JAMESON'S POV
It was here, the grand day. Finally, I could set eyes on this strange player who had already changed the flow of the game just on the first day. To anyone, it might have seemed inconsequential but I knew differently. Birthing an administrator with such a personal perk was one thing, and then following it up with slaying a level 5 Void Wolf as an unlevel creator player was another thing.
Many of the staff would wonder why the personal perk was so important. Jameson just inwardly laughed. He didn't blame them. Only the higher-ups and people close knew. Luckily he had fallen into the 'people close' range.
When making a race The Will fondly called the system left only parts to you. Features, looks, race and gender. The rest was all done by it. Jameson had asked why not give them unrestricted access to everything. The answer had been simple.
'There are billions of variations of powers. Godlike and mortal. At the end of the day Creator Online was a game. By creating the entity, granting it a race, and everything else you narrowed down the list of possible power sets The Will would grant to you. This was done by choosing a Racial Type.
So while it looked like The Will had granted the Haif'jin incredible powers it wasn't completely true. It simply worked with what Creator 79 gave it.
She gave Haero a star which increased his percentage of gaining the Ultimate weapons skill.
'Good thing I nerfed him. He'd have been swinging death blades all around'. I shivered at the mere thought of that power in a giant's hand.
Yet the truly astonishing part was her universe form. Most of the staff had been surprised to find the game already pausing to update. It was simple. Creator Online was made as an empty game. Only the Grand AI, also known as the system or to the Creator Players as The Will of the multiverse existed in the game.
By successfully creating a first form the game had paused to implement the design features of the game. Though that was just one of the many updates. In other words, Creator 79 had pushed the game far ahead of its calculated timeframe.
It was like the game had paused to update only one server.
Sure I had supplied a Void Wolf, material that would boost the process of a Universe form. In my defense, though I had never expected her to defeat it. Letting her keep the loot while considered unfair was right, after all, looting was still a thing in the game.
My eyes surveyed the countless players as they strolled into the huge room. The seats were arranged according to their numbers with a long table in between. Atleast three long tables were giving a Hogwarts impression. A setting that was based on the fact that players currently only had numbers for names.
I kept my gaze locked on the seat tagged as 79. I watched as various female players kept taking other seats and that one was left empty.
Finally, the room was filled. Yet player 79 was absent. A frown was visible on my face as I didn't appreciate her tardiness. Just as I made to find someone who could shed some light two men approached me.
One a staff and the other a player.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
The man before me his brunette hair scattered and green eyes locked on me stopped behind the staff as a few words were whispered into my ear.
I gave a glance to the player before nodding at the staff to leave. Only then did I motion for the male to speak.
"Mr. Furrow, I hear you have something for me about one of our Creator players". I asked.
The man nodded a strange look crossing his face for just a moment. It flashed so fast it was barely noticeable yet I wasn't the kind to miss something like that.
He drew closer his eyes stealing side glances while his body moved to block off the other players whether they were listening in or not. My eyes narrowed as I noted a bit of seriousness in this. Finally, he spoke. He spoke for just a few minutes but I understood the gist. Well, I didn't understand I just got the point.
He was related to Creator 79 who was his sister. Due to personal reasons, her attendance wouldn't be possible, and the man whose name I got as Dester wanted to know if it was okay to set up a video conference for her to participate.
'Must be an accident victim of some sort. Atleast she still took this seriously even with whatever situation she had.' I felt aggrieved at not meeting the player who took down my Void Wolf and created an op god but I shrugged it off.
A few moments later the video conference was set up with Dester's laptop showing a black video paused screen. Though I was curious I was sure to keep my curiosity to myself.
The meeting started soon after. My attention focused on the various players I spoke up.
"Welcome to the First Creator meeting. Yes you heard me right. Creator. You all have already figured it out by now. For those too slow, sorry". Seeing no one taking issues with the statement I moved on. "I have to say, we at Ancient Inc. are glad to have truly tremendous players like yourselves in it." I halted, letting my words sink in.
"Going straight to the point, I realize most have lots of questions concerning the nature of the game. While most have surely figured out the game's intent others most clearly have not "I looked to a rather relieved-looking dude who smiled sheepishly at my stare.
"First, Creation Online like most of you figured or suspect is player created, run, and ruled. In other words, you all are the A.Is of this game. Whatever you create and do becomes the lore of Creation Online and your universes. Many things will happen, especially now that the game has begun and.." I was interrupted by a female with pink hair.
"You mean after all that transpired in the game earlier it still was not the start?" Her eyes were bewildered.
"True. If you've realized. None of you have actual in-game names or status panels. That is because what you were all currently doing was more like a prologue or a dawn-of-time event in a story. Trust me. While it may seem useless and annoying now you'll find it very important what you did in this prologue". A smirk grew on my face at their reactions to this information. Though it dulled when I looked at Dester's black screen unable to note Creator 79's reaction to this.
'I wonder what she'd think when she reaches that stage. I'm sure she's gonna get a lot of fans if this continues this way.' I grinned mentally. 'Hopefully, The Will didn't lie'.
"Does this mean we're going in blind.?" A blond guy asked. His expression showed a slight hope for a no from me.
"Yes, you are. The only information you get are those gleaned from the Will of the Multiverse."I responded.
Before any other player could ask something else I hurried on.
"But to give you an edge and also, well more like an incentive we added something to the update. While it'll be useful for you now it'll also come in handy for the players to join later. The Raven Stream."
"Is that what we think it is?" Dester asked this time leaning forward.
"I also concur with that question, if we're both thinking a live stream that is" another male player called Tyler spoke glancing at Dester for a moment.
"Yes. Livestream. But, while you can show what you want there's a bit of a time gap between the air and the showing to let both you and us remove things that you either don't want others to know or we don't want the public to see yet".
Tyler and Dester both nodded while other players made a smile at this.
"The best part though is the GRMC system. The game to real money conversion system. For now, this part should be kept silent which is why you'll all be signing NDAs before you leave. We can't have other big groups trying to get in now." Even as I spoke various employees entered the hall handing out documents while the players were still stunned at this.
Pro players had smiles on their faces while streamers could only chuckle. This was a gold mine waiting to be explored.
"Finally, you have one month before the alpha testers begin to flock in. Do what you must till then".
I spoke about a lot more things like the leaderboards and what qualified as ranking first. There were different leaderboards, one for personal strength or level and one for universe rating, and the other was of both combined.
Some pro player named Keller or whatever quickly demanded that his rankings be reviewed claiming it impossible he was in the fifth position. The stares from everyone he got didn't seem to bother him.
Ignoring him I moved on to other things answering the questions thrown at me while he sat fuming like an animation. Most questions I tried my best to answer although I ignored questions as to what made a universe get good ratings. All I did was smile and dismiss the Creator players with the information that they would be able to enter the game tonight.
I watched as all left while receiving a nod from Dester. Several players banded together to talk amongst themselves trying to glean secrets or ideas from the others. Probably forming groups.
'That's something I forgot to tell them eh?'. I mentally laughed at that. Unlike expected in Creator Online, Creator players would never be able to form parties or guilds with each other. They just didn't know it yet. Unofficially maybe.
'Enjoy while it's fun.'
