TORA'S POV
Water was definitely my favorite elemental magic. The diverseness of its use. The power at the tips of one's fingers when threading a Masterful stroke. It was so beautiful. Learning and understanding the ways of water was a whole different thing though.
It had not been easy teaching most of the Aurora Qitsarlmer how to wield their Abstract and tap into Akasha. It made sense considering even my siblings had barely scratched the surface of understanding the magic that was Akasha.
Mum was awesome.
The intricacies of Akasha made it so many who utilized her were confused. But the thing is Akasha was more than what they expected. It was one thing to have access to the Akashic Records and another thing to manipulate Akasha.
In one Akasha simply aided and automatically created skills when you used them. On the other, you could manipulate Akashic energy itself to act and shape your magic yourself.
You could not do both if you were not in the know. After merely a day here I was proud to say that I had successfully taught all these mortals the intricacies of Akasha.
I chuckled at the memory of my arrival.
It was a given the moment I saw the description for the Qitsarlmer race that I wanted to be them. But it was nothing like I expected. The beauty of the seas. The underwater flora and fauna were more than could be said of those in the golden realm that Ozai kept returning to. There were barely any.
I had been exploring, studying, and cataloging all the organisms I found. That's what Akasha called them. Said more would come. I was busy at this when I ran into this Island. Guess it wasn't far off. The moment I saw them I felt this yearning. It was like nothing I knew before. I just wanted to sit them down and fill their heads with everything I knew.
I never felt this way for my siblings. If anything I saw them as disturbances to my endless education.
And that was how I approached and dazzled them with magic. Figured it wasn't hard for them to see me as this higher being who could do the impossible.
Oh right. I was that higher being. Still, I didn't like the way they saw magic. It wasn't hindered to one and from all I had seen and studied of Mom's works it was obvious that everything she made was for more than herself and us.
It was for all life. So I began teaching them. But I realized it was hard for them to recollect such immense knowledge. I had to resort to writing and drawing images on tablets.
What magic I had figured out and created was a puzzle of difference. For elemental magic, it was all about imagination, the focus of will and flow. The elements were all around us so it wasn't hard to get it to work for us. For life magic, it was all about desire. That complex and intentful will to grant one life, then willing it to be while controlling the flow of life energy. Unfortunately, only someone with a higher will could grant life to things not meant to be alive. Life magic or energy was something that even I barely understood. Luckily the part I had learned was enough to grant some things life.
Life energy came from Sol. But since my elemental creatures didn't have anything to protect they didn't need one. Freyja wouldn't have minded giving me a few souls though. The life energy that flowed through the elementals held them together like glue.
Just that Sol was the source of life. Which meant that life energy came from it.
It was wholly different from curse magic and other magic that affected another individual directly. See, when I first used curse magic on my brother I realized how easy it would be to inflict harm on another figure. So I decided to check it a bit. Giving it limitations and rules. Like needing something to cast an affliction on an entity.
Of course, I realized that maybe a situation would need afflictions and not grant one the chance to have something. So I created a lower-tier curse magic that affected others. This made curse magic more lethal but harder to use. While making this affliction magic easier but weaker in effect. It went from willing, imagining, and saying certain words just like in curse magic to get a proper effect. And yet the effects would be barely there.
Some magic was imagination ànd will based only on magic. Like grasping and seeing how things would move Using one's body to direct and control and mind to foresee and know where and what exactly it would do Almost like elemental magic in that you needed not just an of will but a visualization of what you wanted.
It didn't take long for the Qitsalrmers to begin to pick up on magic. The only problem was they were very much better at Elemental Water magic than any other magic. While they could control water thanks to Akasha once they were able to access the records it paled with what they could do with magic. Of course, there was other magic they learned like Earth magic, air magic came hard to them since they hardly left wind or even knew what to imagine. It took showing and having them feel it before they could attempt it. Fire magic was impossible.
I had created various spells. Many tablets of them littered around me as I floated in the Azure Bay Fern forest.
It has been almost a day down here. So focused on leaving and inscribing as much information as I could that I barely did anything else. I had just completed all the inscriptions on the symbols, runes, and signs for a curse ritual. That was when I felt it.
New magical energy. Elemental. Water magic, no, is a subset of it. Something more. I could sense wind in it. No, it was more than wind. My Emunae(tail) swayed powerfully as I shot up heading straight for the surface. My arms raised above me to reduce water friction. I left a trail of white bubbles and foam. A Qitsarlmer was almost one if not the fastest entity in the sea.
As an incarnate, I could do better. Water magic working to push me up. Forming a mini upside-down vortex that shot me up and out of the Glimmering Abyss. Up through the water surface, I splashed out shooting through the air like an arrow and back into the water. My scales glittered and reflected the starry night sky. The night sky itself gleamed and glowed as well. It wasn't something new to me, I had seen enough of the tapestry to know how bountiful the stars of the mortal realms were.
Something was different now. Water swayed and splashed onto me hiding my head ànd then settling back down below.
"Something is different".
At that moment the sky changed. If before it was simply a collection of stars and twinkles that made up the black canvas of the sky, something new suddenly appeared.
I could feel the sea growing more agitated, more forceful, and active. Then unexpectedly the waters bobbed. Something I'd not seen in the one day I was here. The water rose and then splashed more heavily on me dragging me downwards.
'What is this?'.
Hanging past the scant clouds, almost unseen yet still visible was a ball of black. Hidden by suddenly evident clouds that were once unseen in the night sky but now visible and illuminated with a subtle deep purplish, blue and silver light. Light that cast down from the night sky and down upon the waters around me. I could see the subtle emissions of energy from it.
Her palm pushed out of the sea and raised to the sky. Her damp black and silver hair stuck to her face and back. Her blue scales glinting from the subtle light of this new celestial body.
"Terrum". Her lips barely moved and her right hand splashed out in a subtle jerk of motion. From around the sea and air Akasha gathered and with a sudden and noiseless pop a rock appeared before her. Floating on the water in a way only she knew how Tora leaned her elbows on it and rested her chin on her palms.
"Ah mum. Doing something weird again eh". A smile split her cheeks. Behind her, the water parted and splashed revealing a large crowd of Qitsarlmers. Their bright purple eyes glinting in the dark. Some stayed back while others swam closer to Tora.
"What is that, your Grace?". Tora stiffened at the title. An unexpected result of her actions. While most of the Qisarlmers had been initially peeved at her actions earlier that day, even they had come around in sighting the power she wielded. The result.
This.
Without a word, no ceremony, no talks she'd become this royal being amongst them. She didn't even know there was something like that till they had bowed to her by the time darkness came.
"Glacius. Like the twin suns, they will light up your night. A bit". She replied ignoring the title.
"Abn Madi?". A voice spoke shocked. Tora nodded her smile blooming more. She'd learned the Qitsarlemr word for Mother was Madi. So they called her Abn Madi - All Mother when she'd spoken about her.
"Yes. She's always making new and exciting things". Her smile waned a bit. "Ozai doesn't care for it as he's always looking for her. Questions, a ton of em he has. Won't ask me cause I'm supposedly his little sister". She shook her head in amusement.

"Of course, I like it that Mother is always bringing up something new. The more she makes the more new things I have to study".
"Must be nice to have a Madi like her?". An older Qitslmer asked wistfully.
Tora simply smiled. "She's all our Madi. As your makers she indeed made us all". Looking from the Qitslmer to the sky her eyes grew longing. 'Soon I'll be able to go up and see what it's like from there'.
The Qitsalrmer all stayed up watching the Glacius with her. Soon their watchful party turned to one of games and plays. The party went on for a while as Tora stayed by the boulder she had made watching the Glacius.
It was hours later. The Glacius had found its way to the center of the black sky. The party behind her had died down and all of the Qitsarlmers had gone back below. Tora would never admit that she'd spent the last few minutes trying to sense and understand the little she could from the scant energies she felt from here.
A sigh escaped her lips.
"Miss home already my grace?". It was Ganuo. Madi to Tamdri. Tora tore her eyes from the Glacius and to the older Qitsarlmer.
"Not really. Just inching to see how it works". She admitted looking back up. "Not really been down here for long either way. Just a day".
"And you don't miss your madi?" She sounded surprised. "I'd have done anything back in the day to have my Madi hold me again". The sadness in her voice seeped out.
Tora turned to her seemingly confused at the infection of voice. "Why do you sound like that?".
"Like what?". The inflection was gone. Confusion was all that remained in her voice.
"Your voice sounded different and weird". She pointed out pushing off the stone and wading around Ganuo like she was searching for downtime weird off her.
"Oh. Must be my grief speaking. You don't know that?".
Tora titled her head. "Grief?". She blinked. "Why feel grief?". Ganuo blinked then shook her head.
"Must be quite something as a Himar". The confusion on the baby goddess's face was ignored as Ganuo turned to look back up at the Glacius. "What is she like?. Abn Madi I mean". Her eyes returned for a mere fraction to Tora and then back up.
"Is she glorious?. Nice?. Beautiful?. Does she swim faster than you?. Can she make the dead return and is her smile the morning suns".
Tora blinked. "Yes. Yes. Yes. I think so. She should but that's more Freyja's thing. And I doubt she'd let that happen. And I don't really know. Is it?".
Ganuo looked confused. Tora shook her head. "Madi is madi. To me and all of us she's just this beautiful figure with a giant smile and warm hugs. She's very exciting. Makes things that wow me and her force tell us stories while she's away".
Ganuo crinkled her eyes. "She sounds, loving".
"Loving?".
"It's love. She loves".
Tora blinked, the word registering and deciphering. "Love. Yes. I believe she does have that organ but I don't think it pumps these emotions for us. More like lifeblood".
Ganuo chuckled and shook her head then stared intently at Tora. "Thank you my grace. For everything. It means a lot, what you have thought and have granted my people".
Tora beamed. "Of course. Just make sure you always teach others and when you learn new things tell me about it".
"How would I do that?". Ganuo asked. Inner mind she wondered how she would find a Himar to tell them something.
Tora seemed perplexed as well for a second then blinked. "By talking to me. It's the act of speaking to one beyond the realms, Men'étus. When you do that I'll hear you wherever I am. As long as your Menéts is to me".
A smile stretched on Ganuo's face. "Then I will...Men'étus".

Torà tilted her head in surprise. This was something she'd not seen in the Akashic Records yet. Her desire to learn more was halted as Ganuo squealed out in surprise. Tora cast a gaze at her in worry only to see her staring into nothing. Of course given that half if not all the Qitsarlmers of Aurora Atoll had unlocked their Akashic Records, thanks to her, she'd have thought the Qitsarlmere was only just gaining it now.
"It says I'm your first follower now my Grace". Ganuo announced with a gleeful giggle. Tora didn't understand what was so joyful about it but said nothing. If the Qitsarlmere was happy then it was a fine with her. Her eyes returned to her notification as a thought entered her head.
'Let her choose Akasha'. The notification flickered like it wasn't sure then vanished.

Next to Tora Ganuo was ecstatic, her Enumae waving excitedly beneath the water, eyes wide like saucers as she went through her records. But it wasn't just her records she could see now. Her eyes took in the blessings provided by the beautiful Qitsarlmere who was beyond them all. A young looking Mere (female Qitsarlmer) who had done a lot for them in a single Sun rise and sunset.
And now she'd gone far beyond what her people could do thanks to their new patron. Ganuo knew which choice she would make instantly. It was clear the Mere was an entity that lived knowledge and wisdom. 'I will do my best to learn as much as she wishes'.
Selecting the choice came with a lack of visual effect. But the pain and headache that assaulted her was one she didn't like. Her sight split as the Mere became four and then the black body of colors in the sky became more.
"Are you okay?". The kind and worried expression of her patron made the headache go by faster. Ganuo simply smiled and nodded. Looking quickly at her records her eyes widened at the new changes she could see.
