Chapter 12 – Tocho

Chapter 12 – Tocho

“Why are you rich?!” The young man growled and slapped the mirror in front of him. It cracked a little but he quickly stabilized the mirror. He didn’t want to worry his aging mother and father if they heard a noise.

Sigh. The young man became dejected but still tried hard to fix himself.

Just like any weekday, going to school was an important regular part of any student’s life.

But to Tocho, the school wasn’t fun or educational. The school was a source of misery.

Every day, he was beaten to a pulp if he didn’t give his wallet. And even if he did, sarcastic remarks shot on his back.

Wimp, weak, nobody, useless… he wasn’t supposed to be like that. He was rich. But because of his wealth, he became the target of the bullies.

“I cannot fight. And I cannot tell them. My parents will not be able to stand a blow if they knew.” He reminded himself.

Gritting his teeth, “And my relatives will surely use that moment to stand behind me. But I know what they are thinking.”

“I can only endure. I had to endure! I had to!”

Four years of high school. Four years of enduring the constant bullying.

“Finally! College!”

But what met him was the same.

“Incompetent, ignorant, shameful.” He always heard these words from the people who thought he used his background to enter the university.

The drive to enter a good university came from the bullying he’d suffered. But when he found out that this would only repeat, he couldn’t study anymore. Thus, it gave off that he used under-the-table means to enter the university.

“What a load of crap…” He mumbled while feeling the air on the rooftop. His feet stepped on the gutter.

“The world will be the same even if I wasn’t here.”

Woosh.

His weak call for help didn’t garner any attention. He suffered inside the hospital, alone.

“Don’t tell mom and dad…”

“Yes.”

His eyes dimmed seeing his driver exiting the room. Yes, he didn’t want them to know but he also wanted someone to accompany him.

But because of his status, he couldn’t have any normal relationships with other people.
