The year 2099
The earth was now a giant desert.
Only a few lives were left.
…
Earth was coming to an end. Lands sunk and water conquered the world. Also, the remaining piece of land was nothing but an unlivable area to the human race. They couldn't plant crops or grow livestock.
People were at wit's ends. All they could eat was the creatures polluted with radiation. In time, their numbers dwindled at an alarming rate.
It was all due to the four Crime Lords.
The Beast whose hunger couldn’t be satiated. He feasted on all the trashes in the world. West Area – Crime Lord Tocho.
The Monk advocated faith. He purified everything for salvation. North Area – Crime Lord Michael Angelo.
The Devil laughed at God’s failure. He bit his tail because of boredom. East Area – Crime Lord Ramirez.
The Monster who scorched the earth. She was responsible for the earth’s doom. South Area – Crime Lord Monet.

Now, the remaining people trudged on the desert road, not for survival but to take the heads of these abominable!
Because if they don’t… earth will surely come to end. The human's humanity would surely come to an end...
…
Adrian looked at the bullets he has. It wasn’t enough to survive in this desert. Years after the earth became a desert, people rarely complained about the sticky sweat anymore.
Not the food either. Everything was polluted and toxic, and their stomach wouldn't complain anyway. Instead, the creatures inhabiting the earth now became the greatest worry of them all.
The sand parted and something rose up. It was a giant scorpion. Its pincers lorded overhead the man’s body. And its tail waved with a speed of sound!
In the past, a creature this big and horrifying would create widespread panic. Judging from its metallic scale, a punch wouldn’t even dent it. Worst, one stomp from it could smash a car into a pulp. It made sense that anyone would piss their pants.
But now, anyone could end them with nothing but a gun or sword.
Earth’s energy. All because of this stream, invisible to the naked eye, that made it possible.
Bang. Pshk.
The gigantic creature shuddered. Its black crystallin eyes lost their luster and rolled to the back.
The lone man put on a wry smile though. “One bullet is gone. It took me five days' worth of Earth’s energy just to create one bullet.”
“And now it’s gone to one paltry scorpion.” The already dead scorpion twitched from frustration. It was the frustration of the weak. They couldn't complain.
Soon, its corpse got feasted on by other animals.
Adrian didn’t want to become the next meal. Regardless of how powerful the earth’s energy was, a man was only made of flesh and bones.
Thus, he always went a mile in maintaining his peak potential.
But what appeared before him made him numbed from utter hopelessness.
“Just how many years before I can get to one Crime Lord?” He closed his eyes before turning to the lumbering creatures before him.
