THIRD PERSON POV
Hildelith felt pain. It was a very brave move on the dev's part to add such a receptor to the game. While there must have been a setting for it she had the feeling that there might be none. After all the devs weren't doing things normally. Fortunately, the pain wasn't enough to make her focus slip. Of course, the fact didn't stop her from cursing at the devs for such a realistic pain sensation.
The unknown was trying to take her head off. Its teeth kept sinking ever increasingly into her neck. The other one kept tugging at her leg trying to rip the limb away.
'Goddamned mutts'. If this weren't a game Hildelith would have been terrified out of her mind. Atleast that was her assumption. The Crown of the Supreme at this point was a long-forgotten accessory.
Her right hand firmly hooked into the Unknown's jaw was the only thing keeping her head from flying off.
'What to do, what to do?' Her mind screamed at her to act yet she was lost as to what she was supposed to do now.
Games had skills right, and spells.
'Spells! ' Her mind filled with the intent to perform something. Magic existed in this universe. She knew she had set it in her system. Besides, that was her will, her focus. She could use it to express her intent.
Her eyes gazed on the Unknown tugging her legs. Willing it to burn. Unfortunately, nothing happened. Well if the system alerting her of both spells being locked and her Abstract being negated by the cold miasma of divine embers counted, then yes something did happen.
Hildelith cursed mentally at this new information that the system had not cared to share. Yet she could only grumble as the tooth of the unknown sank in deeper. Seeing no other way she finally began to despair.
Crown of the Supreme went to work.
Mind clearing Hildelith began accessing her options and even her inventory. At this point, another Unknown had joined the party aiming to seize her other leg.
She could hear more coming as well as note a flashing red light in the corner of her vision. Her health bar was dropping badly and she knew it was only her large health that was keeping her alive and if she let the attacks go on or the others join she would not last forever.
That's when she remembered a very peculiar skill she had If her hands were free Hildelith would have facepalmed from even forgetting it. With a mere flicker of Abstract, she activated her first use of her racial skills.
[Non-existent]
Her very self distorted and glitched out of existence. The two creatures finding nothing in their maws raised their heads in confusion. She grinned as the macabre tooth of the Void Wolf appeared in her left hand gripped tightly as she raised it.
Hilde had thought of using Xena's Chakram but as cool as the thing looked She had no idea how it worked. Plus it had no point and she felt she needed something stabby.
"My turn".
The white fang of the void chaos dagger descended, its destination almost there she willed her non-existence to fade its curved blade digging like a hot knife through butter into the skull of the Unknown biting her left leg. Its growls were instantly silenced as a flash of information appeared in her head.
[Unknown slain ]
[+20 Exp]
Leg free Hildelith pulled out the dagger, a bit of sludge and some brain bits stuck on the blade. Spinning the dagger she let its blade face up as she rammed it into one of the eyes of her neck hogger. Its shriek from the pain was her moment as the Unknown found itself dragged in the air and used to slap balance out of the last unknown still biting her right leg.
Dagger still in hand she moved the still confused Unknown that barely realized death was near until one of its six eyes was sprouting a blade.
[Unknown slain]
[+19 Exp]
"Not all give the same Exp eh" " She nodded before turning to the injured neck hogger that picked itself up with a low screeching. Before she could finish it off another Unknown rammed her from behind.
Airborne once more Hildelith watched as another Unknown soared for her from the front. 'The same tactic'.
Her perception at 10 was good enough to note all these. The earlier attacks only worked due to surprise. Now she knew a smile which would have been sadistic to most was etched out on her cute face.
The Unknown felt something was wrong even before it met its foe. Yet eternal darkness greeted it as a cold knife split into its skull. The fang of a level 5 Void Wolf was no joke.
Hildelith had been on its receiving end once so she knew.
Crashing heel first to the rocky terrain Hildelith spun and lunged into a roll that brought her straight to the Sword of Murre. Swapping the fang to her left hand she picked up the Sword. Its incandescent glow brimming brighter almost like a joyous response to her touch.

Raising the sword to eye level with the blade aimed forward while squatting low and aiming the dagger so its pointy end went to her left while her thumb pressed on its bottom she yelled out in a fierce girlish but dominating voice.
"Come you Vermin. I'm a Creator, I can't be killed. " If Hildelith knew how many views she had at the moment or remembered activating the stream then embarrassment would not have let her make such a statement.
Alas, she was pissed and simultaneously enjoying the fight.
Yes. Hildelith after this one exchange felt strong. Something she always desired. Bravery was one thing and strength was another.
Now she felt a strength in her as she watched and listened to the Unknown bounding for her. With a severely bleeding neck and legs, she gritted her teeth bracing for the impact.
"I call myself Hildelith for a reason" Her voice, a whisper was lost to the wind as the blue incandescent blade moved powered by more than a hundred and fifty points of strength decapitating the Unknown. And hell descended.
'Remind me next time I see an S ranking to go the other way" she whispered to herself regretting her choice while grimacing at the wounds on her body.
It hurt yet she could feel it slowly closing on its own. Passive regen was a thing it seemed.
Her worries were disrupted by the mass of Unknown that descended on her.
Hildelith in turn plunged into the madness as her hands slashed and stabbed in all directions. She tried using Non-existent to get away from the worst attacks while keeping her feet on the move. Still, the wounds grew and blood flowed. Pain pierced her brain and slowly she felt disoriented and overwhelmed.
" Enough !". With an immense desire for all of the Unknown to just get back, she screamed. A wave of darkness and black mist surged from her as the epicenter and threw all the Unknown back and away a good eight feet.
[General Skill -Nothinness Wave Emission - gained]
Send out a wave of nothingness that repels everything 10 feet around you while causing stun and mild injuries]
I paused to look at the skill I had just unintentionally used. Looking around I realized that the wave didn't just send them back. It had heavily injured them too. If it had been more or my focus more potent I could have ended them with a mere thought.
The creatures rose with staggers and Hildelith dashed forward hoping to end them before they found their footing. Her blades sang a tale of death and carnage. Her focus slowly got used to flipping into Non-existent and out. Her leg kicked, her sword descending making heads fly, her dagger drilled into their skulls, and bodies minced or perforated. Yet as fast and as good as Non-existent was it didn't help her from the few seconds attacks when she was in her physicality.
She rolled and slid, evaded, and hid behind Unknowns. Controlled the crowd of unknowns to strike at the other not because she thought it would help, but to buy more time between each attack of her sword each time she popped out of non-existent. It lastly allowed her to strike a lethal blow to the creature she used as a shield.
Finally, she dropped to one knee ichor flowing from her neck and body like streams of water. The last of the Mob dead, its head at her feet as six pale green eyes stared back at her with incomprehensible desire for carnage. Its eyes oozed the last of an ethereal miasma, the cold ember of divinity.
Pulling up her panel mentally she grimaced at how bad her health looked. Though she got a bit of glee from seeing her level having ascended to the next number.

Looking at it all she couldn't help but grimace. While the new skills were welcome Hildelith didn't think gods let alone Creator gods should lack divine abilities. While the Will was useless here there should have been atleast a repertoire of spells for substitution but there seemed to be none. It was bothersome to the Creator player.
She grumbled for a few moments as usual while pondering if the players had to learn magic themselves. Deciding how troublesome it would be she stamped a foot.
She rose shakily wiping the blood on her sword off the skin of an Unknown. Looking around Hildelith's blue eyes narrowed as she realized that she didn't have a known direction to head to and the system hadn't alerted her of the quest completion.
"Meaning it's far from over". Walking to a rock that lay glad embedded into the ground she slumped onto it.
That was when Hildelith noticed it. A bird flying overhead with basically no features just looking plain. Yet it was its red blinking eye that had her focusing on it.
"The streaming camera" she muttered then looked down.
Her eyes widened, head shot up as she looked back at the bird. 'A streaming camera. The hell..., when .. oh. then. ' Her thoughts jumbled as she remembered the cheesy lines she said back during the fight.
'Swallow me now'. she told the ground. Surprisingly the floor began cracking below her as a jagged maw opened to receive her
"I wasn't being literal, you crazy earth," she shouted whilst leaping away.
[Subatomic Manipulation- 1%]
A pause as she landed when she figured out her Abstract worked made her smile, the camera forgotten. She wondered how it worked. Thinking back she remembered the set of abilities and skills she had that she could use.
"That's why spells didn't work. They're locked". Annoyed at her forgetfulness she sighed. "The other things there are mostly this balance ability, Subatomic Manipulation-which did that..." She looked to the still ripped open earth. "...my universal force manipulation, absolute cosmic manipulation, and then my perk".
She rubbed her chin as she thought. 'If personal perks are meant to be the easiest to learn doesn't that mean...' she stopped thinking and shut her eyes. Hildelith didn't know how this was done but something told her she had to feel for something. She came up short.
"What am I doing wrong?". She brought up the description of her perk and frowned. "Myself!". It seemed to be almost clear only that Hildelith didn't understand how she was supposed to control herself.
"But that would mean...oh". Her mind went to the other skill she had. Or more like a thing she could do. Inhaling she shut her eyes and willed herself to become Nothing.
[Form of Nothingness - Activated]
Hildelith learned firstly that she had no eyes in this mode. Just pure existence and self. She could see in all directions and even downwards. Her movement was based on willing herself in a direction and even more she felt like this was the perk she wished to use. So she willed a part of herself to shift and separate from her form.
[Skill - Primordial Nothingness Generation - gained]
Pleased, she held control of the part of herself which was separate, something she found easy. Too easy.
[Godform - Activated]
Regaining physicality she looked herself over. Her wounds were gone. Already healed up and left only slight marks of blood to show where she had once been injured. It felt wrong yet still acceptable.
'I get it. ' Hildelith mused. 'Using such a way would have been broken especially since abstract unlike mana in most games doesn't have a meter. Players could simply keep shifting back and forth while chipping the enemy's health away and healing. I guess it's fortunate for the devs not all players will have chosen nothingness'.
'I could also use will to heal right?'. Curious she took the Void chaos dagger and slit her palm with her frown. Focusing on the wound she willed it shut. The two skin walls on opposite sides of the slit were forced together by her intent and abstract. It formed a haze above it seemingly sealing the wound.
'Well, shit'.
Negating the abstract when facing the unknown surely makes it impossible to heal. The Devs knew. Meaning even if my spell Casting was unlocked I might not have been able to use it here. Maybe when I was more potent.
At the moment Hilde didn't realize she was right and wrong.
Still, the realization brought the question of how the hell were players supposed to just fight with a blade and fists against such monsters. Well except for those who'd already figured out their abilities and skills.
'At least I have you' She looked at the blob of herself still floating in place. "Now, what to use for?".
Sighing the girl just looked around at the strewn corpses before remembering.
"Loot time".
