POV Huntress

We got some spies, that tried to join Devas supporters. Well, they joined outer circle, circle of people who came to learn from us and about our ideology. Our more advanced supporters could see, that some people, that joined had hidden agenda. With time spies were spied upon.

Maybe not all of them were spies. Some came and tried to disrupt our meetings almost openly. Others tried to put their noses inside our organization. They were real spies. They tried to break into closed rooms of our headquarters in War-Saw. They did pictures with their phones all the time. They asked strange questions about us. Luckily for us they started to appear only after we were ready for initiating second group into middle circle of awoken. We waited with initiation, till we would interrogate some spies.

I asked for help Asmo and Mercy. We caught some people, we suspected to be spies and interrogated them one after another. They didn’t see us during interrogation process. Asmo was using irresistible suggestion on them. To made them softer, we used some gas and told them, that it would affect them and made them more truthful. As using [Will resonance] was tiring, we helped Asmo and then even asked Mirror and Hail for help. Hail acted very loyal lately. He put much effort to be useful. I didn’t asked Sith because he was somewhere in Poland. Lynx was almost always at his farm. Coal seemed to have aversion against using our abilities against ordinary people. Lily had some bureaucratic things to do and En was still backed off. I didn’t trust others completely.

Interrogations showed us interesting things. Main group of spying people were spies paid by international company, that found out, that we were source of heart healing medicine. They were easiest to interrogate as threat of calling police was usually enough to get some info from them. Second group were militaries or special agents from services of Poland. In fact we found a way to make them talk. Threat of making public their face and DNA was enough for them, to ask for calling police and then, when we didn’t back off with threat they explained, who they were. They were afraid of public exposure, as they would lost their jobs. Third group was surprise. Some people, that saw our awoken in action with magic, didn’t believe we were good ones. Most people that were advertise by our awoken wanted to help us. Some, not many, were searching for signs, that we were evil.

I wasn’t good at strategizing and I knew it. I was good at managing already working organizations. I needed to put topic on big meeting. I didn’t want to ask for big meeting, because it would look as I couldn’t rule good enough. Luckily En asked for big meeting.

Part of us were in War-Saw headquarters during it. Others joined us online. En wanted all of the Devas present. He said during meeting, that he was able to find last major magic ability. It was last as bio-stones showed, that it was last major [Flow bending] they had access to. En seemed to consider each word he told us. He said, that bio-stones support for special magic abilities was like finger pointing at moon. He needed to explain it better. He said bluntly, that bio-stones were only set evolutionary on some from possible wider range of magic abilities. He wanted to explore, if humans could find magic, that wasn’t supported by bio-stones system. I couldn’t see purpose in wasting our time for something, that was of secondary importance. En agreed unexpectedly. He wanted to do it as side project. He even made quiz, that could show him which hosts had higher chance to develop magic abilities out of system. We did that test as it was short. I put quiz questions below.

1 – How comfortable you are with your favorite magic ability?

2 – Would you invest your time, if stats page couldn’t show your progress?

3 – How much time usually do you spend in contact with your bio-stone over necessary minimum?

4 – Can you deny bio-stone system perspective for theoretical purposes (how long) or is it nonsensical?

5 – Would you be able to not impose bio-stone system on normal human magic users?

6 – What is your favorite color?

Really, he asked that last question too. Most of us answered, that we didn’t have favorite color. After we gave our answers, it was public En explained, that he was searching for helpers, that wouldn’t even subconsciously affect normal human magic researchers. He said, that Coal, Mouse and Mercy were closest to his perfect helpers. He wanted to talk with them later. I would talk with him about Mercy as she was great help for me.

Still, I had my own topics I wanted to discuss. I provided info about spies. We all were on the same page with international company spies. We would thin our trade with that company, until their spies would disappear. It would hurt our profits, but we suspected, that company already had long list of waiting clients. We would increase price also. I didn’t know what to do with spies linked with government. Sith proposed, that after military would have second host, we should send them to Jack. Those people knew better than we, who was important in government and state services. We were weak and underinformed about politics and deep state. En wanted to try to recruit some from last category to his side project. I couldn’t understand it, but perhaps it was good move, as spies from third category would show all the time and somehow we needed to get rid of them.

Then, when we talked about preparation for group that would join awoken, En asked if we could teach them of all magics we knew. He argued, that humans were very slow in developing magic abilities. Sonic boom was impossible for normal humans to learn due to lack of strength and sensory radar would probably be very hard too. He made me mad a little, as he told Associated about hidden ability. I asked him, why was he pushing magic agenda. He said, that he saw crisis on horizon. He couldn’t tell us details as it could accelerate coming of crisis, but we needed to grow in power.

Sith told us, that he created berserk mixture. It burned some of [Muscle] and [Body integrity] stats created by strength and health improvement mixtures, but created huge short spike in physical power and endurance. It consisted from two parts. One part joined existing enhancements, second freed power after use.

Associated asked how fast, they could join us. We told them, that we would take them, except Adam, alias Rook, quite fast.

That concluded our meeting. I thought about En’s pressure to develop magic abilities. It seemed for me, that we would have crisis, when we would need to use them. Perhaps Diana would come back to bite us, but lot stronger. Or there was some weakness we had and he was afraid that info about it could leak. Either way, magic abilities were solution.

POV Smoke

I was fucking half god since I linked myself to bio-stone. I called my stone enchanted entity Ember. I talked to him for hours. He seemed to like me more, than his previous host. I had mixtures, that enhanced my health, strength. I was able to learn magic lot faster. I had stats page, that showed me my progress, what was mind blowing. When I talked with my friends, they felt my aura of power. Luckily those, that awaken to magic, were able to endure it.

I joined Unlimited Devas very fast. They gave me tasks and treated me well. We spent much time together in company, as our auras didn’t hurt us. I was weakest, when you looked at stats, but they didn’t bully me.

I knew, that there was some people that overused their status as host and created problems, but I was sure we could handle them. Magic was the key and I got some very good results with friction control. I imagined myself in coat of smoke, that lowered my friction. It worked perfectly for me. It even helped me disperse some kinetic energy during impact. I got some impacts, when I moved really fast and couldn’t control myself properly.

I really felt, as I was standing on top of the mountain. World was beneath me and I could grasp anything I wanted. Almost anything as other hosts had their own mountains and awoken to magic had their hills. I wanted to show off and I would have chance during another initiation for awoken.

I also had some dreams from life before Devas. I wondered if I could realize them.

POV Ghost

I was shot second time. It was good play till they hurt me. I did some diversion, killed mafia boss and burn his manor. I felt it was beneath me. I got some bodies in the freezer and I could think about future a little. I needed challenge. Good one. I watched house of paper and house of cards again. Maybe first seasons. I wanted something like that. I wanted complicated action, when I could outsmart my opponents. Not stupid little mafia boss, that could be killed with help of little diversion.

I felt that my ability alone was inadequate. I wanted to create magic as Devas did. I tried. I failed.

Then, Lily contacted me to pass me info, that putting bio-stone into freezer would lessen consumption.

I got my challenge then. I would steal magic from Devas. It was so brilliant idea.

POV Beria

Devas contacted me to tell, that freezer slowed growth and appetite of bio-stone. Then Huntress talked with me about my way of doing things. She knew more, than she should. It seemed as I was ratted. I asked her to stay at her own yard. She wasn’t happy at all.

Then Huntress, Sith, Hail and Asmo came. They waited at the fence. I came out to talk.

-= Whazza? – I asked. I had no respect for them.

-= Lets make it short. – Huntress said. Others looked like her lackeys. – Either you change your way or you will leave neighborhood of War-Saw.

-= I can’t change my ways. I wouldn’t be myself then. I can’t move either, as I have nowhere to go.

Sith shot me with lightning. I couldn’t react in time. He put hand over the fence and shot me. I needed moment to gather myself up. I could call for my companions, but we wouldn’t win. It was better to hide fact, that I had loyal people on my side. I stood up.

-= We can make a deal. – Huntress said.

-= What deal?

-= Half a million for two batches of poison from you. And you will leave this place in one week. And your comrades too.

-= Why should I agree to that?

Sith slowly put his hand over fence again. I was most likely out of his reach. I looked at Asmo and Hail. They did nothing. Sith created fireball over his hand and shot it in my direction. I was able to jump from line of movement, but it hit building. It started to eat on concrete.

-= We’re giving you some choices here. – Said Sith.

-= Really? I’m too stupid to see that.

Sith looked at Huntress. So she really was leader.

-= I don’t want to escalate. – She said. – But if you can’t decide on either of options we gave you, we will destroy that building right now.

-= You’re joking, right?

-= You have one minute.

She wasn’t joking. I could see, that she wanted me out. She came here to enforce that decision, not to negotiate with me.

-= Ok, I will leave. – I knew, I couldn’t win. – Just tell me, who rat me and let’s make a deal.

She didn’t smiled at her victory, which was bad sign.

-= You asked me hard question, - She said. – as there is more than one answer to it. Now. Let’s make a deal.

I had more than one rat. She wouldn’t help me to find them. I went for poison. It was easy to make transaction through internet, when I provided them with my bank account number. When they were leaving I asked her something, that was bothering me.

-= Why did you come? I didn’t attack or pressure you in any direct way.

-= But you would. – She said. – You said it yourself, that I should stay at my yard. War-Saw and around is my yard. I forgot about you, because you were silent. But it seems, that you were pest like, so get out of my yard.

She didn’t wait for my answer. I couldn’t find answer that would be more than a wind anyway. She and her lackeys left.

I got some money, but I needed to find another place. Those money were not enough for something really good. But we, I and my comrades, could capture some squat in another city and spare most money. Maybe Returned Glory city would be ok?
