POV Noel, guy rescued in crematory
I worked for Nameless. Of course I knew his real name and surname, as I was doing things in his name in crematory and other places. His alias Nameless or En was tied to that part of his life, which was really important. I knew, that he was helping to create some pseudo religious Devas movement. There were more people like him, in presence of which hair stood on end. They were collecting bodies for whatever reasons.
I should be terrified, but I wasn’t. My life, my old life ended and he took me for servitude, but not slavery, without asking any questions. We talked a lot, as he was only person I talked with seriously after I started my second life. He told me, that he started to like me, when I laughed in absurd situation I found myself in. I didn’t told him about my life before crematory.
Leon was dead as his life was. Noel was starting to learn, how to live from beginnings. Financially I stood on my own legs already. I wanted to get back to more normal living. Certificate of my death wasn’t helping me with going in that direction. I needed forged identity papers.
I talked with En about it. He didn’t seem to have problem with that. He didn’t threaten me or asked me for secrecy. He said, that he would gladly stay friends with me, as I was one of not many people that could stand his aura for longer. I couldn’t tell heads or tails about absurdity of that request.
Still, I couldn’t do that small step of getting independence, as I was afraid, that my family could met me by chance. I wasn’t ready to confront them. I thought, that maybe I should ran on the end of the world and start there life anew. In the end I was emotionally defenseless and I couldn’t make myself to do something with elephant in the room.
POV Lily
We had crisis. Coal told us, that he found Vivaldi and Kirk and that he help some retired policeman, that was targeted by Vivaldi. He just didn’t tell us, that policeman was some kind of big fish or connected to big fishes. It seemed that Vivaldi and Kirk were under police and border guard surveillance, and those forces found out, that they were not exactly average human beings. Guy was in War-Saw and wanted to talk.
I felt strong urge to kill him, kill that retired policeman, as he was too close to our secrets. We had inner discussion among Unlimited Devas and almost all of us felt the same. En said, that if we went according to that instinct, we would lost in confrontation against humanity. I didn’t understand him, but I knew, that he was enough of weirdo even before he got bio-stone, that he could see some things we didn’t. He was pessimist, believer in all dark conspiration theories, so he was best, when we all had demonic entities enchanted in stone, that gave us shards of power. I trusted him, his opinions in that kind of matters more than to myself.
He proposed to send balanced delegation to talk with retired policeman. Me, as I was one of those, that were biased toward killing policeman. Coal, as he looked neutral, was one of us, but didn’t haste to kill people. And Noel, as he was ordinary human, friend of En and wanted to get new id.
That way I got to know Noel.
POV retired policeman
We met at neutral ground. I was alone, there were three of them. They introduced themselves. I met Coal before. Girl, Lily, looked unhappy, that she was here. Noel seemed off, different than them. He even took his distance from them. It was unconscious, but that meant, that there was some social distance between them.
-= I’m Jack. – I said. – Nice to meet you. I’m sure you didn’t tell me your real names.
-= Sure Jack, some of us don’t have real name anymore. – Shot Noel with sarcastic note, as if in how dare you meme. Lily laughed then took serious face in a second. Coal looked astonished at Noel. Whatever was happening, they didn’t plan it together. – Sorry. – Corrected himself Noel.
-= I wanted to talk with you about two suspects, we are observing. You, - I pointed Coal. – warned me against them. It seems, that you knew about their unusual traits.
I started my story. I told them about friendly big fish in police forces, whose pride was hurt so much, that he asked border guard for help. About observation, strange activities of suspects and our conclusions. Noel interjected with wow or border guards can do that or what a clever way. It was nice at beginning, but annoying after. At the end of my story I countered him, as he seemed to know nothing about suspects.

-= Why are you here, if you know nothing about them? – I asked him particularly.
-= En said, that if I could help them, then most likely you could help me and forge me new id. – Noel said.
There was some misunderstanding here.
-= New id? – I half asked politely.
-= Yes. As I am dead, it’s quite hard to do it.
-= So you’re dead. – I had some patience left.
-= Yes. Here’s my certificate. – He gave me death certificate of Leon Someone. - It’s mine. – He added.
-= That’s all? – That all farse was beyond me.
-= No. My task is to hold them back, before they would kill you. – I got chill on my back. I felt that he said truth.
Coal made motion with his hands, that universally meant, I have no weapons.
-= I wouldn’t kill you. – He said.
-= I would. – Girl said.
That was unexpected. Worse, I felt they were telling truth. I didn’t have any surveillance on myself at that moment, as I was sure, that if Coal wanted me dead, he could kill me at the pond. I was getting old to make that kind of mistake.
-= And how would you stop them from killing me? – I asked Noel. Perhaps he was most important from three of them or perhaps it was play to get new id from me.
-= I would say something like, we all need love, too much violence won’t make us closer to that need.
Girl laughed again. She didn’t stop for long moment.
-= I knew, it would work. – Said Noel with confident face to me. Girl started to laugh again. I didn’t laugh. Coal didn’t laugh too. We waited till they calmed down.
-= What do you want to know? – Asked Coal.
-= You hinted me last time, that there will be problems, that I would die, if I tried to catch them as normally police do.
-= Yes. You either kill them on the spot or leave them. Otherwise they would take their revenge and many would die.
-= They have superstrength, at least one you call Vivaldi.
-= You saw what they done with your car.
-= But why are they such dangerous?
There was silence. Somehow Coal couldn’t answer.
-= Ech, - Sighed Noel. – They can’t tell you their secrets.
-= You know about their secrets?
-= You’re asking dead man, you know?
There were silence again. Some kind of deadlock. Did I waste time coming here? I was ready to go.
-= There is third option, third solution. – Said Noel.
-= Oh? – Coal was interested. I respected Coal.
-= Could you tell me, what is it?
-= Could you at least promise me, that you ask that big police fish, if he can forge me new id?
-= That, I can do.
-= Ok, good for starters. Those suspects, idiots police is watching, need human bodies. They’re idiots, they don’t need to go and kill to have bodies. One body in seven to ten days…
-= Less if cursed stone would be in freezer. – Interrupted Coal.
-= So one body in?
-= Fourteen days. – Said Coal.
-= You could make deal with them. – Noel continued. – Provide them with bodies and freezer and threaten with prison.
-= No police would go for that deal. – I said honestly.
-= So maybe not police, maybe border guards would make that deal.
-= There is no difference between police and army.
-= Oh, there is, because there is pot of honey at the end of this rainbow.
-= We need to consult. – Interrupted Lily.
-= No. En send him, because he could tell more than we. Let him finish.
-= Ok. Continue.
-= As I said, there is honey pot. They can create mixtures. Mixtures that made them superhuman.
They were looking at me, waiting if I would laugh in their faces. I was sure, they believed in Noel words. But was that true. I would have to check it.
-= How do you know so much about their secrets? – I asked Noel.
-= You’re former detective, you should know already.
-= You were one of the bodies, just took by mistake as dead one. – I said.
He had tears in eyes, but they didn’t fall down. Just watery eyes. I shot close to sore place, but not into the center of it.
-= Something like that. – Noel said.
I told them, with many ifs and maybes, that I would try to go with that idea. I couldn’t guarantee anything though.
When I was leaving, I heard as Lily told Noel, that he was due date with her. He was surprised, but she laughed at his face and that was enough.
Yet, Coal came to me and said, that he wished me luck.
Whatever was happening, I was too old for it. My hunch didn’t tell me, that she could kill me, till she said it herself. I was wet from cold sweat. And I wasn’t person, that could be spooked easily.
POV awaken to magic, Devas supporter
I saw as car hit cyclist. War-Saw is capital with many roads for cyclists, also it is easy to go to Viswa slope or to Mazov forest, where are plenty of routes for mountain bikes. Number of cyclists in War-Saw to the population is real high. So accidents with cyclists were bound to happen. I saw that knee was hurt really badly. I used shortly freezing on it. I couldn’t do more without showing, what I was capable.
Still, someone noticed, that I did something astonishing. Cyclist thanked me and said, that I was beautiful girl. He was in shock probably. Someone recorded my freezing by phone. I ran from there.
When I told at Devas Center, what has happened, nobody became angry on me. Even Sith, who looked as strict teacher, didn’t act as if I was careless. Better to help and regret, he said, than to not help and regret, he said. I changed my hair color, because I didn’t want to be recognized.
