THIRD PERSON POV

Skyhorn was just as shocked as Aeris on seeing what he could do. His class and racial skill were already set and understood the Argo had taken to the skies with Seraphina and half of the Arg'gar'sil.

The Arg'marn with them were fierce Yotk users who didn't dally in rallying to battle the red creatures. Of course unlike the Arg'baln who utilized arrows the Arg'mar dove down into battle straight with their Yotk ready to cut and slash.

If not for the Arg'pheyso telling him and guiding him Skyhorn doubted he would know how to wield the very might of the wind.

There was a tree canopy worth of information on his screen to offload. First was the fact that the quest came immediately after getting his class.

Why Aeris said nothing about this didn't go through his head as he simply reasoned there was a lot on their minds. Next was the fact that he could get quests and gain experience points from them. His quest for one showed him the explanation according to what he knew and offered him a sizeable amount of quest.

But that wasn't all. His eyes twitched as he looked at his level and experience.

'Killing gets us experience'. The ramifications of this made him shiver. Still, his mind went to a different matter at the same time.

Zephyr Mastery. It was something that blew his mind away but it was more due to how he was able to utilize his wind for stunts like the one Seraphina was performing. With his Tempest blessing, she was wading knee-deep into red one bodies.

She was no slouch with the Yotk.

A cry came from behind and he spun with a sharp twist of his left foot. An Arg'mar was half flying half jumping. Several red ones climbed and stabbed him relentlessly. Skyhorn dashed forward at a swift pace. Argannen flapped ferociously as it took him ahead.

Casting Galeguard did more than just buy him time it also protected those around him from any attacks he didn't see. Getting close to the Arg'mar under attack he leaped tackling the Argo to the ground and making him roll.

'Fortunately, Argannen knows to fuel up'. He thought as both stopped. Skyhorn was on his feet Yotk swinging out in a mad circle to eviscerate any red ones around him.

Looking around he could see why the Arg'pheyso help was necessary. What they'd been unsure of. A fight against the number of goblins present was going well.

Still, the mission was not over. A glance at Seraphina showed a new problem. Getting her out of there could be an issue. Looked to the Arg'mar slaughtering the hordes of Red ones with the aid of his Tempest blessing.

'Does it even have some limit?'. He wondered. A look at his template showed that while nothing had a limit he seemed to be using up the Akasha points for it.

Frowning he decided it was best to cut it off. Looking around first and seeing only a few goblins around with Seraphina in the hot spot he frowned. Argannen flapped with power as he took to the skies. Tearing over the canopies he dropped back in through a space between two branches.

Spinning around as best as she could to get past the trees in his way he grabbed Seraphina's shoulder and flapped taking them both out of there. Just as he cleared the forest he let her go and dropped too.

Cancelling his Tempest blessing he exhaled.

"What was that Argo?. I could have killed you the moment you touched me!!". Up in his face, the Arg'rarn looked annoyed. Skyhorn confused furrowed his brows.

"It was that or leave you to die when the Tempest blessing cut off. My Akasha seems to be fueling it and I think I still need it for later". Staring back at her without moving he waited. The Argn physically bristled with annoyance at his refusal to stand down.

Her Argannen rose and her feathers puffed. Skyhorm didn't react as he kept watching. Mentally he was irritated as he wondered why she was pissed at him keeping her alive. His shouting would have alerted the Red ones to his presence.

What did she expect him to do?

"Arg'elo. We must go. We've done our tasks of pushing back the raiding band". An Arg'mar stood to her side and spoke. Her eyes spun and like two hot beams landed on him. The Argo did not even flinch simply staring her down.

"Quit your antics and lead the way. Take out your frustrations on the Arg'adef not on the kid who saved your feathered ass". This time all the attention turned to him and this time Skyhorn literally had it with her.

While the two were Arg'mar or Arg'rar he was not. He was a simple patrol unit. Which meant any authority she had or tried to use over him went over his head as he had no inkling. Fortunately, Gustblade wasn't here.

"When you're done posturing I'll be at the Mistvale Hamlet.

Turning he walked off annoyed. Whatever happened behind him he didn't know or care as he turned and flew off to the Hamlet.

His flight was short as he soon arrived at the Mistvake Hamlet gate. No one stopped him or hailed him. No one was there or in sight. Frowning he flew up and over it. The Hamlet was empty. Not a soul in sight.

"Where's everyone?". Quickly he flew all over the village, checking homes and trees. There was no one. No sign of fighting, blood, or anything. 'It's like they just upped and left'.

Flying back to the gate he found the Arg'marn there all looking around in perplexity.

"No one?". One asked. He nodded. The Argo frowned and then looked to Seraphina. The Argn had either calmed or just buried whatever was her issue deep in her as she spoke.

"Mistvale and Oakheart are known to be more friendly and closer to the other. If Mistvale fled they'd have gone straight for Oakheart. Let's head there". Her eyes turned to Skyhorn.

He narrowed his eyes as he watched her. "Sky Horn, you've shown to be the fastest of us all, plus naturally you were a patrol unit. Fly ahead and scout the area. If you see any danger fly back. If not go ahead till you get to Oakheart".

"And if I can't fly away?".

"Use Skyshriek. Not hearing and not seeing you means you're flying ahead ". He nodded then turned flying ahead.

SKYHORN POV

"Well, it seems Seraphina was right". I muttered as I found signs of activity ahead. As patrol one of the things we knew was how to track movement in the forest. And we could see the signs of it.

Flying out of the forest I froze in horror. A macabre scene haunted my sight. "No, impossible. How?". Before me sprawled across the stones and ground were corpses. Argonnes, Argalorn, Argeon, and Aegon with dead goblins.

I shot downwards. Landing amid the carnage and rushing around. Looking through the bodies I found none alive. Most were brutally stabbed and others were torn in parts. The Red ones were ferocious.

"No, no". Following the trail of carnage, I could see it went ahead to the Oakheart Valley. My Argannen spread, and my heart turned hot and cold with rage and pain. The three villages were like best friends. Brothers and sisters to each other. While Mist Vale and Oak heart acted like little brothers it was us, the Whisperwind Haven that usually acted to secure their safety. While it was not something I should feel, a death any death of one of us brought such a huge amount of pain.

The Aegon would feel this deeper than me. I looked up to the sky and uttered the loudest Skyshriek I ever made. Unconsciously I channeled my Zephyr Mastery into creating a call of Alina ndrage so profound that it shook the very isle we were on.

To others I may have been calling for help, uttering a cry of rage, or simply just expressing my pain. It didn't matter.
