointing at Yan D. Yu’s hat, and pants he told him, “Because you are not properly dressed. Come back once you wear decent clothes.”
“The fuck? Does it matter how… never mind, I don’t have time for this.” Yan D. Yu told him as he jumped into the arm turning his arms into wings. Flying high over the gate, he entered Shing City, ignoring the cries from below.
‘Why does everyone give damn about how another person looks! What type of shit is this? You know what, i’m going to start a new trend. I don’t want to see another damn person wearing those ugly robes again!’
Vowing to himself to change the way these people dressed, he already started thinking of a plan. He already had a rule for his crew, no one is allowed to wear robes! Period.
They dare to tell him he dresses weirdly? Fine, i’ll make a whole group of people dress weirdly! What are you going to do about it?
Far away from the entrance into the city, Yan D. Yu felt it was safe enough to land.
“Dad look, another Master Sage! You think he’s part of the clans here?” A youth asked her father who was by her side.
Her dad smiled, but didn’t say anything. He may not be at the level to were he can fly, but he is able to tell at a glance that Yan D. Yu is not a Master Sage. Heck, he wasn’t even a cultivator.
Yan D. Yu had to say, that Shing City was a nice place. He was just on one of the many roads, and yet there was already a lot that he could do here. A tavern, two restaurants, one inn. This was only on one street, not to mention the others.
Shing City had five noble clans here, and they were the ones who enforced the laws here. Usually a single city couldn’t hold multiple big clans, but it seems that each of these clans were on the same side.
As Yan D. Yu wandered around town, he finally made it to the center. The center of Shing City was where all the action happened. It held not only mansions for the five noble clans, but also different shops.
Merchant Guild, Auction House, Alchemy House, Mercenary center, Brothels, and a library. Not to mention the restaurants, and inns that were in the center.
Everything was in a circle formation, leaving a big gap for the center. People were sitting on benches, or trying to sell some goods while others passed by.
From Yan Yu’s memories he knew his way to the Le clan. His life wasn’t bad as a servant, but it was better than the others.
As he made his way to the Le clan, he was once again stopped by some guard, except this time he were wearing a red robe. “Who are you and what do you want with our Le clan?”
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“Tell Le Long his son is here to see him.” Yan D. Yu told the guard.
“Mister Le only has three sons, and we know them all personally. So, i’ll ask once again, who are you and what do you want with our Le clan?”
“I already told you!”
The guard waved his hand and a bright red long sword appeared. “Don’t tell me then, but you won’t be leaving here with your life!” Swinging his sword at Yan D. Yu, he was planning on killing him.
Yan D. Yu’s fist shot out and came into contact with the guards sword. He already coated his fist in Armament Haki, so when he hit the sword it broke into pieces.
“I’m not going to kill you, so once again go get my father!” This time Yan D. Yu wasn’t saying it nicely.
The guard’s hands were trembling as he took two steps backwards. Sweat was running down his face as he looked at Yan D. Yu.
He was scared, his opponent was not someone he could handle. With only a strike of his fist, his weapon broke into pieces. This was not an ordinary sword, it was a spirit grade sword! To break this with your bare hands, one had to be at the Sage realm or higher.
‘Le Long… doesn’t have another son… so who is he? No, maybe this is his adoptive son, he was in a cheerful mood last month…’ The guard thought. Slowly, he turned around and went into the mansion.
Yan D. Yu produced ‘Foundations of Qi’ book and started reading it while waiting.
‘To break out of the Mortal realm, one needs to have the willpower to overcome their limitations. Only then will one break out of the mortal realm and enter the Entry level for starting their path on marital Cultivation. Reforming the body from inside out, lifting a boulder, and forming their core. These are the advantages to breaking free from the Mortal realm.
One must become one with the earth, sensing even the slightest changes. Meditating, absorbing the Qi that’s in the air. As long as one has the smallest amount of talent, they’ll be able to absorb the Qi. Just because you can absorb it, doesn’t make you a martial artist. You must form your core from the Qi you’ve absorbed. The shape it takes reflects your path in the martial world.’
Reading past that passage, Yan D. Yu found some illustrations showing how one absorbs the Qi. He figured that later on, he would try it out, but for now he put the book away.
The guard came back with a middle aged man. The middle aged man was wearing a red robe with golden lining, long black hair, and hazel colored eyes. His skin was pale, but Yan D. Yu knew that this was definitely his father.
As Le Long looked at Yan D. Yu, he couldn’t figure out who this person was. Claiming to be his son, but he knows where all his sons were at. However, there was one who died.
“Long time no see, it’s been three years since i’ve last seen you huh?” Yan D. Yu broke the ice with him.
Le Long eyes grew wide as he finally realized who was in front of him. This kid grew up so much that he couldn’t even recognize him. “Yan Yu, I thought you were dead. What happened? Who did it?” He asked.
“Why don’t you ask your other sons? They were the ones who dumped me on that island and left me to die.”
Le Long spoke in an upset tone he didn’t enjoy the joke his son was saying.“Yan Yu, now isn’t the time for jokes. They would never do that.”
“Yeah right, that wife of yours was no good either. She’s probably the one who set it all up.”
His wife wouldn’t do such a thing, from all the time he has known her, she has always been a good person. Hearing his son talk about his wife like that, he spoke up to protect her. “Mu’er wouldn’t do such a thing, she loved you like you were one of her own. Even when your mother died, she said that she would raise you. How can you say such horrible things?” Even after what Yan D. Yu said, Le Long still didn’t speak to him in a rude tone.
“I could actually care less about what she said. Obviously she didn’t do a good job if I was gone for three years. I plan on being in town for a few days, once you question them come find me. I’m sure we’ll be able to talk this out.”
“Why don’t you stay here?” Le Long asked him.
Why would he want his son who has been ‘dead’ for three years to stay at some inn? It’s only natural that he has to stay home. If he stayed here, Le Long felt like he could caught up with him and see how he has been living all this time.
Inside his heart, he truly felt sad about this matter. Although Yan Yu was born from a servant, he was still his son. He should have treated him better, but there was too much going on with his life at the time.
Le Long was always going in and out of the clan to deal with business. He had to find sects that his children could attend, go to the five noble clan meetings, and cultivate himself. Still, that was not an excuse for the way Yan Yu was treated.
After Yan Yu’s mother died, Le Long decided that he shouldn’t continue being a servant. However after his mother’s death, Le Long was called back by his father to go to the head house of the Le clan. Upon returning, he was told that Yan Yu was missing. As his father, he put in effort to search for him, but he came to a dead end. Yan Yu was nowhere in Shing City. As time past and Yan Yu never showed up, he had a feeling that he was dead.
“To be honest, I don’t trust you either. However you’re still my father, so I came back. I’m not the same person anymore, that weak servant child is gone. I’m doing perfectly fine on my own. I won’t do something petty like kill the whole clan over your family drama, I just wanted to see what it would be like returning. Also, finding out who killed my mother.”
Yan D. Yu turned and left. Seeing his father, seeing the Le mansion gave him a bitter feeling. It’s not worth it to go back to a family that leaves you for dead. He just wants to have a peace of mind that way he can go on his journey without worrying about anything.
Watching Yan Yu walk away, Le Long opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. His son's return, the words he spoke, Le Long didn’t want to believe it. He loved his wife, there shouldn’t be a reason as to why she would want to get rid of Yan Yu. Le Long just watched Yan Yu’s back fade away as he walked into the crowd.
As he walked away, and deep in thought he felt something shove him to the side. Fleeing was a brown haired youth.
“Get back here! Genius doctor my ass! You poisoned my son making his condition even worse!” A twenty something year old man ran after the youth.
“Then you shouldn’t have scammed my aunt!” The youth yelled back.
